I used to accidently make crawling glazes all the time and now I just brush on the glaze in thin layers to have a nice smooth finish! It's something about the thickness of the glaze and the tension between it and the ceramic that makes it crawl instead of lay flat :)

I have an idea to use the cracked glaze as a faux finish, in a sienna color, in order to make a flower pot look like it was cracked and then plant succulents. Kind of a play on the desert dryness theme. Or maybe as a glaze ontop to a bunch of crushed tile to make a mosaic. 🤔

Did you guys do fit testing for your masks? I work with welders who wear them 10+ hours a day with toxic fumes and they don't have the same level of discomfort and marks on their faces that you do. It might be a little too tight? Though I wouldn't advise loosening it without doing a smell test. Too tight is better than accidentally loose when you're dealing with chemicals you don't want to inhale.

There's an actual training session for this, but you could probably get away with just doing the test by applying the mask to your face and spraying perfume. I love ceramics, when I took ceramics we didn't learn to mix our glazes. They were premade because they are very expensive. A bag of clay was $90.
