@@TommyMGrecianMusic Thank you. Not too many of my older videos survive, I usually remove them as I improve. But I kept this one as an example of how it sounds with guitar pick. You know, for the tutorial. My recent cover is more subtle, no guitar pick which I typically do not prefer. But when song is mellow, sometimes it's best.

Oh gosh what an awesome version of this song, I was precisely thinking about covering this one, but when listening to you and looking at you singing and playing I got the feeling that I won't be able to do it . I love Springsteen, love this song and now got a proper microphone but I'm not even using it ... Thank you Liza. Just practice and you'll get it. Play it a little slower at first. When I recorded this video it took me about 10 partials of warm up until I got this good / complete take! Jim :-)

***** ha ha, one take?? Never happens!! Even the pros take weeks or months to record an album that is an hour long. It's natural to redo, re-take, and improve. Regards, Jim....

rkaos1987 I didnt know you were a Syd Barret fan as well (well i suposee it would stand to reason that you would like the music of all the members of Floyd) im myself have been working on "Terrapin" and "long gone"...its not easy to do Syd justice because of his unique voice and loose guitar style they may or may not see the light of day

***** Yeah, though I only found Syd's solo stuff in the past 2 years, in my search for some new music to learn. His songs can be crazy....rhythms, if they exist, are all over the place. I learn by ear, not timing, so Syd sure challenges me! "Long Gone", great song, I had parts of it down, then got stumped and moved on. But, I often revisit songs later. "Terrapin" came to me quick, I hope to record soon. I also have a Jugband Blues (Syd / Floyd) cover, his solo "Dominoes" too. I did "Dark Globe", but it needs a better redo, I also did a decent "Opel". Search my channel under "Syd" when you get a chance...

Thank you Stuart. Yes, I strive for improved sound over the past year. My 3 year old Sony camcorder is still good for video, but for audio, I lay that mp3 track on top, separately. Not bad for a simple laptop PC recording "studio" :)

rkaos1987 I try something similar my self Jim, using recordings i have made with my digital 8 track..however i find syncing the audio with the vide a bit of a royal pain however..it is well worth doing as it does improve sound quality quite a bit..as demonstrated by your track

***** well, I do actually record the video and audio at the same time, I'm really playing what you're hearing, so that helps. Then in the Windows MovieMaker, I synch the two up, make the start points match, so it's not too tough. I also (in the past few months) started using Mixcraft 6.1, to add some kick / effects to the sound of the mp3.....
