symbol of ignition adds burn on ALL projectiles it said s, i think this is so that great sword spin 2 win can get both but pulls and the burn, I don't think its a super deal breaker to only have the burn on projectile effect

i get why they made the pistols a condition set, but honestly guardian is the one profession that didnt need dedicated condi weapons. that's what virtue of justice is for! main sword has been the condition weapon of choice for guardian for a long time for that very reason as for engineer, the inability to switch weapon sets means that a support build will have to choose between mace and shield and the bow for entire encounters. it's a pretty hefty cost, and hopefully it's barrier making ability is good enough to sustain alacrity throughout the encounter. the harder one will be quickness, as the lack of a readily available leap finisher means that heal scrappers will have to bring more blast finishers to compensate

I do think have a more clear condi weapon is still good for Guard, especially with it being ranged to give more flexibility to Axe. And Yee that weapon locked engi will have to build it smartly. Those kits may be even more valuable.

Why am I not surprised that Guardian is getting prefered treatment by A-Net? I didn't even had to watch to know that it'd be "better" than the others

Engineer Shortbow: When I first found out Engineer was getting Shortbow my mind burst with ideas of how inventive and fun it could be. I watched the trailer and thought "okay...kinda cool I guess." Then I read the notes on it and realized that ALL 4 SKILLS do the exact same thing (essentially.) All ground targeting, and all require you to hit a skill (or all of them again, unsure) in order to detonate them. Engineer already has tool belt skills to manage, and swapping into kits if you so choose. Now we need to hit several more buttons just to manage our main weapon? In addition to that, Engineer doesn't get a weapon swap, so the main weapon NEEDS to feel fun and smooth. I'm not going to have fun doing the same 4 skills over and over again. I'm gonna give it a fair shot during the beta, but as a player whose put in more hours on Engineer than probably all the other classes combined, I'm feeling a bit discouraged. Guardian Pistols: Now, THIS is what I'm talking about! I love Guardian, and my oldest character is one. My biggest drawback for Guardian, though, has been that the only condition weapons are Axe/Torch and both are melee. For a ranged weapon on swap, we had staff (healing/support) scepter (power & ANNOYING AF auto-attack) and recently longbow (power), so you can't really fully commit to a condition build or the swap weapon becomes useless. If Guardian pistols weren't condi, I would have rioted! This trailer sold me that this will be the best new weapon set of this next update. The skills look amazing! I heavily prefer ranged gameplay, and condi builds, so I'm happy as a clam. My only hope is that one of the skills will have a barrier/block on it, somehow, because GUARDian has such a low HP pool that it needs blocks/barriers/continuous healing in order to survive. I think the ranged gameplay will help with survivability though. I'm looking forward to this the most!

The pistols are cool, but condi , meh. It does make sense Ina sense, since torch is like the only real condi weapon

for shortbow, if the 'mesmer' essence is only just confusion for condi, i do wonder how much of it i pressure out if its the canister i focus on exploding with all the others and how much id be stepping on my mesmers toes, kind of wanna do more bleed or burn cause thats the condis engi is good at, i hate when anet adds a focus on a condi a class doesnt really do much

sometimes i think they design these skills with style in mind and not function, they want you to tactically go up to enemy, put symbol of ignition down and then back up and shoot the enemy/suymbol to get the benefits or they are thinkin about it in a raid/strike setup where youre just stationary most of the time anyways but ya would be nice if ya had more control on where you place the symbol~
