@@Helliox The 'judge' as you call her is a nominee, so that establishes a context for the hearing. The Senator represents the voters/ctizens of the Republic; their boss. The senator, looking to serve as a witness for the people with due respect assumed, asked a very particular question that had a context of the nominees own previously stated position. The nominee did not answer adequately at any point, nor as far as I can tell pretend to begin to address the same question asked in several ways, several times. That is the context for this specific conversation. When the nominee says 'Senator", her emotional state is well represented and snotty. And she goes on in her tone of frustration and condescension, obvious for anyone with an emotional IQ to witness. Perhaps you didnt have a grandmother like mine either.. Im not suggesting the nominee didnt have the best of intentions, though you seem to conclude without possible knowledge of her state of mind that she 'wanted to elaborate'. So perhaps youre a psychic. I am not. I go by what I witness that is verifiable. The other thing to consider is that there is a very limited amount of time the panel are allowed to ask questions, and if the nominee stonewalls with less than forthcoming answers as is sadly the rule rather than the exception in most of these obviously politically charged hearings. (It does not behoove the panel to settle for the same decorum allowed when a defendant comes before the court and needs their rights represented to the full extent of the law, which is a very different context than what we see here.) You can see this on display from both the conservative and the leftist sides of the aisle as well as the bench. Or 'nominated' benches.
