Very cool, definitely a gem to hang on to! It is interesting how many variations of the W124 AMG front bumper there are. I especially like the early versions with the deleted fog lights. This is my first time seeing one without the notched middle. Looks sleek! Amazing looking interior too. Amazing find.

When I was in college, a friend and myself went to an AMG of NA dealership. They had a Navy AMG Hammer in the showroom. While my buddy was drooling over all the cars at the facility, for a solid 30 minutes I did nothing but walk around and admire that car. I had both of those magazines, the one with the Black Hammer and the Worlds Fastest Car edition, so I knew all about them. I've never been much into MB, but this was more than a Mercedes. It was special and it still is

I own a 190e. Nothing special, a 2.6. I love it so much. But, my absolute DREAM car is a Hammer. Idc if it’s w124 or a Baby Hammer w201. Just any hammer. But I live in the real world. I’m working on acquiring parts to make a Baby Hammer clone body wise. And am shooting to swap an m119 v8 maybe. So it would be close. It pains me that I will never be able to have one, most likely. So clone it is. This is THE car. It’s exactly every and anything I would ever want or need. It is rolling artwork. Guess if my dad owned a slew of Lamborghinis I’d have a better shot!! Ahaha KIDDING! Congrats man. Im just a little jealous over here.

Love this W124 indeed. However at 1:56 the gauge shows a post merger ///AMG and the pre merger (which this car is supposed to be) gauge just had AMG at 1:01. Anyone know why the owner changed them out?

AMG got to build two of the craziest hypercars in the last 30 years, one of which is an F1 powertrain with a street legal body. AMG got to build the powertrain of the most dominant F1 team in the past decade. It’s business, of course Daimler will have them do shit they might not be 100% with, They’re still coming up with some of the batshit crazy projects like they used to make in the past. It’s a win win situation. Besides AMG’s founders were engineers at Daimler-Benz who wanted to start the project within the company but weren’t given the green light so they went on their own, until Daimler-Benz realised their mistake and partnered with them then bought them out out right.

The black one does not do that vehicle any justice. Quentin "Footz" Davidson, of SE Washington, DC owned one of the candy-apple red ones. It was highlighted in an 1987 Road & Track article and also in the 1987 Road Track Exotic Cars #6 magazines. Footz was killed in 1994. I texted his son who stated that the feds seized his vehicle. I’ve always wondered ‘til this day where that vehicle is today. Research it.
