EGO really needs to come out with a 110v adapter for some of these tools to make them dual use. Many people don't want to buy a bunch of expensive batteries and have to swap them out while they are working in their garage with power available. But if you had a vacuum, pressure washer and fan that could be used continuously while in the garage and then pop a battery in them when you need to go mobile...that would be awesome. EDIT: I heard Tommy have the same idea at 25:30, you should have him start badgering Chris Metcalf about it.

EGO + iBrid :). I wonder what the current pull from the batteries is.. Its possible that they are leveraging the high current delivery of the battery cells and exceeding what would be reasonable from a standard 120/15a circuit through a transformer.. For example, i have a 6s lipo RC car battery that is capable of delivering 250A at 22.2v, or 5550W of power. A 120v 20a circuit can deliver 2400W at the rated current, with ego needing to convert this to DC to power the pump and suffering transformer losses, its possible the performance they are showing is only possible because of the batteries.

The eco-system of EGO products is setup to be "AC independent." Hence, self-powered without cables. Thus, If you seek such a setup....buy a Kranzle Pressure Washers that is within the same price range.
@improvedgarage
@improvedgarage Ай бұрын
@@golf007sd2 totally, i have a k1322 personally. I think what jeff is eluding to is that someone who is a mobile detailer or homeowner could buy one of these to use by battery when they need portability, and then have an ac adapter of sorts to connect it to AC power when they have the ability to do so, and not have to manage the battery. Rupes does this with their polishers, i suspect that is where the idea is coming from.
@jeffc6832
@jeffc6832 Ай бұрын
@@improvedgarage good points that I hadn't considered (mostly because my electrical knowledge is pretty limited). I'm definitely thinking about homeowners primarily, or detailers who don't have a generator. Obviously a regular electric pressure washer is going to be best for any garage situation, and for mobile detailers who have generators. But having a vacuum, fan and lights that could be plugged in would be awesome. Say you're detailing your car in the morning, and then going to your kids outdoor sports practice/game in the afternoon, or you're going camping/tailgating. Having portable lights and a fan with freshly charged batteries (because you didn't have to run them down in the morning and then charge before you leave) would be perfect. Or you're vacuuming your car in the morning and then you're going to clean out or work on a project in your shed or another area that doesn't have power. Mobile detailers who don't have a generator, but also work out of their garage can vacuum a car in the morning and then go mobile for the rest of the day with charged batteries. Or maybe their batteries get depleted in the middle of a job (or their generator dies) and then they can still plug into a customer's power.
@erikpechmann879
@erikpechmann879 Ай бұрын
@@jeffc6832 a battery powered generator is the way to go for mobile. It's an investment, but a worthwhile one imo. Something from EcoFlow or Jackery. I like the idea of being able to charge them back up with solar as well. For the money I would go with the EF Delta Pro with an Active 2.0. This will also power a vacuum, polisher, compressor, etc. I'm pretty sure this unit also has a level 2 fast charger, so if needed you could plug in at lunch and be gtg afterwards.

Matt - as an apartment dweller who has been using this set up, here's my recommendation for the store: my solution was a Global Industrial 32 gallon industrial trash can with a built-in wheel dolly. It's effectively a giant bucket. It's rigid and stable. I was burning through way too much water on an SUV with multiple buckets, and frankly, the wash process was becoming too stressful because I was constantly eyeing my water supply, especially if I added any other decon steps. A couple of buckets isn't enough with the draw, and it's too much to drag outside in addition to the rest of the wash gear. I think the store would benefit from offering a 32 gallon bucket like I've been using, with a spigot attached at the bottom and a QC for the garden hose + a shut off valve for draining. That would be awesome.

I've been waiting patiently for this test video. I took a leap of faith based on intuition from the prerelease videos over at CSW and bought one in February. I just placed an order at OG this week and have a 3.0 Mosmatic nozzle and Griots Foam cannon with the 1.1 orifice coming. I've decided to use the OE hose for now so I also ordered the Prevost Hose Holder for storage. I will be using the OG spec sprayer and wand I got awhile back when I ordered the original Active. My detail cart has 20 gallons of water on board from four military water jugs, two of which are dedicated for distilled water and is easily replenished at my garage. I was using a janky Worx Hydroshot so this summer is gonna be a whole lot of fun washing cars!

Ooof, I almost forgot to add that I upgraded the quick disconnect to the Mosmatic T304 on the gun side of the hose too. I also forgot to mention that I find this mobile pressure washer a decently priced unit because two 6.0Ah batteries by themselves account for more than 75% of the cost. I'd gladly buy another unit for the same price and have twice the amount of batteries!

Great preview Matt, thank you. I’m a weekend warrior living in the northeast. Admittedly I’m surprised to see so many reviews struggling for use case beyond apartments and mobile detailers. I’ve been looking to buy/build out an electric pressure washer system for my home in New England but unfortunately worry about a wall mount solution with temperatures dropping below freezing in the winter months and also worry about the amp load of a system competing with all my other electrical needs in my garage despite being a new construction home. I have lots of lights, tv, chargers, dehumidifiers, etc. I contemplated a dedicated pressure washer cart option using an Active 2.0 or 2.3 but space can be a bit limited in my garage and basement (in the winter months). I’m not set up to wash in my garage, so I need to be prepared to do my cleaning out in a large driveway. I have a very thorough EGO ecosystem including multiple leaf blowers for drying my cars. I just purchased the pressure washer this weekend as it gives me a very quick all season pressure washing capabilities. It’s also relatively quiet, giving me more flexibility to wash earlier in the morning or later in the day to void the process of washing in direct sunlight, the ability to potentially use warm bucket water in cold weather is also appealing. Super excited about adding better OG pressure hoses and potentially shortening the distance from gun to nozzle. And there appears to be a premium foam sprayer with brass body coming in May. I’ve preordered that to see how it dispenses. Thanks again for the review!

I've had the ego pressure washer since it was released and I love it. I can't wait for the ego pressure washer package. Get that worked up on the store, and take my money please! I live in a condo with a garage but no water spigot close. I bought a 25 gallon mixing barrel and elevated it on a shelf in the garage to gravity feed the water into the machine. Added a spigot to the bottom of the barrel and ordered the perfect length hose from the OG store. Plenty of water to complete a wash with quite a bit left over. Again please put that accessory package together.

Purchased an Active 2.3 and its a pretty solid machine. I would have loved an AR630 but I don't have the ability to add a dedicated 20A circuit to my garage at the moment, maybe in the future. I did toss the included accessories and picked up a Griot foam cannon, and the Mosmatic gun / wand kit, also very solid. Pretty happy with everything. I may pickup a cart and build out a wash cart for the garage. With weekly washes on my car and my wifes car, the unit "should" last for years, but we'll see. For $560 (w/ coupon), I am willing to take on this as an experiment.

I don't regret my EGO pressure washer purchase, I did buy the double 12AH batteries from the OG store. The 6s are good, but I tend to like large vehicles. The last thing I want to think of is battery charge. Can't beat the portability, I do detail friends and family cars at their house and this removes the power supply concern far as amp draw and popping a breaker. A lot of people have 15 amp extension cords and wall outlets. I know there is a run time gain with the 12 amp, just curios if the is a performance gain, too. Doubt it, but I don't have measuring devices or the patience to run thru the same tests you run. To me it is either it works or it don't test.

That EGO is perfect for the condo dwellers. The Active looks good for folks that don’t have a 20A circuit. What I appreciate from them is their innovation of the 5 piston pump. Big Boi basically tried to “innovate” with a 4 piston pump. Luckily, neither apply to me as the 1322 I bought from you guys is perfection. It performs great, build quality is second to none, and the sound is pleasant (intangibles).

@@YuriTarded-hf1nv It’s so strange how determined everyone has been to not buy what has worked so well. Is it their whole “enthusiast-facing” marketing approach? Or is the idea at that there must be something better? The 2.0 is/was disposable junk - albeit with a decent warranty - and now active has just gone in a circle to make a pressure washer that costs as much as everything else, but now with a poor reputation for reliability. If you have zero access to 20a service, I suppose there’s something to be said about buying the 2.3 over an AR630TSS, but on the other hand, if cost is the sole reason to avoid a Kranzle - what is going to be your resale potential on an Active 2.3 compared to a Kranzle? I’d suggest just buying a Kranzle used, but they’re not far off MSRP when sold as used. Further, it the 2.3 may be “serviceable” but do consumers have complete and convenient access to all service parts? You could essentially build one buying buying individual parts, that’s a big reason why Kranzles and ARs hold value so well.

@TheRosenbudz. I thought the same exact thing. That headache inducing noise is indicitive of the quality, or lack thereof, of the induction motor. To answer your question, I am telling friends just buy another 2.0 if it dies, or suck it up and buy a Kranzle. I bit the bullet and got a Kranzle. It will bring a smile to your face. Hello everyone I wanted to give you guys my first impressions!! Let me start by saying thank you Active for making the 2.3. I received my 2.3 today. Ordered on Monday and received on Friday @10 am by FedEx. The box was in good shape for the weight of this unit. I attached my 50’ braided hose rated @5000psi to the 2.3 and changed the orfice that active gives you for the after market foam cannon in my case the MTM foam cannon, and started the testing. I bled the line of air and I noticed more water flow from the gun, no nozzle. Using the stubby gun and attached Actives included 25 and 40 degree nozzle to and immediately notice how much more water the unit was pushing and the force of the water….amazing😊 The the MTM foam cannon was next and put maybe 100ml of 3D foam cannon soap to about 300ml of water and the shaving cream of foam was amazing, I could never achieve this quality of shaving cream soap with my 2300psi with 1.2 gal/min old induction pressure washer. As for the loudness of the unit, honestly from my old unit to this one. The 2.3 is infinitely QUIETER. I get the side by side comparisons to the big boi pro and duo that it’s louder. But honestly, the 2.3 is quiet I can talk to people as I work. If any of you guys are on the fence, don’t be, this unit performs and brings detailing to another level…. It’s worth it!!!! With the 10% off and no tax and free shipping from Nevada to California in 4 days from order , this is a win!!!! PS as others have mentioned include myself the pump is rebuildable and parts are replaceable and Active should be coming out soon with DIY videos

Active expand no more exclusivity, make bugger all money, move focus and push back to overpriced high profit lines. You don’t have anything to do with Bigboi so you don’t make money. I am so happy I bit the bullet and spent the money for the Kranzle and didn't wait for the 2.3. Matt, thanks again for a real life, unstaged, authentic, real time test. I am so glad I did not wait for the Active 2.3. Your testing here confirms my same thoughts after using a friend's new 2.3. Quite disappointed. The 2.0 is a real value and appropriate. I have loved using it. When the 2.3 was first announced, I thought it could satisfy my urge for a Kranzle. But then more info was released. It appeared to just be an attempt to make at a higher price point product, with slightly better but similar disposable pump with a noisy Chinese huge induction motor. Note, when Active first announced the 2.3, it said the oil was not changeable and pump not rebuildable. The disappointment in the threads was instantaneous. And loud. So it appears Active came up with a kludge of a fix, without really changing anything. Unbolting the entire pump to pour out the oil is a slipshod attempt to calm the masses. A bit like unbolting the entire oil pan on your car to change the motor oil. Now, having used a 2.0, 2.3 and Kranzle, I cannot see a place for the 2.3. It's not good value. And poorly executed. Huge, noisy, klunky. The 2.0 was unique design: reasonable price, high gpm, medium pressure, appropriate size, for detailing. Kranzle needs no introduction and after the shock of the price wears off, is a distinct pleasure to use every time. And always brings a smile. If Active was trying to build a Kranzle killer, they sorely missed. If anything, the 2.3 shows what a great product and price the 2.0 is. The 2.3 is neither.

Yes, the 2.3 was sitting on top of an industrial roller cart in the driveway, next to us, so we could examine it, and rollit over to each of our cars. Having it on the cart next to us made it easy to examine, adjust, switch hoses, without getting on our knees. It was far louder than any universal motor PW in our experience. A retired engineer from Siemens jokingly suggested it needed to be an accoustical enclosure, such as one does for a 60 gallon air compressor.

@@YuriTarded-hf1nv I disagree. Active announced in their YTs months ago that the final product was not serviceable. and you could not change oil. Then there was huge disappointment from those of us that were waiting for the 2.3 because it looked like the 2.3 was little more than a twice as big and twice as expensive 2.0 with a huge frame. THEN, Active changed reacted to the negative comments, changed their tune and said: guess what, it is serviceable. Saying it is serviceable does not make it so. As an engineer, the pump is clearly NOT made to be serviced, its disposable like most Chinese job shop consumer equipment. Serviceability is BUILT IN from the get go, NOT added on after its made. Would you consider your car engine serviceable if to change the oil, you had to unbolt 18 13mm bolts, pry off the entire oil pan, spill out the oil in the pan, then refill the oil pan, and hold the oil pan full of oil up to lower block and then reattach 18 13mm bolts?
