Typically there isn't much realism happening on campuses. Outside of a few foundations professors, it's faculty is more so reflective of the contemporary gallery scene. That being said, he seems like a true gem!

Great video! Agree with Aidan that over blending can destroy a great painting. My art teacher used to say a fan brush can ruin a painting quickly if not used sparringly.

I prefer Aiden's classic art style..I'm sure the finished piece would be stunning... Slew was more modern graphic artist...close but not completely...it's in the coloring I think... As you say.."art is subjective"... Either way I loved the approach to each painting.... there's always something to be learned in a stroke....thank you... 🌿🌿🌿

Haha. On a saturation of YTM (yt trace masters) it is refreshing to see people with years of practice, knowledge and comprehenible skills to share and display. Not that. LeT yOuR iMaGiNaTiOn Be FrEe and then proceeding to timelapse a promo photo of joker with prismacolors. But really something that is not about hiding the truth. Just love of learning.

I think the problem with the fact that artist are incapable of actually defining what is bad art or good art is why art today is at a crossroads. If you ask me, I am not a professional artist, but I am capable of doing professional work. I understand the technique but compared with someone who works in this field I am perhaps much slower and a bit less technical. But knowing that allows me to grow and understand that there are levels. Specially when thinking about technique. I think most artist would agree with this: Professional: Can do any type of art at a professional and technical level. has mastery of color. high level Hobbyist: Can produce professional work at a much slower time. Can do must styles given the time. has a solid understanding of color. Noob: Incapable of doing professional work and just learning the basics of the technical aspects of drawing/sketching. And does not understand color theory.
@slewp10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts I appreciate it! Like Aidan said it’s hard to define due to the subjective nature of art. Even trying to define a “professional” is nebulous and strange. But I think important to place some categories within each genre and practice of art. Nothing but love!
@camcat30510 ай бұрын
@@slewp if you are getting payed, you show clean powerful work. You are a pro. We can stumble into being hard to our selfs as artists when we get to a high level where is professional or very close to that because we can always make it better. But there comes a time where anyone can tell you know what you are doing. Even when sketching. That means something. Love the stuff shown in this Channel! Can’t have enough of it because it PROFESSIONAL! much love to y’all! ❤️

I downvoted your post because you sound pompous and naive. The contemporary (at least the NYC) gallery scene couldn't be further from your comment.
