Quadrophenia saw me through High School & at 58 I still need it! Thanks for the spirited rendition of a song that I can’t hear enough.

pete never used a capo on this song in years past..he probably uses it because of the singer's vocal range...

Rachel is an automaton, no emotion at all in her singing, This song is about asserting one's presence in the midst of feeling invisible, just a faceless person in a crowd. Her voice gives no "voice" to Jimmy. Her voice may be technically 'beautiful', but it's pretty obvious that she has no personal connection to this song- I wonder what she listened to when she was 15- clearly NOT Quadrophenia, like a lot of us did to sooth the angst.

Ms. F.? Pianist, brassy. The ultimate disingenuous rock & roll Opportunist. Decades ago at a recording studio, Ms F.a planned to meet P.T, befriending music acquaintances in order to enter the inner circle.( feminine wiles) Refer to Mr. T.'s memoir. It is all there. Has he read his own memoir? Plucked from obscurity, Mr. T. developed & nurtured a musical career for her. Since Ms. F's mid- twenties, every opportunity & luxury was afforded by Mr. T. Stints, including a reality show , u-tube venture with Mr. T., recording contract eventually an arranged position as an orchestrator for / classic Quad under supervision. etc. Fame & Notoriety, Ms. F's original goal has at long last become a reality. Mr. T.? Still immersed. A modern day Henry Higgins. How sad for the brilliant Mr. T.

@jacksons.96517 жыл бұрын
Mark: Yes, still immersed. There is really nothing to add beyond my original post. In his memoir, Mr. T. referred to Ms. F. as demanding, troublesome, & egotistical..mentioning one evening @ his home when Ms. F. was apparently inebriated , & created quite a scene. Yet they marry. Birds of a feather??. Co-dependent complicated issues.
