I'm Having a Hard Time Stacking Silver

I have the same addiction. Pm's are a way for me to save my money and keep up with inflation. Been buying too much silver lately, lol. I need to buy more gold. Good advice.

Great subject, yes sometimes I too feel the same way. Things that keep me going are Investment Diversity, Preservation of Wealth, and the fact that I enjoy it. Another thought, a quarter in the 1950s bought you a gallon of gas, and that same silver quarter will buy you a gallon of gas today even though it is about $5.00 per gallon...a find that to be a great illustration of the Preservation of Wealth you get with silver.

Thank you for your honesty. I'm not as attached to cash but I can understand. Old habits die hard, especially when it's convenient. I hope it doesn't happen but a time when we have no choice, we will all have to adapt and overcome. I think this video is a good way for people to accept what's reality and prepare. I feel the opposite. I don't like having lots of fiat dollars I enjoy having real money. I have a war chest full of metals. Just picked up another 10 5 oz silvertowne poker chips. I love the extra 50 ounces way more than I did the $1,550. when you can have a pile of gold and silver that you don't need to touch and you are just accumulating, that's when I feel the most secure. It is in deep savings ready to protect me from The Fallout that is coming.

I exchange cash for silver/gold for a long term hold. It's quite evident that it does well over the long term. One certainly has to factor their in/out cost. I've currently backed out of buying, but I have the itch something extreme lol My last purchase was march 9th(epic purchase). I actually spent wayyy more than I should have, but seeing the premiums and price jump afterwards certainly backed up my concerns. In any case, if I need more cash, I have a side-gig that can generate cash relatively quickly. And I'm also positioned nicely at my job and overtime is pretty much always optional for me. In the unlikely event that silver and gold become relatively worthless or I lose on the purchases, I'm still ok because I'm also a melter of metals. I intend on generating unique stuff. We'll see if it takes off lol And if SHTF... I believe I've taken the right steps. Always have cash on hand, and you'll feel comfortable with your stack no matter its size 😉

I totally understand about the issues stacking. I attempted stacking back in 2009. My wife and I had a daughter, I lost a good paying job because of crappy economy. Sold off what I had to take care if family and get us back to good. Then we moved to San Antonio for a few years, then moved back home to Cincinnati. Kids in private school to make sure they get the best education we can get them. Fast forward until now, I am trying to stack again. It is tough when you look at tge cost of things and see that on price tag there is a number and a $, not "1.5 ounces troy" The one thing I can say is that you are correct, it is definitely a mental game. Best thing I can do is remind myself that the stack is to preserve our monetary value for future needs/retirement. You are doing good man, don't stress. It will get better and if it doesn't, this will be the new normal for pri es for a while. Good luck bro.

I definitely get it but I do feel more comfortable and secure have my wealth be in a hard security asset then to have it in an inflated/inflating dollar. Stay safe out there man. Great price on that quarter oz of gold man. That's 526 is my DCA for gold so it's definitely hard seeing these prices, not knowing if I should stick with my monthly gold purchase at these higher prices. The one thing is though, I don't want to be stuck wishing I had bought even when it is almost 600 a quarter oz if it was to continue to rise

Also, in your spreadsheet include your total net worth (+ assets, - liabilities), and you'll just see the cash in one cell move to another cell (silver or gold). So you'll see you still have it. It's just in another form!

I keep cash too, but once you start looking at it as Monopoly money and worthless, you gain a whole new financial perspective, and you learn to live frugally and make due with a smaller cash holding. If you get a side hustle or incorporate your business (S Corp., LLC, etc.), it really helps because you can put a lot of expenses on the business account and save on taxes. Same thing happened to me when I started buying metal. Took a few years for my subconscious to accept the difference between real money (silver/gold) and currency, even though I logically understood the difference long before. This is a great video! I think about this a lot as I have been coin collecting for 4 years and silver stacking for almost 2 years. I'm 24 and just graduated from medical assistant school and trying to find/keep a job in the field has been a little bit of a struggle for me on the mental aspect. I sometimes think about selling/ trading some of my silver as well. I went to a new coin shop a couple of months ago and was thinking about trading some of what I have for something different, and the owner says I should just keep it and buy more when I can. Silver is one of those assets you put away for a long time. When I started stacking- digital accounts did not pay anymore than .5% and today you can get 4%-5% interest. PM's are insurance against the declining buying power of the dollar. You are doing the right thing having some silver, imo.

I often feel the same way man. Watching my bank account go down, while my metals go up. Same with throwing money into stocks. But, if it was all in my bank account, I’d be looking for other ways to spend it. I have to remind myself that it’s a store of wealth and I’m just hiding money from myself. An added source of money if needed, but takes more effort to access and harder to blow through it frivolously, like cash or swiping a card. Like Insurance…in case shit happens

100% correct thinking sir ! I've had all those same thoughts as you. I don't think you should consider it a cash addiction. This is the one thing that can be widely exchanged for everything you need to live. My suggestion for you is to take a few of your LEAST LIKED pieces of precious metals, cash them in. Then, KEEP that cash on hand, in an envelope or something close to you. This should fix the mental aspect of what you've done to your savings account. This is how I fixed those thoughts! Trust me on it.

Cash is a tough game cause it provides a sense of security. I tend to go a few months and stack hard then a few months I'm building cash. You've got 6 months cash saved up that's a huge milestone and should feel very comfortable. Also you are military so you get a pension you have loads of security in your life I believe. I would view it more as a need for readiness. Cash is a very liquid form of currency. The cash you have is on deck and ready to use. The liquidity of PM's are the best and worst thing about them... Because they are immediately liquid, it helps impulsive buyers hang onto there money. But, in the case of an emergency, it takes time to access the value.

I felt the same way until I realized I still have the money some of it is worth more than what I paid some isn't but I do know that if I wasn't buying silver I would be broke and nothing of value to show for it. I'm a prepper first so buying metals is like 3rd or 4th in line for me. Home defense tools & freedom seeds are first &2nd food, water 3rd.
