That looks like an incredible fishing spot, probably monsters downstream as well. Great video Nick!

The initial overhead view looked like a dream come true for any fisherman. As I am 70 now, I can't access all places as good as when I was a kid.(sadly) Great video Nick; always a welcome treat on Thursday.

First thing I’d like to say is I love your channel and really appreciate that you fish for a lot of unorthodox and under appreciated fish species. Not many people fish for things like gar and buffalo so it’s awesome to see. I’m just curious if you’ve ever considered targeting something like pike, Muskie, pickerel or whatever is in your area. I’ve never really seen you target anything mainstream except for large mouth, which is fine cause like I said it’s what makes your content really interesting. Tbh I don’t really know if you have stuff like small mouth, walleye, pike etc in your area so I’ve got no idea if that’s even on the table. I live in the Great Lakes region so I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to the number of unique species to target lol.
@adamloehr8407 Жыл бұрын
We definitely have northern pike and walleye in this part of the country (Illinois/Missouri). There are even specific lakes where muskie are stocked. I've only seen him catch a couple walleye/sauger. Not sure if he has ever tried targeting the larger pikes though. I'd like to try myself someday when I'm a little better at fishing.

I’ve been watching you for a long time now and it’s so cool that you came to charleston!! me and my buddy’s have pulled monsters out of that spill away

Alway amazed that you are the only fishing these spots! Yes, do try this one again! Always waiting each week for your video!
@JA53705 Жыл бұрын
He's having a blast, but many people who are really into fishing don't seek out rough fish, which is mostly what he's been catching in the spillways. So that may be why you don't see others fishing some of these places. Carp, gar, bowfin etc. are a lot of fun to catch, but are not as prized as gamefish like Muskies, northern pike, walleye, bass etc. Those hybrid bass are definately sought after in some areas though.

You need to take a tour of the spillways in northern MS. There are 4 of them within about a 2 hous drive north to south. They are full of catfish, crappie, bass, and MASSIVE gar. I have seen gar down here twice as big as your biggest gar catch.

Catching those large fish on your ultra light. Reminded me of my Dad. He landed a twenty eight and a half pounds with his Orvis spinning reel with eight lb. Test line. He saw the knot at the end of the line three times. It took him an hour and a half to land it . I am thankful he taught me how to fish. He would have loved your show. 😊
