@@AshrZ No, in this situation they have proof that she ran a red light, so there is no point in making excuses, lying to the judge is able to make your punishments more harsh. Agree, here in New Zealand we once had Traffic Police & Criminal Police. A retiring police officer who started as Traffic officer then merged into the Police Force but still tasked to traffic enforcement said in his retirement speech; "Prior to the merger only 10% of stops were to result in tickets being issued, traffic enforcement was about education. After the merger we were taught that ALL TRAFFIC OFFENCES were criminal acts so all stops had to result in a ticket being issued. Since then education has disappeared & revenue collecting has started, because despite comments by police there is a quota system in place resulting in minor offenses being punished." That is wrong, this judge got it right.

Would I rather be in a privileged country and living paycheck to paycheck, or would I rather be in a country where I can hardly receive work and am being criminally underpaid under the table, or subject to human rights abuses? Don't feel too bad for us. We are still privileged. Until I struggle to get clean water and my kids starve, or my country tries to force religion or brainwashing onto me, or missiles are dropping down the street... I will always be privileged.
