I'm Looking for a Little More Nuance on "Religion"

One of the first things we talk about in an intro course on "world religions" is how complex it is to try to define whether something is "a religion" or not. In this video, I am talking through one set of identifying realities that scholars have come up with to help us talk about these collective human activities and group behaviors. "Religion" is much broader than many people in Western contexts have had a chance to consider. This is simply a video about raising awareness. I am not trying to endorse any kind of practice or religious identity.
