A WOMAN with tumours all over her face and body has overcome cruel comments to finally revealing herself in public. Alex Lee, from Florida, was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis when she was in middle school. She first started developing tumours on her chest and stomach area but they then spread all over her body. This severely affected Alex's confidence and self esteem to the point where she would hide and cover up her skin as much as possible. She told Truly: "I felt like I wanted to hide my tumours because I didn't want to make other people feel uncomfortable". Alex's confidence was also affected by some cruel and extremely negative comments from people. She said: "They'll look at you and be like, 'Ew what is that? Why do you look like that?' I've even had somebody ask me if I'm contagious". Alex says that despite her growing confidence she still suffers with her self esteem and can still have days where she wants to hide herself away. Today was a huge day for Alex, as she decided to head to the beach with partner Anthony in order to reveal her tumours to the public. She said: "I wanna wear something cute and revealing, I'm gonna go without my shirt, without my shorts, I'm just going to be free!"

Bless you my young sister. As soon as I saw this video, I knew your skin condition. My son was born 39 years ago with cafe o le spots. They said if he had neurofibromytosis, those spots would start rising at around the age of 6. It started at the age of 7. I was heart broken, at first. But I realized that my son was a gift from God and no matter his medical condition, we would raise him and treat him as a gift from God. He loved the Lord. He was never ashamed of his "bumps". He mainly had them on his arms, back, stomach and one on his face, but just a few. Not nearly the number that you have and not nearly the size. But he went shirtless all the time. If someone asked him about his "bumps" he'd explain and kept on going. He never, ever let his skin condition be a hinderance to him. I'm so proud that you have come into your own and recognize your beauty, inside and out. Keep doing you. I can't say I know how you feel, as no one in my family has or had this, that I know of. We never let our son feel shamed or embarrassed. You are a strong woman and you have love surrounding you. You are beautiful!

Our racial studies showed that women of the white race are 10x more tolerant to men with imperfections than those of the black race. Infact, there we barely see any BW living with a BM with imperfections (the few seen are those who were together long before harm stroke) Surprisingly, the few BW in our data were seen with WM. To cut things short, this woman wouldn't have stood in the same room with this man if he was the one whose body was covered with......

Yeah, my uncle had this. I’m so sorry that she has to go through this. They’re on the inside too. I hope people treat her right-I never “saw” the tumors on my uncle. He just was who he was.

Dear lady, you are a champion. I wish you could know exactly how much you are helping others who have physical differences such as NF. Cruelty & stupidity are two sides of the same coin, & those who choose to be cruel will never really advance beyond the state of emotional maturity of the average 6-yr-old child. To me, THEY are the ones who are sick & contagious, & they spread their disease like it's a virus itself...& they CHOOSE to act like that!!!
