You have given me the push to upgrade my broken Sledge…I haven’t touched it in several months because it was replaced with an EXB. GREAT VIDEOS!

I think those look awesome on that Sledge Chris!! I’m wondering about all that extra weight though… I guess we’ll see. Great idea with the M2C wheel hex’s!! I put a set of Dumont 3.8 inch paddle tires on my Notorious and took it to the beach… motor temps were through the roof 🔥 hot!! I put some pro-line more the correct size and weight on the truck and I could rip a lot longer on the sand before needing to give it a rest to cool down. So I am interested to see what happens with your new tires

Thanks! I’m really excited about how they look on the Sledge! 😄 You raise a good point about the extra weight-I guess we’ll find out how it affects performance! Those Dumont paddle tires sound like a blast at the beach, but I can imagine the motor temps spiking with the extra weight. Glad to hear switching to Pro-Line tires helped you keep things cooler and extend your run time! I’ll definitely keep an eye on my temps with the new tires, too. Can’t wait to see how they perform-I'll keep you posted! 🏖️🔥

Chris out of curiosity I went and grabbed one of my belted Sledgehammer tires that came on my new Sledge. It weighed in at 418g. I only weighed one but I know from weighing my other tires they can vary quite a bit. The belted Sledgehammers I have for my Xmaxx vary by about 20g or so. The Method being roughly 80g more than my stock belted tires is not that much more it they perform better. I definitely like the looks of them an will probably get some in the future, probably the bigger ones for my 8S Kraton first or even for my 6S Kraton as it is a handful at speed the way the tires on it balloon. It is all I can do to control it over 65 mph.

Thanks for checking that out! 418g for the Sledgehammer tires is a solid baseline, and I appreciate you sharing that info! It’s interesting how much tire weight can vary-even a little can make a difference in performance. If the Method tires only add about 80g, that’s not too bad at all, especially if they handle better! I get the ballooning struggle with the 6S Kraton-it’s like trying to ride a wild horse at that speed! 😂 The bigger Method tires could definitely help with control. Let me know if you decide to grab a set; I’d love to hear how they perform on your Kraton!

@@ChriswithaCrc I will see what happens Chris. Right now I am toying with the idea of getting a set of belted Sledgehammers and fitting them on to the Kraton. It will widen it due to the offset and I will have to modify the Traxxas hubs to do it. So far I am impressed with the belted Sledgehammers.

I’m new to the hobby and I am going to get into a 6s basher. I love the content you’ve put out for the Kraton EXB and Sledge. Which do you like best? I don’t like the cost of entry for the Sledge but I’m worried about the axles popping out all the time on the Kraton. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey buddy my favourite is the sledge , it’s an awesome truck , feels amazing for fast ground and pound very stable . The kraton although is by no means rubbish but will say if you get a EXB is keep it light and stock .

Hey Chris are you confident those hub extenders aren’t going to make the plastic hubs more prone to break?

not sure buddy buy there is only one way to find out hey !

There are 454 grams in a pound my friend. I know this because i used to work on a deli counter 30 years ago. 28g in an ounce. However these weights vary across the sea, i think the Yanks say 30 odd grams per ounce!!! Anyway enough talk on grams and ounces 😂
