I’ve been watching tons of reaction videos for this song and this is one of my favorites so far. Also really enjoying the vocal coach / singer reactions where they’re like “wait how is she doing all this?!!” cuz then I feel totally justified in *my* initial reaction to it. First time I heard this, I kid you not, I cried for an hour and felt destroyed for the better part of 2 days. I was so blown away and felt like ... wtf just happened to my brain? What have I been doing with my life if I wasn’t watching this? It’s so powerful. She’s crazy good.

This doesn't even scratch the surface of what Haley can do. She can sing anything. She can slay these vintage remakes and act out a character at the same time (see PMJ covers of "Oops I did it again" and "Seven Nation Army"). She absolutely tears it up on rock songs and can sing sweet as an angel (her Extra Gum commercial, singing "I can't help falling in love with you"). She's got some great material of her own, too. She's something else. Oh, and she came in third on American Idol.

Kathy here - first, I just found your channel and for this to be the first video I saw you react to was priceless! I love it! Your appreciation for a different genre type of style for this song was great. If you like Haley, you need to check out her songs she did on American Idol. I don't know why she didn't win; except I don't think she was "wholesome" enough for the viewers! I think she is a phenom in singing and deserves more recognition for her talents.

The reaction you have to this song and video, is the same reaction I have and have had for the last 700+ times I have watched it, I love the way it takes you so far beyond expectation, that you have to stop and recover yourself, then rewind and it still hits just as hard, if not harder than the first time, even though you know what's coming next. Vintage jazz club aesthetics....yes. The story goes that PMJ sent Haley the musical composition and she came in and did this in one take. I don't know how true that is, but the way this song feels like lightning in a bottle that would not surprise me in the least. This woman is a phenomenal singer.

They didn't send the composition to Haley. She recorded it as part of their first European tour. To keep to their schedule of releasing a music video a week they re-recorded songs originally performed by other artists on a day off. This version of "Creep" in which they used Haley's first take and "All About That Bass" as a group number. Wise choices as they are now the #1 and #2 videos on the PMJ channel.

When I first heard this, I went looking for more songs she's covered. I found out she competed on American Idol and actually made it pretty far. I highly suggest you react to her performance of "House of the Rising Sun". Goosebumps galore! Definitely one of the best covers I've ever heard.

Haley Reinhart has a once-in-a-generation voice. I discovered her through PMJ just over a year ago, with Creep probably the third song by her I listened to. She really is incomparable, in so many ways -- not just her voice. I've listened to this cover probably hundreds of times since I discovered it, and every time it brings tears to my eyes -- it's a true masterpiece! But Haley is much more than just PMJ, or American Idol before it. Her own music is incredible.
