Now there's no canonical confirmation of this, but Mercury has his dad's hair, Yang has her dad's hair, Blake has her dad's hair, Weiss has her dad's hair. Why would Ruby's be the same as Qrow's given the pattern Rooster Teeth keeps? Why was it Qrow breaking the news about Penny and Pyrhha to Ruby if Tai is her biological father? Why isn't Ruby named Ruby Xiao Long since Tai is in the picture? Pretty commonplace to name the kid after the father if they're in the picture. Also, how did Tai get over Raven so quick? Ruby and Yang are 2 years apart, and if Yang was a year old when Raven left like was confirmed, a man in such a depressive state and left a single father somehow had the time to take care of a kid and fall in love with another woman quickly? When he was that attached to Raven? That doesn't happen. Now, the idea they made up a cover story to protect Ruby from Salem? Making her think Summer had a kid with a school teacher(Tai) rather than a major thorn in her side(Qrow)? Because we all know if Salem found out Summer had Ruby with Qrow that would lead to her sending agents to kill the kid in a heartbeat. Hell just being a silver eyed warrior was enough for Salem to send Tyrion after Ruby to bring her back alive. You know, a renowned murderer with a semblance that breaks aura on top of his scorpion tail. Yeah the creators said that they're half sisters- doesn't mean shit, they've lied to maintain the current known canon before revealing twists in the show. We can't confirm that that isn't the same thing where at some point Ruby is going to find out Qrow is her biological father and that Ruby and Yang are biologically cousins(still sisters in relationship, they were still raised as sisters). It's also logical since Qrow's job and semblance would put Ruby in danger constantly and he couldn't exactly settle down and raise a kid, so he left her with Tai. This goes far beyond the style and similarity of weapon choice that others point out.
