Use a superfine sharpie to draw designs on the outside edges of the base, mandala style, to make it look more mature, hang it on the wall, then each year, just before her next birthday, decorate one letter and its surrounding area with small photos of you all and key words for treasured memories of that year. If I read the spelling right, this will last through to when she is twelve turning thirteen and thus will become a memory of her childhood, ending when she transitions to a teeneager.

Sign over her door or bed. If she has "grown out of it," put it over the door from the garage into the house. Making the letters magnetic or tacking them down is a good idea, before hanging. Considering the global sociopolitical climate I say prepare for self defense. File each letter into a "shank". Mount it above your door so you're well prepared for home invasions. That's my first thought. But on a less violent and more legal recommendation, take the letter and make a wreath with them, then paint the empty spaces where the letters were or fill them with some neat textured deco stuff. Oh and use fake flowerrs on the wreath. You get two art projects out of one piece of useless tripping hazard. On another violent suggestion: glue the pieces down and use it as a baseball bat *shrugs*
