Blackpink is probably one of the most English speaking groups and this combined with their cool style makes them very western friendly and accessible. 3/4 members are fluent in English. Rose was born in New Zeland and grew up in Australia giving her an adorable Aussie accent which was on full show here lol, Jenny is Korean but lived and studied in New Zealand for 5 years when she was young, Ino it didn't show in this video but you can find clips where she has a really strong New Zealand accent when talking English, Lisa is Thai with a Swiss father (although I can't place her accent when she talks English) and Jisoo is the only none English speaker (but she tries her hardest)!

She was born in New Zealand and after 8 years she moved to Australia, she lived there 8 years as well and then went to Korea and you know the rest of the story.

The selfie sticks were because they were filming a reality show called Blackpink House. Usually, when kpop groups film their own shows they carry around selfie sticks even tho they have a camera crew, just for different angles. Their cooking videos were also from blackpink house.

Lisa can speak a little bit of chinese now. Jisoo is the only one who can't speak english before but can understand and now she has improved a lot. Rosé was born in New Zealand and then moved to Australia and as she says English was her first languange. I'm INSANELY late but I just wanted to tell you that Rose never said English was her first language. Korean is. Her parents spoke to her in Korean and she only spoke Korean at home until she was like 4 or 5 (Whenever they start school in NZ) So, even thought Rose spoke English at a very young age, Korean is still technically her first language (She's said this before)

Rosie and Lisa get along really well mostly because they are of the same age and also because they know the struggle and hardship of having to leave behind their home countries to pursue their dreams.
