I live in Seattle and I was paying $1800 for a 1 bedroom very small apartment in a rough area. I decided to move 30 minutes outside of Seattle and rent a 3 bedroom house with a huge yard and I’m only paying $1595 for it. There’s definitely perks with moving. I hope you enjoy your new place!

Congrats on the move. Very exciting. Rents are crazy. In 2018 we rented a house in Clermont Fl for $1655. It’s now renting for $2300. We ended up coming back to our home state. I’m still hoping to move back to Florida some day.

Do not move west of Disney. The traffic jams are horrible. Orlando nick name is the city beautiful and around Michigan ave and Orange ave is great.

Don't overlook renting a small house as well; my friends were living in an apartment. Their rent got raised so high that they looked into renting a house. Now, this is NOT next to Disney World so you can't compare; but they found out renting this house turned out to be cheaper than their apartment.

If your location is good than you made out well on this move. Location is everything. Your apartment looks brand new or refurbished and very large. WAY BETTER!!! When you said you were originally paying 1200 a month and they are now asking 1880, just 3 years later, I was shocked, especially for a small place. Moving is difficult, but I definitely think it was a wise decision. Even the Publix looks really nice. Also, the area seems much quieter and less traffic. It's always better, when you can go to the action, and then go home to peace and quiet, not construction and traffic. Best Wishes for your new adventure!

Money wise, this sounds like a good choice. Hopefully traffic to and from the Parks works out for you. You should have an apartment warming party when ready and invite all the O-Town/Disney vloggers like Adam The Woo, Jackie, etc for a big crossover event. I think viewers enjoy the SuperFriends Crossovers and being exposed to different Vloggers.

So happy for you and Gracie! We just moved from Camden World Gateway Our rent for a 3 bedroom was going up almost $600 a month. Being that close to Disney was great, especially since both my sons work at Epcot. Would love to live in the area you moved to but opted to purchase a townhome in Meadow Woods. About 1000 sq. ft larger with a garage and even with tolls and hoa, it's less than what renting would be! I hope you really enjoy your new home and hope it's always filled with joy! Congratulations!

It's probably a good idea to not buy a home right now. I'm a bit older than you Nate, and I've seen a couple inflations/recessions in my life. With interest rates rising home sales will slow. Slower homes sales usually equate to lower home prices. However, decreasing interest rates doesn't usually follow the lower home prices. It all a big, and difficult game to decide when it's the right time to buy. Just do your due diligence, and you'll be ready when the right time hits. Good luck. BTW, our first trip to WDW was on our honeymoon in 1977. Irlo Bronson (92) was a 2 lane road, and the Magic Kingdom was surrounded by orange groves. Things has surely changed since then. Speaking of changes, 2 two day passes to the Magic Kingdom were $24.00. :)

I remember my first townhome in Winter Garden. The mortgage was less than $500 a month!. A close ride up 535 to Disney employee entrance. It looks like you found a nice place. I hope you and Gracie are happy there. I can't believe how calm she is when getting the pup cups. My dogs attack me when the pup cup comes and make it hard for me to pay and drive away!

You did SO MUCH BETTER !!!!! Your old apt was smaller than my college apt back in the day, those were small Apts trust me! Your new place is 100x's better those floors the lights there in the kitchen, appears to have great natural lighting and your going to have that place decorated so great. Please show us how you have placed your pictures on your wall. Also I want THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for letting us know about the RSVLT shirts they are great quality my hubby loved his, I am a fan now. My daughter lives in Silver Spring, MD and she pays about $1,800 for a one bedroom in a complex that dates to the 1930's. It includes heat and water. This is not a bad price for that area. Yours being 2 miles from DW and about the same price is a bargain.

Hey Nate, it is crazy how different areas can have such differing prices and cost of living expenses! We live in the metro Atlanta area(about 40 miles northwest of Atlanta) and pay $1600/month for a 2800 square foot home with a fully finished basement on about 1.5 acres. Which is actually cheap compared to what homes and apartments are going for around here these days!!! Hopefully the market will be in your favor when you do decide to buy a home! Back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, we use to stay out on 192 pretty regularly. It was the place back then, lots going on, lots of places to eat. I’ve always liked that area. Good luck with the move!

My daughter is a CM & lives in Camden - I love it because of the proximity and it’s quick for her to get home from work and I don’t have to worry about her traveling… I hope she can afford that rent when it gets raised in June… She has your exact same apartment
