To many people think you get successful over night and after a week of hard work they get annoyed and angry that they haven't made it yet ! to those people i say don't give up ! get up get out and get inspired ! Pete your inspiring because there are to many people who need to see that it takes time ! they see people like Casey Neistat do like 2 years of vlogs and think he's gone big in two years but like yourself they don't see the years and years of hard work which has had money blood sweat and tears put in to get where you are now ! So Peter on behalf of your fans - Congratulations , You god damn deserve it ✌

I get back to these videos when I'm low and feeling the most uncreative creatively drained and uncertain of my future in photography.. just right to give me some sense of direction and to remind myself that I don't need to be special an privileged to make it to where I wanna be and so I keep going.. Thanks Pete! 8yrs and going strong! Got my eyes on being a full time photographer.. it's in sight I can see it and this video just reminds me to keep at it 👊

I'm at 32... Just 32 subscribers. Actually, I shouldn't say JUST. Everyone means something to me. I never thought that anyone, let alone 32 people would want to watch my videos. Yesterday I lost my job. I was "terminated as of effective immediately" without a solid explanation, for a reason that I believe was not by me... At the time, I felt happy but also upset. I've been slowly working on making KZbin my passion and turning it into something else. Last night, it felt like, it changed everything. This popped up in my recommended videos (I've seen it before) but for some reason this was my recommended video.. and it just happened to be here at the perfect time. This is it, I need to express myself and share my passion. Do it because I love it and not because im forced to do it. I have the freedom to film what I want and how I want, no boss to boss me around and no one to report to... Sure, I may not be getting paid for it. But, what I do hope for in the future is to be able to relate to another human being going through the same thing. Show them that although I am going through a rough patch, that I am working on becoming a better person - working on creating content and inspiring others and teaching others about the art of photography and filmmaking... This is what I love to do, more than anything, and I am going to create more than ever.

Your story is so similar to mine. I'm 33 and I took this week off between jobs, neither of which I ever was or am excited to do. This week, I decided to throw something up on KZbin and get started. I'm scared as hell to put myself out in front of the internet, but I want to put myself out there. I want to have conversations with people about stuff that I love. I'm working on my second video that is a little emotionally draining (total change from my first video, a simple review). Best of luck to you, my friend.

Peter, you may or may not see this, but this video, is about 90% me. I'm 22, I still live with my dad, which to clarify, I don't believe is a bad thing cuz we own our house. But anyway, I've had 7 jobs or something like that since I was 16. My parents used to tell me way more than they do now "You need to get a job. You have unrealistic goals. You may be burning bridges you wish you hadn't." But no. I have no regrets. Those 7 jobs, have taught me that it's not worth it to be miserable in life for money. No matter the circumstances. But as I type this, no, I'm not a success story as far as money goes, but I am a success story as far as wisdom and clarity goes. I've been doing lots of homework over the past year or two whilst I go about life still trying to find a job to hold me through. What I've learned, is that I have a very high drive for creativity. On youtube, in music, in photography, and in film. I love it. I love the idea of being able to do what I love, and knowing I can make something out of it someday. And to be quite honest, after finding your channel roughly 2 months ago, I've enjoyed all of the content you've put out. Your style, laid back attitude, and determination are infectious along with all the other amazing youtubers out there. You, along with countless others have inspired me and many average people like me to pursue the things that we desire to do. This video, has pushed me that much more to want to delve into the world that is creative media and KZbin. I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life and career and showing that all of us are capable of much more. Much love and remember, "Do what you Can't." -Casey Neistat

My life changing decision started when I quit my job two years ago and started to work on my passion, MUSIC! After a year I have a professional music studio and since a year ago I started doing VIDEOS, I didn't know I will really enjoy doing videos, I love what I do, it's x1000000 harder than working for another person's dreams, but at the end it worth working for yourself and putting all the effort into your dream. Thanks, this video was soooo inspirational.

I just wanted to say that I totally agree. I had my bunch of 'friends' with whom I have grown up, but one day, not more than few days ago I realised that they are different, they want to have jobs, eat, sleep. But I wanted more. And every time I ever shown a sign that I want, and hoped to get there they would just dissipate me. So I thought to myself - why the hell I 'need' those people? Better to be alone on your own path, than to stay in a village that you do not like. Also there was a guy who would thought he is the best, and every thing he would do - even if it were rubbish - he would exalt to the range of being god. He was nice in the inside, but 80% of him was that smelly shit. But I kept with him, beacuse I liked that nice part - but also I got to the conclusion - jesus, he just makes everything and everybody - including me - smaller, even if we - the other people - achieve greater things, even if the 'greater' thing is having less, but due to your own, not 'assurating' decision. Just wanted to let you know, that it is really important. To be with your positive thoughts* about that, your own way. If you do get rid of those people - everything seems to be much clearer and much vivid. It's almost weird how you would not think that those not-that-bad people would restrict you. But they do. You have to do this to eventually be in a different place, than they are. You cannot try to stick to the frying pan trying to make ice-cream - you have to put it away. Then you realise, it is very far away from making ice-cream, and sticking to the pan made you not achieve making AWESOME icecreams. I hope you get the point. Also: "Never take advice from a person who does not live the live you would like to live".

I have learned so much from you already but this is by the most I have ever taken from one of your videos. Thank you for the encouragement and the advice. I appreciate everything you have done to grow me as an artist, without even knowing it.

I just got a DSLR few days ago and was looking for some tips, and I came across your channel. MIND BLOWN! I am truly inspired not just from the tips but the DIY concepts. And thanks a ton for this video. I can relate to it.

Wow... Kinda sad that this video makes me have a little mental breakdown... I just realise everyday that i waste my time doing nothing and just dreaming about doing something with my life, but I'm just too weak and shitty to do anything :( But yeah i don't want to whine around so thank you that you spent 18 years to end up where you are right now.

Is it just me or did your channel take off like stupid fast?
@ArginArgin7 жыл бұрын
It was super fast. Last night out of nowhere he popped up on my screen. I've already watched half of his videos already. Loads of people are commenting about this, too. Which is great. He deserves it. There'll be millions of subscribers soon i believe.

Exactly what I needed to hear! I'm 22 (just turned like 5 days ago) and I know this decade is about trying a lot of things and figuring out and different jobs & experience & forming who I am -- yet sometimes I feel like I'm rushing & I'm behind (which is bs.) Peter, you're the man. This is such a beautiful & truthful video - THANK YOU

Ahh Peter, I had the most frustrating day with my photography, noooothing worked out. Hell, my banana bread didn't even work. I really needed this. Thank you AND a huge congratulations on your incredible achievement! You deserve it. Thanks for inspiring so many of us.

If you get jobs and work hard for it, you can get one yourself (if you're able to) :) It's more work but more reliable than entering a giveaway. Cheers :)

Becker Griffin Yup. Totally agree with you.. But the thing is, I'm only 16 And even though I'm working part-time and saving up for my first camera.. Decent cameras are way too expensive for a fellow like me.... I'm really passionate about photography and Peter has really been a massive inspiration for me.. And yea, even though I'm saving little by little, I'm still not giving up on my first decent camera (:

+Smalldoge Ghost That's good! There are a lot of cheap DSLRs, like +Daniel Webster mentioned. Nikon D3100, D3200, Canon T3, T3i, and camera of the like are all very very nice for about $300-$500 USD. You'll get there eventually! :)

Just felt on this one. I follow you for a few months now and man, I really enjoy watching your video. Actually, I just came back from my job that I have for more that 21 years thinking about all the things I've tried and learned while I kept that old job as my safety net and watched this tube of yours. Super happy for you that you get to work for yourself doing what you love. Inspiring! I'll use my Canadian brotherhood card and say keep it up brother!

I'm late to the party with your Vlogs but within the last month I've watched a lot of your videos and as of today this is one of the most inspiring videos I've seen (although I love all the others). Its motivating and I feel like you understand what a lot of us/people are dealing with when it comes to finding our passion. This video gave us YOU and the TRUTH. I know its over a year old but I'm seeing it for the first time and I appreciate you and what you are doing that much more. SO thank you!!!!!! I will continue to watch and share your videos.....oh and it makes it that much more epic that you are CANADIAN!

Seriously, your story is amazing to hear. Very relatable on my end (for the most part). Only difference is I was medically retired from the military which, in the long run, ended up being a blessing in disguise. Of course, it wasn't immediate that I picked up photography. I went to school for film acting in Los Angeles but it was during my trip to Europe that I started to fall in love with photography. I only had my camera phone but I made it work but I only kept the images to myself. I noticed that I kept getting a lot of positive feedback on Facebook which gave me enough confidence (I was lacking it at the time) to show more people, and more people, and so on. Eventually, after getting all of the same comments, I decided to get a DSLR. Before getting it, I studied the hell out of the camera I was getting using youtube tutorial videos. Now I am back in Europe taking photographs and building a website for my online portfolio and just really putting in the work. I am only able to do this due to the retirement thing but I didn't wanna just sit around. I wanted to be productive. Anyway, if you see this.... thank you for your positive message. I do wish I got started earlier but better late than never. Congrats on your 400K (at the time of this video). And seeing some comments on here of people of similar experiences and successes is great. It's a reminder so congrats to all of you as well on your success.

i started watching your videos about 2 weeks ago, but you easily became a big inspiration. for someone who's 21, getting a master's degree in psychology, liking it, but nurturing a deep love for photography and wanting to do that more than anything, it's really great to listen to ur advice, not only on how to improve but on life as u see it. really inspiring, thank you for ur time and dedication :D
