Exploring Hogwarts is insane. I'm about 15 hours in and you've been to places I've never seen before. They did a great job with it. I'm spoiled by how good the music is, it's a shame the music isn't constant. There's no natural castle ambiance to compensate when the music cuts out. Often I'm walking around in complete silence.

i found that with headphones i also hear ambient sounds, like pictures playing classical music and knights humming and arguing, and ghosts flying around and students having conversations. there is enough going on and i would turn music down anyway. i want the real ambient sounds. i think they nailed it. btw you can take photos

Not sure if you noticed this later but if you hover on a slot with some gear equipped in the gear section, you will see an option to change its appearance. Then you can equip the stuff with the highest stats and then change their look to match your taste

Dormitories are not actually fixed in place depending on the year. Case in point being Harry who bunked in the same room no matter the year. So they either rotate by occupants or semi-randomly.

It made me glad you also cried 🥹 as soon as I saw my common room I was choking up. The hardest part with this game is staying on task 😆 I want to explore everything! Give me every page! By the time I got my wand I was already like level 16 😆 and I wish I could turn the floo powder dialogue off I get it we would all be inconvenienced without it but I don’t need to hear it hundreds of times! Let me explore without that dialogue! I enjoyed this whole episode I don’t mind it being 2 plus hours 🥹

I'm ridiculously over powered even with a higher difficulty cause I just do a ton of damage that it actually makes it tougher to play so I wish I just explored but not collected till I was ready to, I'm near the level cap and I haven't really progressed the story much because I been running around every where getting lost in the world. Hufflepuff is THE BEST house to choose in this game. Takes you to a secret location otherwise unavailable. Definitely do that house if you decide to play again!

Exactly what I was going to say when I watched the Sorting Ceremony. If you have created a Wizarding World account before playing the game, along with taking the quizzes that determine your house and wand type, as well as linking said account to your WB account, then the game will automatically have your house and wand type predetermined as if it were the real thing. I suppose you could say it enhances the experience, really.

Wow, I've played nearly 200 hours of this game, and done the opening so many times (on many different characters) and I had NO IDEA you could trigger dialogue with Fig at 54:40 by going to the door before touching the pensieve... wow, the things I keep seeing even after all this time that are new to me. I can also confirm that if you are playing a male character, the stairs in the Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms will turn into slides if you try to go to the girls side. In the Ravenclaw common room there are two armoured statues either side at the base of the stairs that cross their weapons like an X if you try to go past them instead.

The thing about this too is that the structure of Hogwarts isn't going to be exactly to a T like Hogwarts in the future. Because this is what 100 to 200 years in advance? I'm not sure how many years but a good amount. And Hogwarts is ever changing and getting added onto since it is magical so there is bound to be differences going into the game. I just wanted to make that point. They did amazing making it lore accurate though.

1:00:50 I had a similar reaction to the intro on my first playthrough. It does throw you right back into your childhood doesn't it? I was hit with nostalgia big time. I also spent like the first 6 hours or so of gametime just exploring every corner of the castle (as far as it was acessible without spells one learns later in the game).

Be patient, wandering around, give yourself a tour, reach to floo point as many as possible, that's how you get fast travel around. When you can get fantastic beasts as pets, you can sell the spare ones to the shop, that's how you get money. Each color of spells break correspondent bubble shields, when your enemy starts a purple shield for instance, use a purple spell to break it, I learned that on my second round of playing. Enjoy, it's totally worth it.

Eh, I couldn't finish Witcher 3 despite trying it on two platforms, but I'm obsessed with Hogwarts Legacy. I've tried to understand why I can't get much further than 25 hrs, but I think I just don't like playing as Geralt. Over the years I've noticed I've become very particular about being able to play female characters, though, and I've like the Witcher Netflix show. I did enjoy the moments we play as Ciri, maybe playing female characters is just more immersive for me?

I totally understand you! If it wasn't for my channel, I would've probably dropped The Witcher 3. I'm glad I didn't because it's an amazing game, but it's a LOT and hard to get into, especially since it's so dialogue and lore heavy and I didn't know anything about it when I first started. Hogwarts Legacy is much easier to get into imo, but it might be because I'm a big HP nerd 🤣 I also get what you mean about playing female characters, I don't mind playing males but if I have a choice I prefer playing female characters for sure!

Yeah, you almost have to get to the sorting ceremony before your character starts to look like the one you actually made. I even made an Asian character and she still looked the same except for super obvious stuff like hair color etc. I'm surprised more people don't mention it, maybe because the game is so good and eventually your character looks how they should. Love the game, though! Dunno how many hours I've put in since early release, but I don't want it to end so I let myself wander a lot, plus I'm on PC and messing around with mods already ☺️ I'm already looking at what other face options are coming up, especially adding makeup and much paler and darker skin tones, which made the biggest difference to me since I'm also very pale. The "tutorial" cutscenes are very resistant to letting even modded characters look like how you make them, though. But weirdly each cutscene after sorting I think my character slowly morphs into the choices I made. I dunno if it's possible but I'm hoping a modder can fix it.

The reason why you immediately got sorted into Gryffindor is because you linked your Wizarding World account to the game, since you got sorted into Gryffindor on the account. That's also how I got automatically sorted into Hufflepuff.

I made a personal contract to myself that I wouldn't buy or play this game for a year, because most of the impact a game has is usually shown during the first year of release. Now that that year is near completion, I bought the game. That was my gesture, I think it's the minimum possible. I am enjoying the game, it's pretty ok. We'll see how it developes.
