Wasn't surprised you spilled brake fluid everywhere using the aerosol lid to pour it into the reservoir. Never mind, try this: When you open a new bottle of brake fluid make a hole in the foil seal with a screwdriver or similar near the rim of the bottle. Then make another hole in the foil seal on the opposite side. Now when you pour the brake fluid from the bottle, the small diameter hole in the foil seal makes it easy to regulate the flow of fluid and avoid spills. The second hole in the foil seal is just to allow air into the bottle as you pour. Hope this helps 👍

Hi Ash, rule of thumb for bleeding brakes, is bleed the line furthest from the master cylinder 1st.
@AshRowlandАй бұрын
Yep, someone else mentioned this, will do that next time 👍
@tonymontana897Ай бұрын
It doesn't apply to motorcycles though because the front calipers are already close to its master. More advice for cars.
@Abogado-Del-DiabloАй бұрын
@ completely incorrect. If you bleed the longest line first the short line is much easier. You will bleed the brakes first time every time. I was taught this and been doing it since 1977. I have never had a problem bleeding brakes, even the so called impossible four pots on a zzr1100.

Thanks for keeping up the entertainment value. Duck 🦆 Ati 😅 Another could of tips for doing brakes. If you sandwich a piece of polythene bag under the master cylinder cap, it reduces the rate at which the fluid runs out when you split the lines. That's because there's a breather hole on the cap to prevent air lock in normal operation. I use an old jam jar with a hole in the lid to catch the brake fluid. I put my clear tube well through the hole so the old fluid goes direct into it. I think you were very tired when you did this one. Take care of yourself Ash.
@AshRowlandАй бұрын
Thanks mate, that's a pretty good idea! Might try that one next time 👍

Hi Ash luv ur videos just a wee pointer when bleeding front bike brakes always start with the caliper furthest away from the reservoir
