If the whole internal looping this is really that hard to figure out you can always fire up a virtual machine and run whatever you want in the VM and still interface with it. It will take some configuring, but its definitely possible. I thought you were gonna say you had a spare laptop to bring which would be a great idea; because either one of those should be able to run your whole setup.

I think another part of the spec budget manufacturers skip over is isolation. Cheapo 3-pin DMX kit tends not to be isolated - so if a fixture has an accident & mains power winds up on the logic board, you can have high voltages appear on your DMX cables too. Boom goes your fixture, boom goes every other fixture not using isolation, and boom goes anything else on the DMX wires too :(

I did a show with a beginning "lighting" guy who routed a bunch of 3pin XLR Mic Cables through a series of moving heads and par cans. When I fired the console up, all the lights started flickering and flying all over the place like they have a mind or their own. So basically,"we shouldn't use Mic. Cables for DMX.

If you want help to do have the artnet occur internally within one laptop its pretty simple...i've done it to control Capture, Resolume and Avo Titan One. Not hard at all...let me know what you think.

I'm interested to see how you pack the command wing into that Peli! In my experience the smallest case possible to include foam around on the inside is the Peli iM2950. Unless you have a removable arm rest on the wing, which is possible.

Hey Christian, Let's say I have an old simple DMX console, with MIDI in, through and out. Can I connect this to MA2onPC through a MIDI -> USB dongle so I can use the faders as executors? Documentation on MIDI is so hard to find and understand lol.

Be Careful when running resolume through a console. It's pretty simple but you can dig yourself into a hole pretty easy.

Ugh... had to buy 5-pin DMX for my school... that was a nightmare. They didn't understand the difference between 3-pin and 5pin (despite how I went to show them the only DMX port on our _entire stage_ and how it had not 1-pin, not 3-pins, but an entire whopping 5-pins!)

Awesome setup! Just curious, I have a laptop with a 4k monitor but when I run Resolume, the UI is super small almost to the point where I cant see it! How did you get your Resolume scaled properly on the 4k laptop?

If you need footage for visuals checkout www.beeple-crap.com/ He makes amazing visuals and gives them away for free. Arena is great but be carful of visuals with sound already in them as they have a 4 beat counter so they work perfectly on time (this becomes a pain if you press them a micro second late as you have to wait all 4 beats for it to start).
