Pete, I needed this message more than you can know. I have been working on a couple of videos for far too long, (try 7 months) I've considered scrapping them, waiting for better equipment, the whole bit. So at this point, I'm going to do my best and just get them out there and move on! I have been coming to that conclusion for the last few weeks but hadn't really pulled the trigger. I swear this video was made for me lol. All of your content is so encouraging to me as a content creator, but this one really stood out. Thank you for doing this, taking the time to bless others and help them, it doesn't go unnoticed my friend.

1000% agree! Doing good work is one thing but not crossing that line into seeking needless perfection is another. I'm a designer that experiences this often. Sometimes that tweaking makes work way slower or produces crushing pressure needing everything to be perfect before letting it out into the world. Often experimenting with new mediums helps remind me to experience more freedom in my work so it doesn't become that thing I'm not wanting to complete. Great topic!

They think it's awesome anyway and relieves my stress. On a couple occasions, I've gone back to re-edit in my spare time, and they loved it even more! They also took it as a compliment that I thought of them enough to go that extra mile, even though they liked the first version. "Done is better than perfect" ... kudos to your sister!

"Hold off on coffee today and just skip it" Pete you crazy!! lol. Your point on perfection though is actually so true and quite helpful. I think like you said when its your own work you always see the flaws and not so much the positives. Whereas realistically a slight camera shake or brief drop in quality doesn't really bother viewers too much and also doesn't really effect the overall story to a video at all. Keep up the great work, we love the content ✌ Hopefully we can get a printout next time 😃
