The scene is goofy and "comical" compared to the rest of the movie when it speaks about the issues of gender roles. While the rest of the movie has the women talk about their issues about the partiarchy in a very serious tone, this scene is just goofy. This scene is just a meme, a funny, comical insight into the world of Ken. Don't get me wrong, some of the issues of the song that it addresses are fine. But, honestly, is the audience going to see this message compared to the screen time the women get? Or will they just go "haha, Ken funni". It displays men's issues as an afterthought, something that is just in the background just to get critics to "shut up". Saying someone is "Ken-ough" isn't going to help modern when the whole movie up to this point has been antagonizing them. Look again at the scene where the women speak about their issues as they formulate a plan to take down the Kens. It's clear as day what their issues are and it's supposed to give a serious tone that is meant for audience to clap their hands and relate to the message. This screentime for males just simply doesn't happen for the Kens. They are dumb, stupid, jocks just like Will Ferell and those white males over at Mattel. Why must men always be seen as the "abusers" while all of our custody battles are almost always baised towards women? Finally, after this song happened in the movie, the barbies finally took over due to this scene. The Barbies literally manipulate the men's feelings throughout the story just to get what they want. And so, once they have their feelings expressed for just five minutes, they are suddenly cast down to the lower classes of society, making them seem like dumb idiots once more for even showing a fraction of emotion. This song is nothing more than a meme. And maybe this was not the intention of the movie, I don't know. But, all I see is what is being shown. And that message is clear, men's problems in modern america, like our custody battles and our high suicide rates, are just an afterthought and not something that should be taken seriously in the modern era.

the plot structure was horrible. there’s no way the writers made a plot and wrote down every major event in order without seeing how stupid it was. they didnt even achieve the main goal or try to work towards it which was equality for women in the real world.
@Bella_640 Жыл бұрын
@@jackweber3660 Because the main point of the film was to talk about social inequality and the difficulties of women in society as a form of awareness and the film does this extremely well, in addition to being funny too. The real truth is that it is very difficult to destroy structural s3xism so it would be unrealistic and stupid for them to try to "fix" the real world. Instead the film talks about the issues as a form of awareness and a way for women to love themselfs more despite living in such a difficult world for women, it is a film made by women for women, you missed the ENTIRE point of the film, but if you're a man I won't complain after all it's very difficult for you to really understand.

@@Bella_640 i watched it very intently and it’s just sooo difficult to get over the corniness of the film becoming serious at sudden points to try and make “deep” scenes. i guess it makes sense that it’s more of a spreading awareness kind of thing, but god it was an awful attempt at feminism. none of the characters are likable nor relatable. barbie is spoiled, that kid is a brat, the mom is selfish, etc. the whole film is layed out like a magical realism novel, the characters are bland, it calls out random details that are unnecessary to the story, and it’s just horrible plot structure. i just cant get over how horribly they executed it… i think the directors must’ve been trying to do something “different”. they should’ve just stuck with the heroes journey.

Man, I can’t wait to see this masterpiece re-enacted at the Oscars! The live performance better be wild and full on Kenergy! They better not disappoint us with a mid show! I don’t care if the song wins (although it should), I just want to see this song performed in its entire glory, cause it just deserves it.

@aditimisra8011 ай бұрын
What's great about this song is that despite the fact that it saltarted out with the Kens fighting each other, in the end they all unite becaise at some point they realize that they were not really mad at each other but just trying to define themselves and find meaning. Kind of similar to how women in the real world are often pitted against each other, but have over time have realised that being supportive of each other is much better and that its not each other that we need to fight.
