kelly and ashley's both had unbelievably supportive families their entire lives, and elliot's mentioned he has strained relationships with his, always having screaming fights etc, and i really empathise with him here. he never had the familial support system so he naturally would put his friends on a higher level of importance and its so so tough to face the reality that they don't view you the same way, even worse that they won't and literally can't understand why he feels this way. i think this is a very common sentiment in (full) asian households and maybe i'm projecting but i really do see why he felt that betrayed. especially since he and kelly were best friends for so much longer than kashley's been together. plus kelly mentioned he was the first one elliot told about how he's been feeling the past few months, so it does show that elliot still sees him as number one, if that makes any sense. though not discounting his lack of communication and wilddd mistreatment towards ashley, i do think elliot should probably get therapy if he hasn't already (not in a he's a shit person and needs to be fixed) but more so that he has a lot of emotional baggage and should learn how to process and regulate his emotions in a healthier way, that doesn't end up with him bottling up till it explodes and burns more bridges. (Saw this comment from reddit and thought its well spoken about this situation)

@@JackH2254 I'd recommend giving Kelly's new video a watch - apparently Ashley had spoken to the whole house about her and Kelly's eventual relationship (they were flirting before they signed the lease) and offered to live by herself if the house wasn't comfortable with them eventually dating. So it really wasn't kashley that ruined the house, but just different priorities and growing secret resentment on Elliot's part that led to Elliot straight up telling Kelly that he hated Ashley and that she didn't deserve any equity in their new company.

I personally don't see any shade. Elliot may have not posted an ending video with ashely and kelly because he wanted to show his perspective- not theirs. For him, leaving the house wasn't just physically moving out- It was starting a new chapter. For ashely and kelly, they're still going to be together and probably make the same content as they always- keeping ur mom's house spirit alive but in another location. Anyways this is their relationship and their lives and I don't think we should victimize anyone. To be honest working with people who are your friends can be difficult and eventually there were going to be some issues between one another. The way they broke up isn't the worse and I'm kinda glad we get to see both perspectives. However, perspective comes with biases. As viewers who didn't witness the full picture of their relationship: we should respectfully accept their decisions without hating on any of them.

It's an assumption a mass of people are making that Elliot released his video 1st to make his own narrative and that one simple part of the video is shade or is what started the beef. This video before Kelly and Ashleys was just someone sharing their journey with the house, their feelings and emotions along the way and them putting it into cinematic videography and story telling. Saying he started resenting his best friends was context from the prior moments and thoughts in the video so people could understand how he emotionally and mentally. Also since UMH was already pretty much done at that point and the damage behind the scenes in their friendships had already been done, he didn't owe it to them to post at the same day and time as them. Especailly since it was a pretty emotionally charged journey for him he could have posted it first because he just wanted to post it, get it over with and be done and move on instead of waiting to post it later with the others. People have shit to do outside of these videos and you have no idea what was going on behind the scenes for him. That assumption that he did it to fit a narrative came only because it was mentioned by Kelly and ashley. It's also an assumption that " Elliot made it seem like he was the only one leaving". Elliot could have posted his video early or the same time as them and it would have made no difference essentially. The only reason beef became public was due to the response in Kelly's video in the middle of the edit as well as the one he did with Ashley. Had he just posted his video without an edit of that in the middle talking about Elliot we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. Response from Kelly seemed more on a create and control the narrative move as it was more reactionary. You gotta keep in mind...US watching Elliots video vs Kelly watching it carrys an insanely different meaning and understanding. This is both of their lives and It seems Kelly wasn't thinking from a viewers perspective, it was from his own due to the experience and interactions they've had within the last few months. Kelly didn't have to make that edit in his video which kinda backfired on him pretty heavily and then they had to make another video to control that fire Kelly started in his edit. Posting when emotionally charged can make things worse and really expose public beef that people probably wouldn't have know anywhere near that extend or even at all if he didn't post 2 response. I also felt like after Anne Marie left there was no longer a strong dynamic. With all four in the beginning, you could tell how passionate & fun they were working together in their videos. Not just as creators, but as great friends. At some point in time, I remember feeling the house’s content going towards a certain direction and things were feeling off. Not much after, Anne Marie announced that she was leaving & when she did the house content changed fully. In the beginning it felt like watching 4 friends just documenting memories and adventures together, now the house has been feeling like watching individual youtubers who post unrelated group content who just by chance live with fellow youtubers. I just wish Elliot the best of luck. Edit: I adore every past roommate and am excited to see where they all go in time :) This though is not a thing of who “succeeds the fastest or greatest” but witnessing the content house progression in giving that feeling of community felt somewhat lost [“community” & “dynamic” go hand in hand]. That is a quality I believe is very valuable to withhold in a creator household.

I really love how transparent and vulnerable you are. The easy way out would be to just say “oh you know, things change, etc” to avoid confrontation but you actually are open and honest with how you feel. You’re direct and face things head on, instead of sugarcoating. Honestly, that takes a LOT of courage in being true to oneself. To the people commenting things like “Well, so and so kept making videos and kept it pushing, and Elliot didn’t, so he can’t complain.” You guys are dense and obviously DON’T GET IT. This is exactly what Elliot had an issue with - content over their actual friendship. He says “We were so focused on making videos together that we forgot to focus on what actually mattered, just hanging out and having fun eith each other, and not just when we needed to film.” It sounds like there was no longer a connection there, and Elliot made efforts to get it back, and he couldn’t and that’s when he decided it was time to move on.

I agree...and I relate to Eliot's experience pretty closely because I had really really really good 3 friends and we were friends throughout whole past 10 years continuously, we had fun, we cried, we did stupid things, we studied, we argued, we fought and made up just in minutes. Even others told us that we were together since they know any of us and it's an amazing friendship we have. But last few years we got another two friends and things were even more fun.. then old friend and new friend started a relationship and just forgot others and only used others to make their way for romance, and they even made fun of others and said we were jealous of them, they changed really fast that I couldn't even believe it. Unbelievable thing is old friend played the victim even tho that person started that and became mean all alone. Then they broke up and our friend group became really awkward and so we unknowingly stopped hanging out. Then my other old friend started changing since she went to another college and I still love her so much and try to keep the friendship through texts and stuff but she wouldn't respond for weeks. Remaining ones also moving with their lives individually as if nothing happened. I think I'm the only one hurting, thinking, missing my friends and trying. Maybe true friendship was never there? May be people changed? Maybe they all found better people? I'm still processing. But I figured every bad thing happened for good as Eliot said I won't attach and trust my future friends like last time no matter how good they are, humans change really fast I won't let other hurt me who don't even care about me. So Eliot I loved all of you in ur mom's house and not judging any of you because we don't really know what's going on others life, but I just want to let you know I understand you and wish you all the best.

Everyone's glazing over the fact that they're not just roommates, they were all BUSINESS PARTNERS. They’re not the average friends that decided to move in because they wanted to live together. The initial intent of them moving in together is business based-to form a content house and create content together, but featuring their own creative styles. This makes them business partners as well. There’s nothing inherently wrong with dating a roommate, but once kashley started to veer away from the initial house content to heavily monetize on their relationship content, they’ve broken the business agreement they all made for moving into the house together in the first place. This type of relationship and dynamic requires a level of professionalism because they’re not just friends, they’re business partners that agreed to come together on this business venture (the content house). The collaborative effort at the beginning was evident in the content that they were all putting out. I think at some point, Kashley saw how well their relationship videos were doing, and naturally they started to lean into that more and eventually created a substantial amount of videos surrounding the two of them. I don't believe that this was an abrupt choice that they made one day, but rather something that they allowed to gradually grow and fester to become what it is now. The house content becomes less and less and the relationship content becomes more and more. And how does this happen? it's because Kashley's efforts are now geared more towards working with one another to create relationship content than it is with other members in the house. Good business mandates that once all parties agree to terms, those terms need to be upheld. When one business partner, in this case two, decides to change those terms, that’s unprofessional and bad business. The issue isn't that roommates started dating, the issue is that that Kashley couldn't separate between personal and business.

Personally, I watched Kelly’s video first and he made me think it was messed up bc he phrased it as if Elliot schemed to release his video first to make Ashley & Kelly look a certain way bc he said “he knew what he was doing” but now that I watch this video and remember how well you treated Annemarie when she visited, how you still speak kindly about her, how this video is about you starting a new chapter. I realize Ashley and Kelly wanted to release a video all 3 at the same time because they have their own thing where they release a similar video at the same time about the same thing in their own perspectives. I just wanted to say that it's a complicated situation from all sides. I can only imagine how unmatched expectations, loneliness and mental pressure feel. It's quite sad that the narrative that we - viewers - were able to get was not complete and omitted a number of crucial moments. And the timeline was perceived differently because of that. It doesn't deny the fact that there were episodes of miscommunication and hurting each other. And I'm damn sad because of all this. I loved watching every member of UrMomsHouse and I can tell that these episodes helped me to go through probably the hardest part of my own life. But i honestly think that the narrative in elliot's video was coming from a very different perspective like isolation, burn out, being in a content creator house but not really a thing happening to make videos, loneliness ..... Because of this, I think it's hard to sustain content creation households for an extended length of time. We all likely knew it wasn't permanent, but the fact that it was so fleeting may have shocked us more. Such a house needs everyone to be on equal footing and valued accordingly in order to function. I know it seems a little naive, but I definitely saw the life span being shortened once Kelly and Ashely got together. At that point all it would take would be for either Annemarie or Elliot to leave first, before inevitably kicking off a chain reaction, as it automatically guarantees that whoever stays behind with Kelly and Ashley would be third wheeling. This is exactly where this whole idea of "feeling less than" is kicked into play. All of a sudden you have this very disturbed dynamic, and regardless of what kind of group/environment you're in, no one wishes to be the outcast.

@@Jean-wh2hu im just speaking for the content of his video itself. obviously idk anything about their prearrangements but maybe he ended up not creating a joint vid bc he didnt want to gear towards the narrative that everything was all great and good with the ending of the house. i dont think posting this vid separate from the others was the worst thing he couldve done

@@tranntrinh The problem is urmomshouse was part of each of their brands so it's like being business partners. The creator house boosted all of their channels benefiting them financially. The best way would have done an announcement together with each of them making light hearted videos to help prevent speculation and viewers from picking sides. That would have left the house on a good note as they parted ways.

Its a huge bummer that ur moms house is coming to an end but i feel with every chapter transition in Elliott's life from college to new york and now amidst all this change there has been a constant and thats the fact that Elliott never fails to make entertaining and quality content. He could literally be murdering puppies in his videos and id still watch it because hes so charismatic, funny, and has honestly taught me a lot about getting my life together striving for sucess and overall living life more meaningfully. All the best moving on Elliott we'll certainly be here for the ride.

They are such a bad choice of words when talking about your friends in a mayor (collective) decision, but he DELIBERATLY chose to upload this before hand, even though they talked about when, how and why. Doing that created so much room for people to assume the worst, further fueling the fire of hating Kashley. Elliot 100% knew what he was doing and it's so sad to me. They had agreed to all post at the same time, but he decided to do his own thing, insinuating that he was the only one leaving the house. Just seems really off to me.

For Kashley to bring up about the equity when they already made agreements, is so shady. They wanted the audience to support them and blame Elliot for the end of UMH.

Noone isnhating Elliott it's just that he was wrong .no-one knows what happened but he should have said hating close friends even if he is vulnerable that clearly gives hate to Ashley and Kelly .and that is wrong .he posted before them and it's a group thing . If he still went ahead and did this ..then he has no expectations left for any friendship in ur mom's house . the new comments are from Kashley stans who didn't like how Elliot posted earlier when Kashley had wanted to make a joint statement by releasing moving out vids all together. Based on their vids, it was an effort to make it seem all happy, & moving onto bigger & better things. But UMH was Elliot's brainchild, his own idea/creation for a collaborative group where they can equally grow like the TV show Friends, and he showed us his vulnerable and honest thoughts in this video, which Kashley didn't like. So Ashley's fam all started attacking Elliot, and Kelly agreed to hate comments on this vid

Okay hear this out: Elliot, it's okay to feel about this way. The four of you shared so much fun things with us, and I will always be thankful for that. Growing up, there are things that are out of our control and you are right, change is part of life. I don't see this "getting on your own path" is something to be sad about, it just shows that the four of you are growing. I still wish and pray for all of you and can't wait for the next chapter of your lives!
