*BIG UPDATE* I have now made a form on my website studioslew.org to submit the link to your Instagram post (doesn’t need to be Instagram can be any publicly viewed link). Theres a tab at the top of the website labeled "Art Contest Submission". It takes two seconds to copy your link and submit it there. That way I will have a clear and organized spreadsheet of all the submissions so no participants get lost in all of the posts. I talk about that and a BUNCH of questions people had about the prompt and contest in this update video.

Hi! Just a couple of questions!!!! 1. Can you do your makeup? If so, can it be kept simple, or extravagant? (How much can it obscure the face?) Same thing goes for outfits! Can you dress up creativley, or is this made to be more simple? 2. Can you include more props other than just one still life? (If you have one still life as the main focus, of course) 3. About 4 minutes in I realized that every huge artist around the globe is going to be in this and that there's no way a small artist could ever win this, small artists would basically help promote the event and not really get anything for it, which is why it's my critical opinion that the prize pool should be split and there should be two competitions, one for people with more than 1000 followers, one for people with less than 1000 followers, that would be, as far as I know, the fairest way to split it.

Ooh I haven’t done a self portrait in hot minute. I’ve only done them for assignments. It would be cool to challenge myself to try to do it for the joy of depicting myself instead of just doing it because I need to I love traditional media, it’s my foundation. But I’ve been working hard learning 3D modeling for the past year I’m already getting ideas on how to express the dichotomy of my works between the two very different art genres/industries. And the industrialization of art in general. I wish I didn’t have to make my skill set more “marketable,” but at the same time, I never would have tried 3D modeling and animation if I didn’t have to think about career outcomes Computer-based art may not be my first nature, but it’s also so cool and exciting to see myself being able to make things I never thought I’d be able to. 10 year old me would be beyond impressed to find out that adult me can make characters for video games 😂 And also amazed with my traditional paintings 😌 I’m so glad I never gave up on art when all the adults in my life who didn’t know better said there’s no way to make money as an artist. They had no idea all the things you can do! Not to mention they never would have imagined in a million years that something called a KZbinrs could make decent to insane amounts of money by sharing free videos of their talents 🤣
