Hey guys! I just wanted to share this since I'm getting some comments related to consuming animal products... I do believe God created animals and their milk for human food as well as feeding their young. This is the verse I base that off of. Just wanted to share because of course I respect someones decision not to eat/drink animal products if it's for personal health reasons etc. but I also think it was God's intention for us to consume them as well. However I do NOT think they should be tortured in the process which is why I want to learn where to purchase dairy products from animals that have been taken care of. "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat." This is Genesis 9:3 My understanding of this verse is that God provided animals and plants for humans to eat. The second half is clarifying not to eat human flesh. I'm NOT here to argue about this topic but thought I would share this to clarify my view on it since I didn't specifically mention it in the video :)

You might have more success with oat milk as opposed to almond milk. It is sweeter and thicker. Also try making homemade almond milk just to try it because it is soooo much tastier! If you want minimal ingredients then most organic plantbased milks are just the base ingredient plus water x
@KimBirdwondersChannel Жыл бұрын
Hi Cara, i just want to say that it’s not necessarily a problem if you don’t know all ingredients in a food, foods with more complex ingredient lists are not necessarily always less healthy than than certain whole foods. Especially dairy, even raw dairy, is in itself of course not “meant” for human consumption, but meant to make baby cows grow. It is not the healthiest food for humans, and is linked to cell growth and has saturated fats (unhealthy). I think an organic plantbased milk option, especially the sugar free ones with relatively short ingredient lists are the most healthy choice.
@xorayne_ Жыл бұрын
agree i feel like she might be getting her information from unreliable sources. humans don’t need cows milk, we’re not cows
@KimBirdwondersChannel Жыл бұрын
@@xorayne_ yes there are a lot of unreliable sources that are promoting dairy nowadays, and are actually even funded by dairy companies and the things they are saying are not backed up by science at all. Instead they try to have people act with emotions by asking things like: ‘do you know all the ingredients?!’ While not knowing something does not make it wrong or in this case, unhealthy.

Hey Cara! Just wanted to say that in my experience, and I’ve heard others say this as well, almond milk and coffee just don’t go well together for some reason. My favorite combo for coffee is coconut cream (I use the Thai Kitchen brand) and maple syrup. I love hearing that you are learning more about where your food comes from. I’ve been forced to for many years now due to health issues. I love Lisa at Farmhouse on Boone. I think eating a good variety of foods in as close a state as possible to how God made them, is the healthiest way to eat and that is how she cooks. She has great videos here on KZbin and also a great podcast called Simple Farmhouse Life. I love my cast iron pans but there is definitely a learning curve with them and she has a lot of great tips about that as well.

I'm sorry the homemade coffee creamer recipe didn't work out! It's so true that we think almond milk is a better option, but so many of them have such crap ingredients. I am vegan, Leo is dairy-free, Austin eats limited dairy, and we do almond and oat milk. I look for ones that are zero sugar and contain just the oats or almonds, salt, and water. There are definitely some good brands out there. If cow milk is something you and Eric are interested in consuming, I would definitely say look into a local organic farm. Just sharing my thoughts as someone with a background in agriculture…all of your animal products (meat, eggs, dairy, etc.) in the store are required to follow the same laws and regulations for safety as local producers. It’s important to do your research for your own family on what benefits buying local agriculture products can have (which believe me there are many!!) however I just wanted to help stop the misconception that the “store bought” products are less healthy or more dangerous than those bought locally. Once again definitely not arguing the point that buying and supporting local farmers is beneficial because it definitely is! Also not trying to attack anyone for any opinions they may have. We are all learning, and I think it’s great more consumers are trying to learn more about their food sources and how production is done! With less than 2% of the nation working in agriculture, the average consumer is so far removed from the farm or ranch and we are working hard to bridge that gap :)

I've found that oat milk tastes really good in coffee! My husband swears by A2 milk. Regular milk contains both A1 and A2 beta-casein, but A2 milk contains only A2 beta-casein.Studies suggest that A1 beta-casein may be harmful and that A2 beta-casein is a safer choice.
