On stage, the choreography is basically her circling him/touching him in seductive ways as she sings. Cady watches the whole thing and then sees them kiss at the end.

one thing i love about this show is the tragic comedy in its irony. certain songs - 'what's wrong with me?', for example - are openly heartbreaking but there are so many tidbits within random throwaway lines and even those that are iconic but not seen for what they are because they're played for humour. one of my favourites being karen's 'i may not be smart... that's it', in 'meet the plastics'. i know the show kinda views the plastics as the closest thing to villains (regina especially, for obvious reasons) but like, the fact that karen's entire perspective of herself is derived from the constant insults, often from regina herself? in other situations she'd still have her beauty to rely on (which is equally problematic for different reasons) but with regina taking the title of 'the hot one', all karen is reduced to is another constant reminder of what she lacks, and is made fun of for it. she's been so perfectly forced into that caricature, too, i wouldn't be surprised if she feels it to be so ingrained that she wouldn't know how to go about changing it. even by the end of the show, where gretchen has had her song and thus her opportunity to recognise herself as a person, karen is left without that. instead she is doomed to be representative of what is probably her deepest insecurity (i know it'd be mine if i was in her stead). how can she ask for help if she just gets made fun of for it? (looking at you damien, and your 'orandge'). the audience is shown pretty much all of this, in a way, as soon as we meet her. and we join the student body when it's played after a comedic pause and we laugh at her with everyone else.

Day 3 of asking Matthew to react to either the precure openings or the precure transformations. Precure is a magical girl anime series that started in 2004, that is still ongoing to this day, and is made by the same company that made dragon ball and sailor moon. The reason it is still on going is because with each year, you get a whole new set of characters, so each season/year of precure is separated from one another and can be watched as a stand alone, this is true for most of the show apart from the very first precure having been created, the seasons being in 2004-2005 having the names Futari Wa Precure! (We are Precure!), and Futari Wa Precure: Max Heart! (We are Precure: Max Heart!), and the precure series started in 2007-2008, Yes! Precure 5!, and Yes! Precure 5, GoGo! In this show there’s typical some type of fairy thing that looks like some form of animal or item to help them transform into their Cure forms, which in more recent times follow this pattern in terms of colour palette choices; the main character has an outfit with pink in it, the others in the group typically have a blue, yellow/orange, and either purple or red for the last one Despite all of the years being released as a stand alone precure show, which have their own problems with what they need to solve, their are movies which conjoin multiple of the past groups together, which states that all of these groups live in the same universe/world, which says a lot about the lore of the show considering how many different worlds have appeared throughout the series. My personal favourite years would probably be Heartcatch Precure, released in 2010, Princess Precure, released in 2018, and Hugtto! Precure, released in 2019, I rewatched these seasons multiple times, the endings always made me cry :’)) Anyways, that’s the end of my rant into precure, it’s one of my favourite childhood shows and it’s really unknown in the western parts of the world, as it’s mainly super popular in Japan, in fact I have no idea how I got to know about all this in the first place as I’m European myself, but I am so glad I found it, it really founded my childhood :’)) Well yeah okay, um, thanks for having the patience to read through all of this, and I’d greatly appreciate if you could react to it 🙏 (which btw it’s super understandable if you think all the transformations are too long because there’s 20 years of transformations along with special ones done in movies or the finale of the season or something, the theme songs in general would be MUCH shorter, and if even that is too long, there’s an account on KZbin that does a precure medley of the theme songs each year, the 2024 one was released not long ago, it the one in 2023 still has my heart haha) Thank you again!!
