Could you make an in depth video about why you chose to leave Kremlin Ballet, what your next chapter in life consists of and what your ambitions are? Would be very interested in hearing about that!
@flotteluft7 жыл бұрын
I think the reasons are what has become apparent for many months: that some members of the Kremlin Ballet didn't like her filming there and that she's much more famous than the others. So it was probably envy which made some people stir hatred against Joy.

@@flotteluft you really wanna believe that, don't you? If you know Russia and Russian ballet, the competition level is unimaginable. She is very good, yes. But in Russia she has not attained the level she wanted to attain. She is among the very best in the West, but there she couldn't be among the top, at least not where she wanted. To be in the Russian ballet you have to conform to so much more. Russian sports is tough and to be the best is almost impossible.

Sending you all my love and support and praying for you during this time of transition - I understand it's bittersweet; but you're opening a new chapter in your life - be open to it and try not to resist new and different experiences; when I was your age, I went through a huge transitional period and at the time it all felt overwhelmingly scary and foreign: but now - 6 years later I'm at one of the happiest points in my life. You're already so much stronger than I ever was. I pray for you always and I wish you nothing but safety, happiness, and positive growth -- I pray your talent is nurtured and recognized for all that it is. All my love, prayers, and best wishes. I haven't watched this video yet, but I just wanted to jump in here and tell you how much I've missed you! I stopped watching vlogs about a year ago to focus more on my own mental health. I just saw the notification that you posted a video, saw the title, and thought, "What?! I have a lot to catch up on!" So that's what I'm doing right now. After watching one video from where I left off last October , I remember how much, and why, I enjoyed watching them. You are such an inspiration, in so many ways. I haven't taken a ballet class since last winter (depression really is a beast), and I missed World Ballet Day for the first time in years, but I am eager to get back to the barre now. And that's just from watching ONE video! So thank you. Thank you for being you, for putting yourself out there, being open with your struggles, and sharing your passion with us. I can't wait to see what you've been up to in the last year, and look forward to where you'll go from here. Lots of love!!!

I'm Russian and I have to say that I hate Moscow people, not all, but majority that I've met were cold hearted and rude. I hope your experience in Moscow won't paint a bad picture of Russia altogether. I even avoid travelling through Moscow. I've watched a few of your videos from the past, and I'm truly sorry you had to experience so many hardships and people mistreating you. I never expected this attitude towards Americans, I'd understand it coming from older generations who still got the cold war mentality, not the youth. I feel like, most of them are on a high horse, thinking that being in the Royal Russian ballet puts them on top of the world, and you being there, a foreigner, could take that away from them, so they treat you this way due to jealousy. Not realizing that it just makes them terrible people. Best of luck to you Joy, you are a good person! I hope you'll get to meet more good people in our country and really experience it differently.

The best of luck in all the world in your new adventures. Good for you not to shut the door on the Kremlin Ballet completely but smart to be a guest artist "of my company". I believe in never shutting any door if one can help it There will be times when you will be thirsty for wanting to visit your company of origin for many reasons and for that matter Russia and the friends you have there. You are part Russian the minute it became your home and went through all you went through the good and the bad. The country is infectious for many reasons. You are an American as well as a Russian and that having two countries is fantastic. You were introduced to Russia as a young 15-year-old and because of your immense talent and was given the VIP treatment having assigned to you a top teacher. If any viewer is confused all they have to see is that video in the Bolshoi school video that was made first------ my most favorite video of all time. In that video one can see what you are made of period. Much love to you!!!!! John

@monsieurkot58583 жыл бұрын
What that means? What's wrong with russian ppl?
@mihailfelixdumitresc3 жыл бұрын
@@monsieurkot5858 Nothing wrong with Russians , but when you are an American in Russia, everything is difficult: the training methods, the language barrier, making friends, understanding the local culture, etc. Especially the training methods are very tough, demanding to the extreme and coaches don't give a damn on how you feel when you are at the end of your physical limits. I have watched documentaries about Russian gymnasts girls and the stories are between unbelievable and horror. How they got abused when they were having a bad day and how they were punished when they challanged what the coach asked them to do. In a few words: a lot of abuse: physical, mental, emotional. The underlying assumtion of the training method is that a person cannot give their best unless being "squeezed" to the extreme. Also, another sad conclusion is that the individual doesn't matter; what matters is the performance of the group, at any costs. These are Soviet methods and, in my opinion, in the 21-st century, coaches with such mentality should be sent to Siberia to train penguins and sea lions, not human beings. Yes, good performances are likely to happen after thousands of practice hours, because human bodies trained this way become performance machines. Do I care about these performances when I know how ballet dancers/athlets/gymnasts/etc are being trained /treated ? No, not at all. Performance should not be achieved at ANY COSTS. Those girls one day become mothers and that means their bodies will be subjected to a lot of transformations. But afters years and years of hursh training, apart from broken ankles, joints, muscles, fingers, knees, shoulders, God knows how well they will be able to tackle motherhood. In this case, the American girl chose conciously to join a Russian team, so it was her decision. The fact that she remained for a while, again, was her choice, so nothing wrong about Russia or Russians. I also watched a documentary about Igor Moiseyev ballet dancers, whom I really love, and the story was pretty much the same: endless hours of tough training EVEN IF THEY ARE IN PAIN from rehearsals, because if you don't do it, someone else will take your place and they will do it , at least for a while. I am 100% against this kind of attitude towards performance. I stopped appreciating Russian performance of any kind , long ago. Because it is "obtained" AT ANY COSTS. I do not care how well they perform in competitions, I do not care if and when they are number one in any field of sports, dancing, etc. Those people' s lives were torn apart by medieval training methods and I care more about their suffering than about their performances. Performances come and go, but suffering remains forever. This is what I see when I watch Russian performance: PAIN.

To the negative comments; I think so many youtube followers have no better things to do with their lives than to dictate and feel deserving to suck all the joy out of youtubers. People change. Get over it. Also she has had to put with a much more challenging environment/team for years... many of you commenting wouldnt...even for a week... and you would DEFINITELY b*tch till the end...... I just feel like her having us as fans is as much of a joy as well as a curse. People wants everything ....... just think of your own life. Also people treat each other far worse than than you could possibly imagine...(yet happily invite pets indoors and treat them like royals. They need fairness not superior treatments).... #JustSaying
@sonjameyerhofer97037 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Fairness is the thing what we miss in this case, sorry. Treat a cat like a feeling creature or like a royal, there is a big, big difference. And use words which are offensive for people is the same topic. But there so many comments which starts with good wishes etc nevertheless.When she takes time to tell us, that she ist leaving (after so many videos of struggle, complaining and sometimes tears) but unfortunately nothing else - is it really "sucking out the joy" what we do when we ask or wonder? The Prima-Friends who are adressed in every video to support what she is doing in several ways? I think she is interested in honest comments not in bootlicking. Nobody got rude, nobody gave her names or anything like that. Just honest comments of people who care.

OMG cat people, he wasn't abusing the animal. Yeah he wasn't playing with him like he would a baby, but it's not abusive either. It's a different culture, different way of life and while there are people who treat pets like they're made of glass, most play "rough". There are moments where you spoil an animal, but this is clearly playful. There is no malice and I'm sure he spun the cat a couple of times only, even because the cat himself wouldn't allow for more.
@OlgaRykov9 ай бұрын
I like how sanctimonious everyone is, coming from a culture that films using a cat like a machine gun. And as someone put it "hitting the cat on the head" is like saying that bopping a dog on the nose is "hitting them on the nose". If people want to slander and dehumanize another person - they will, no matter what. They will find a way.

I did not know you were the type that thinks it is funny to torment a kitten. All this time and you can"t even give us a decent explanation on what has happened.

Tina McCann she makes strange videos. Doesn’t say much just shoots 3/4 of an entire video showing absolutely nothing. Never gives explanations. I’ve watched her for about 6 months trying to sink my teeth into something but it’s just not going to happen. I just unsubscribed.

Wow, I always thought it´s just me (that i missed a Video or because of my poor English) that I don´t really get all together and all informations. And sometimes I don´t get the humour either... Good to know it´s the same for others...

Rebecca & Sonja I have been a subcriber for a few of years now and this past year has been very odd. Joy has great drive, determination and good work ethic --- she has accomplished a great deal and is quite admirable in her accomplishments. According to her, this past year Kremlin Ballet has cracked down on her vlogging. She has had some injuries. She seems to be in a struggle to work out a path for her future. Even so, I think she has been playing cat and mouse with her viewers which translates that she has contempt or little regard for us. The few times she as reappeared after a long absence, and has been a little more candid, is when she is trying to sell products. This last video with no decent explanation and the laughing session while tormenting a young cat is the last straw and I too have unsubscrided.

Part of professionalism is not trash talking people behind their backs, esp onto a public forum. I see Joy's silence as an indicator of professionalism. She may be able to share more now that she has completed her last day with the company, or she may decide to keep that information private on a permanent basis. It's clear that there was a breakdown in her relationship with her coach and other people in the company, but up until now, she has had to see these people regularly. So why make things even more awkward by blasting them on social media?

One thing is to talk behind someones back - another ist to share informations about your plans. It´s already anounced (days ago) that she will go to the Universal Balett. But not here. Just an example oft informaton that would not offend peoble at all.

This video is about a major life change and all anyone can think about is that darn cat. I'm sure the cat is alive and well at Masha's house right now

Sure, but it's no way to treat an animal. Bet you'd be freaking out if that was another person or a kid being flung around like that. It's really not funny nor is it entertaining. It's sad and really disappointing. Animals are not toys.

Joy, I wish you would explain, how/where you are going to next.. Kind of left hanging over here!!!!

Joy was telling about her move after years of ballerina course in Kremlin. Nevertheless the comments here mostly discussing about the tormented cat, even the cat seems fine and comfort. The expression of the guy is so awful, looked like he would eat the cat later after shaking it like softdrink can. LOL

You have out grown them. As hard as it is to leave the familiar for the unknown, you need to move on and move up. Good luck!

I’m leaving before I see a cat abused as I saw in the comments. You look very unhappy btw.

I don't think I have enough vile words to say about anyone who stands by while an animal is treated like that. Your story and you were interesting to me until I saw this.
