What a great KZbin channel! You interviewed my friend Mike! I've known him for many years and had no idea he flew remote control planes until only a few years ago. And then wouldn't you know, he buys a real airplane! Talk about making your passion for flying into a reality! I had a big smile on my face watching you guys fly together! 😎

Really enjoyed how you taught a new girl how to fly. No pressure, just showing the fun part of flying. Never got my license, but Dad always had someone to take in the plane when he needed it. I did some flying but enjoyed it better with someone that really knew how to fly was doing it. Especially when Dad was shooting down German fighters, and we got the overspeed buzzer.

Great job Emma. I also loved the advice you gave Callie - Don't let anyone pressure you into to learning to fly if your heart isn't in it. As a low time instructor in the land down under, I've already seen this problem arise with young students being pushed by parents.

Mike did a great job flying the airplane when things didn't go perfectly. It reminded me of when I lost a brand new pair of expensive sunglasses back in the late 1990s. I was looking back for my flying buddy and got my head outside of the little Pober Pixie's windshield. GONE, just like that!

Thanks for the compliment. It was two years ago when a friend on his way to Reklaw in his Champ lost his cell phone out the window while taking a picture of a friends house. The friend was actually able to locate the phone and brought it to him at Reklaw the next day. It was not damaged. Totally unbelievable stuff.

Lots of talk about this Pietenpol Air Camper, and that IS where this plane got it roots, but it's not a Pietenpol, even though many call it that. It's a Grega GN-1 Aircamper. John Grega sought to update the Pietenpol design from 1929-1933ish back in the sixties. The two planes look a lot alike and are very similar in many ways. A dead giveaway in the rear main landing gear strut attaching forward of the rear wing lift strut. That was done to allow using a Piper Cub gear. A true Pietenpol has a gear that attaches at the lift strut points. The Grega is also just a tad bit tighter in the cockpit.
@TruthBeyondTradition-t3zАй бұрын
Or, it could be a modified Piet.

Just a thought. In a lot of these videos not just aircraft when people make a good landing talk about the weather they always seem to say " not bad " why not say that was a pretty good landing that is much more appropriate and reassuring to a person not familiar with flying. Like your videos and enjoy the variety of aircraft and commentary. In other words "pretty good".

Reklaw is in route for a really bad happening. Reckless and Dangerous is what I see. Heavy traffic of uncontrolled egotistical showoffs is going to bite big time some day. Honestly though: I so want to go and see this awesome spectacle of aviation. Reckless is fun and dangerous is fun too! Combined it's Wheeeee Hawwww! Somebody is obviously eventually going to die though. You all know that I'm speaking the truth here. You've got multiple aerobatic displays going on at the same time whilst relying on pilot to pilot conversations to keep separations on a frequency that's literally jammed to the point whereas it's difficult to get a word in. It will likely cause multiple deaths and will be the end of Reklaw forever. Somebody needs to step in and choreograph this and to verify each "performing" pilots' proficiencies for safety sakes before disaster occurs and ends Reklaw forever! Great Video BTW and yes, I'm a subscriber!
@mikekopf11732 сағат бұрын
Oshkosh has a worse record and they have controllers, granted that Oshkosh is massive compared to Reklaw. Every time you shove the throttle forward you are taking chances, but if mitigated properly the risk can be managed. Keep your head on a swivel and if the pattern gets full, don't go up. This was my first time flying there and I felt comfortable in the pattern and the radio was not jammed as you say. Everyone communicated enough to get a great site picture but not too much to get confusing. If you have not been, you really should go. It is the highlight of my year. Lots of great people out there.
@robertshaver4432Сағат бұрын
@@mikekopf1173 I want to go, there's no doubt about that but it looks a-bit... unchoreographed/unplanned/a free for all. Are all these pilots checked for being qualified /FAA certified to do all of what they are performing? Or not?????
