A black woman is kicked out of a fancy beauty salon for her appearance. But when she goes back and they find out who she was, everyone is shocked. You won't believe what happened!

God gave black people a special type of hair that is the most unique on the planet. There is a reason for that. It is our test to see how we handle many situations. We must learn to create and use our own gifts. Yes a huge challenge lies in front of us. But we must stay away from situations that wreak racism and hatred. We are talented as a people and we must come up with our own solutions and work with our own beauty. Subliminal images are part of our culture and there are so many influences that challenge us. We must create and come up with our own answers. That is what I am doing and it is paying off. Black women should stay away from white salons regardless of how many cameras are revealing the truth. Black is beautiful and we must learn to accept that.

For the most part, I agree. For one thing, Our type of course hair was necessary in the area our ancestors lived with extreme heat . Only my opinion, but our hair matches our skin. We are the only people on the earth who looks like the raw material God formed mankind from. I think that is our blessing - a reminder that we are unique in so many ways. That we have been personally marked by God. I wish I could go back and redo those years of straightening my hair, wearing wigs to fit some fake standard of beauty … Makes me angry to think how brainwashed I was, and some of us still are. I’m old now and adamant about my natural hair. I love

There is discrimination against all kinds of people. I went to a salon in tears because I tried coloring my own hair. It was awful and orange colored. I had neck issues and had brain surgery not long before that. The snobby beautician began jerking my head around and said it is almost impossible to fix it and even if she could it was going to cost a lot of money. Now I was not rich but I worked hard for what I had. I had money with me because I figured it would cost a lot to fix. She told me I had probably leave after telling me how much it would be to try and fix it. She said there was no way I could afford to pay for it. I pulled out $600 out of my purse and she just stared at me as I was getting up and said well we can try. The ballpark figure she gave me at the time was around 250 to 300 (which actually was a lot in the 90’s). I walked out. I went to a lady at another salon that my mom used to go to and she welcomed me. She said any color hair can be fixed. She took my hair back to my original color of blonde. It didn’t cost me $300 either. I left with a smile. I continued to go to her until she moved out of state. Just because I was young and didn’t appear to have money she didn’t want me in that first salon that I left in more tears and anger.

You do know that many times black people have their own businesses only to be destroyed by the same people that hate us so you don't really have any freedom here in America. I'm so tired of our people trying to make it here in America it's just time for us to leave America and you can best believe from it all the stuff that's going on?.... We are leaving and will never have to deal with racism again.

I like it that the reason for the behavior of the discriminating lady is given. After all, they are people to. Just like the kid bullying for a reason, in this case there was a reason too. I hope in the future we can be tolerant to this people, only if they are willing to change off course. Give them a second thance. If they are willing to see their mistake and take responsibillity.

True That..I've experienced..I am of Pacific Islander Native...I do my own hair..as I am sick of the attitudes of some of these Hairdressers...I have one Hairdresser specifically for my Haircuts..she's Good..from NZ.. Although there are some upper class Salons..I stay away from those...I go to those who believe in treating you with respect...no matter your status...I had a run in with one of the upper class Salon .. didn't like the way the salon lady addressed me..looked me up and down..spoke to me like I was dirt..So I stood my ground..I told her....( You think your Sh.t don't Stink..)..then went to the salon 3 doors down.... Customer service was more satisfying...and welcoming..A mixture of different ethnic groups working in there.. Equal... service for everyone...The first Salon didn't last..closed down.... Good. Customer service is important..

That is why many women with different texture hair do not go to upscale salons. Many women of color whether Hispanic or black go to either black or Hispanic salons. Plus many regular salons don't know how to style very curly hair without straightening it first. Many can't even figure out how to straighten it properly.

I listened through all the rhetoric to find out what happened? This was a personal prejudice, relationship hate. Her husband chose a black woman over her! She associated other blackpeople/ women in particular, in hatred, as a defense mechanism. What if her hair was not kinky, it could have been well combed through. As they call it "goodhair",Black salons, actually, don't turn down hair types. Yet, they feel it also about hair, bad smells, dirty hair, hair full of dandruff, Sores on scabs. Etc. Brushes, combs, curling irons, even a straightened comb can be damaged or harmed. Yet, there are possibilities someone will come into an establishment with those problems. The emergency room, dermatologists, can examine prescribe 💊 💊 , as far as correcting scalp diseases . A hair specialist, is who can get that hair to grow, look good, contoured to your face and styled.

That’s is true but why a black woman with type 4 hair go into any hair salon not knowing if they’ve been trained to do type 4 hair.? Afro textured hair has special needs and needs to be handled differently than the looser curl hair types. There are some black hair salon which won’t do type 4c hair which btw is wrong but that proves that not all hair types are the same and some much harder to style.

My neighbor is a retired hair dresser. She told me she had only cut/styled the hair of 2 black women in 35 years because they never came into the shop. When she went to school for hairdressing she did learn about black hair. But since she had so little experience with it, she was always concerned she was out of practice. I’ve had experience(s) from a female white Portuguese owned salon in E.P., RI on Warren Avenue. Their sign says walk in’s welcomed they don’t even allow me to introduce myself they stop me at the door still. Portugal, Cape Verde, Brazil, España, The Philippines,Thailand, Sicily, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Africa & many others are diverse with various skin tones beautifully multicultural as are many other melanated countries even the least populus ones Italy Ireland,Scotland, Netherlands etc. My family, extended family is multicultural with straight, curly,& mixed(half curly straight) tight curly, soft wooly hair and beautiful skin tones uniquely their own. Some of may talk junk but we don’t hate, WE LOVE. If we can’t love we walk away, love from afar and keep praying.

Acts 2:38 is still God's plan of salvation. One way for all people. We can''t pick and choose which scriptures we like or dislike. Eternity is too long to leave this earth and be wrong.

There is a choice if they declined you, go else where. The saloon has there ethos, stop acting as if you are entitle to be serve. They have the right to decline your patronage... move on

I am an African woman and I totally agréé with you knowing that you are european. Back when I use to relax my hair I always chose the African or Caribbean folks salons. They would know more about my hair texture than anyone else. I stayed away from all that drama. If there were only European hairstylists, then I would be forced to stay and expérience that crap. But I think people have enough options to stay away from where you are not wanted
