I can't believe what having an A1 must feel like as your first 3D Printer, my first printer was a kit you put together from the extruder to the wooden (!!!) frame. We've gone from CoreXY printers to overpriced junk to bargain basement junk BACK to CoreXY and now finally for the first time since 2009 we've seen innovation in a field that no matter how much you spend was still just the same parts in a different configuration. We came very close to having a truly off the shelf printer with the Adventurer 3 by Flashforge but the A1 (and more so with the mini) is two or three steps closer and is ALMOST there. They've shaken up the market and made some companies look very very VERY long in the tooth and exposed complete lack of innovation for years by market leaders

For a change the hype is justified with the Bambu lab printers and the printing environment that Bambu lab have created around it is by far the best for first time purchasers. My first was prusa mk3s because it was the best, well 2 failed and third works but I gave up on prusa. While the prusa saga was ongoing I bought the Creality Ender 3 s1 which worked but needed a large learning curve to get printing reliably. Years later Bambu lab launched the x1c which I pre-order and I wish it was my first printer. I also have a number of the A1, A1 minis and P1S. My favourite to use is the A1 for just ease of maintenance. Great choice fora first printer 🎉

I recommend printing the Silk Tower Test model on Maker World for each of your filaments so you can see what different speeds due to the exterior finish of prints. The model isn't just for silk PLA despite its name as I use it for all types of filament such as translucent PETG, sparkle PLA filament, you name it. I also print a tower in the default temp and then a little hotter (like 10c) to see the difference that makes as well and it sometimes makes a big difference (especially on 3rd party translucent PETG). You will find most Bambu Lab filament doesn't need speed or temp tweaking unless you are going for a specific look, like you want the black PLA to be as shiny as you can. Meanwhile 3rd party filaments, especially those not rated for high speed which the Bambu Lab PLA is, can benefit from some speed and temp tweaking. Welcome to the addiction... I mean club. 🙂

It came with a mount for a single spool but I don't believe the mount the AMS up there although I have seen files in the app/on Maker Lab but I saw on the official Discord server the other day where someone's flipped over during a print when they had it mounted on top because putting that much weight up there changed the center of gravity enough to make it a bit unstable. Ryan: I am not as thrilled as you are with Bambu Lab. My software is not behaving well together. Studio asks for a 6 digit code in m 'Account' directory on the printer. It does not exist. There is no clear, step by step, printing instruction video with the three methods of printing. Directly from Studio, 'send' to the SD card or from my computer and the App. (the app seems really useless). I have managed to print a bunch, but in a round about manner. I think the firmware and the software are not at the correct level.
@RyanMercer18 күн бұрын
I did have a bit of trouble getting it initially connected, if I remember correctly it didn't like that I had used my google account for single sign on to create my account with them and I had to go manually register with an email for it to then work correctly. @@RyanMercer It turns out that Bambu software really like to run a while before everything works together. A couple of firmware updates. Now it works really well. I could print with a raft. I hate pulling that stuff off.

@@bbrachman Try using an adhesive like Magigoo amzn.to/4fdNYNk or nano polymer visionminer.com/products/nano-polymer-adhesive-sample?bg_ref=VHs3yeIKd9 as tall stuff really likes to come loose on a bed slinger like the A1, the NES cartridge tower I did in another video had the purge tower come off with several hours left, but I didn't use adhesive. Not been able to tinker with a 3d printer is a terrible idea, how long has bambu labs been going how many printers do they sell and what happens when they stop making a printer. Bambu Lab are a pretty well respected brand and are considered class leading by a lot of people in the 3d printer space. I think their sales reflect this. They are not one of the thousands of cheap brands that may be gone tomorrow. In terms of the hot end in particular, it is such an easy swap process, that you can easily do it between every print if needed.
