CONGRATULATIONS! I'm a bit sad to see your old videos gone, because I think a lot of things can be learned and a lot of people can be helped by seeing the full path you took to get here. It's very rare that something like that is so clearly and personally documented. That said, I respect your privacy, and especially your decision to not make public your future son's childhood before he even has a chance to learn what social media is. Regardless of whether or not you see this and decide to make your past content viewable again, I am wholeheartedly wishing you and your family the bestest of the best!

Please help them to know you, please open the eyes of their understand to know what is the hope of Your calling and Your great love for them. Please give them the fear of the Lord and save their souls. Please deliver them from the hands of the evil one."

Daisy, you're going to be OK with formula. If you're really concerned about gut flora and transmission of antibodies, consider getting just a tiny bit of pasteurized human donor milk--even a few drops on your baby boy's tip of the tongue. You're going to manage this just fine Daisy. Even without breastfeeding, you will still snuggle and nurture this boy and feel all the maternal instincts you need to feel. Clearly this is a wild ride but I have no doubt you can do it. Don't worry about the trash corners of the internet judging you. LOTS of women cannot breastfeed and that does NOT make you any less of a mother. There are so many moms who choose not to breastfeed for a myriad of reasons. I know it's easier said than done, but please don't let this keep digging into your psyche. Proud of you lady :)

I 100% agree with all of this. My mother was severely unwell after I was born and was physically unable to breastfeed. I was formula fed from birth and it was all fine, I was perfectly healthy and my mum never felt it made her less of a mother or less of a woman to not breastfeed her kid.

Milk from the donor bank is expensive and requires a prescription. It's $15 per 3-4oz or was 5 years ago. I'd moreso find someone you trust that is at the same stage as you and see if they would donate.

My friend was able to donate some of her milk for my baby when I had breast abscess surgery when she was 3 months old. 🥴 It was so helpful. I know that was kind of pure luck but if you do know someone, it might be worth an ask. It’s not totally uncommon. Some women even have extra milk frozen from producing more than they need.

My wife and I met in July of 2018. Married in December 2019 and then got pregnant in March 2020. It was tough having a baby born only around 11 1/2 months after we got married as there were a lot of places we wanted to go and things we wanted to see. It was also hard because we were still learning about marriage and how to love each other better in that new form of relationship. I would say having a baby has been one of the largest catalysts in our relationship, but at the end of the day, it has been beyond worth it. I think no matter when you have kids, it's gonna be really tough on your marriage (something I wish I knew going into parenthood), but as long as you love each other and both have a solid foundation of what your relationship really means at it's core, then it's still a brutal, wild ride, but the most fulfilling ride you will ever ride in your life. My wife recently gave birth to our second child, and as much as it is just as hard as the last, we just have grown so much as individuals and as a couple since then. I guess what I'm trying to say is prepare for a lot of pressure on your marriage, but don't be afraid. Just make sure to remember you love each other, even when you feel like you want a divorce. You can either go with the flow of feelings and let the pressure crush your family, or you can hold fast and let the pressure solidify you as a family. If we can do it (two teenagers who met three and a half years ago and have two kids now lmao) then you can do it too! Cheers

Hi Alex my story is similar to your, we met, we married, we had kids really fast and was as har as it looks an more (especially on the first child, well, second is hard too and the third is not so different than the rest, but anyway, if someone tells me what I past take me to where we are right now I'll do it again for this results. I love my kids (almost 19, almost 15, and almost 13)I wouldn't change ANYTHING, ANYTHING, all of the things have make US (including the kids) more stronger family, life is difficult BUT IS WORTH of living it.

There was a whole generation in the 1960's that received shots to dry up their breast milk - my mother was one and here I am over 50 years later, just fine. Also, becoming a parent really pulls you out of yourself, changing the center of your universe from you to your baby. I'm so happy for you and Jason.

Congratulations!! 🎉 I’m confident that you will strive to be an excellent mother. ❤️ Each child is a precious gift from God. It’s true that breastfeeding is best, but if you are in a good, loving community, you can often find a mother or a few mothers who are producing extra milk, have compassionate hearts, and may donate some for your little baby when they hear of your situation. This is the case for a foster baby I have been around. The family was given so much milk so consistently that they rarely had to use formula for months.

Daisy, iu have been given one miracle, trust God for another one that will give you the heart of a loving mother. It already seems like you are growing into one. God knew you'd be a good mother and removed all thr barriers to allow you to become pregnant so easily. Your self preoccupation is something many go through as they are learning about themselves, especially if they are are unusually different. You will grow into a wonderful wife and mother. and your honesty is refreshing. Many people have those issues that just aren't self aware or else, don't express them .

Being a mother totally reshapes you- you will BECOME the person your son needs you to be. Give yourself grace and mercy while you grow into your role, be gentle with yourself. The fact that you are WORRIED about being too self-involved already shows you are not too self-involved, you're very self-aware. I had some of the same worries before I became a mother! My husband and I found out I was pregnant *before* we got married- we knew each other for 2 years before marriage. From the very beginning our marriage has been intertwined with parenthood. What fretted would cause distance between us ended up strengthening our bond beyond what I ever imagined, throughout everything we were able to lean on each other. Growing together in the most profound, cherished experience of our lives. It's not light, it's powerful and often very difficult- but everything you do is underpinned by the deepest love you've ever experienced. And you'll go from infanthood, to watching your babies first steps, to watching toddler that almost resembles a child say/do the most adorable, ridiculous and hilarious things before you know it. I remember worrying we wouldn't have enough alone time- but now we literally opt NOT to go on "date nights" (even though we totally have the option to) because we always just miss our daughter & wish she was with us😂. We have all just become a unit. & You find ways to get your alone time at the end of the day, even during the infant stage. Pregnancy is such a vulnerable and tender time, nourish yourself & forgive yourself for being a little self-focused right now ☺️ God bless you and your husband💓 what a BLESSING. I'm so so happy for you and have been following your journey since the early days when you made videos about JP. (I'm pregnant with my second right now, also having a baby boy! & This made me super emotional lol💓.)

Daisy, this is such amazing news. Congratulations! I know your path is unique to say the least, but there are some universal things about pregnancy such as.. it blows most of us away when we first learn that our body has become this thing that is creating a human. And, it may be that you feel especially self involved, but maybe we all feel protective of a life rhythm that we enjoy. From your videos I can see that you are very self-aware and deeply thoughtful. You seem like a great person and I think you will be a great mother. Regarding breast feeding.. there is a system called supplemental nutrition system, where formula runs through a tube which is attached to the nipple.. designed to give extra nourishment if someone has low breast milk. A friend of mine had breast reduction surgery and when she had her son it turned out she wasn't producing milk. She bottle fed him, but for the experience of bonding she attached this tube to her breast at morning and night cuddle and feeding times so that they could enjoy that bond. I saw her husband use it too, because he wanted that feeling! Just thought I'd share the idea, in case you didn't know.

The natural formula she recommends is raw goat milk based, I believe. It’s again far better than commercial formulas.
@TheKarenKeener
@TheKarenKeener 2 жыл бұрын
@Bok Choy brightness has little to do with health outcomes. Many formulas are made with GMO ingredients which are nutritionally inferior and lead to long term elevated risk of cancer. Along with using soy which is also a big no for babies because of endocrine disruption which I see as a far far far higher risk than the nominal amount of liver. I think the dose is what makes something risky. And to me, the amount of various pesticides, herbicides, GMOs and then even organic soy make most commercial formulas a non starter in my mind.
@TheKarenKeener
@TheKarenKeener 2 жыл бұрын
@Bok Choy re iron: I took blackstrap molasses through my pregnancy for iron and was tested for my iron levels and the physician commented they had never seen such impressive iron levels in a pregnant mother. I ended up nursing so iron wasn’t a concern for us. I don’t recall if the formula she suggested had iron from other sources. I would have to go back and research it again. However as I said previously, under no circumstances would I give infants soy based or other grain based formulas or anything that posed a risk for later hormonal issues and endocrine disruption. “Bright” is a subjective term that has little bearing on health outcomes.

Very excited for you! Congratulations on this new adventure - you're going to be phenomenal. Regarding your worry about being selfish: being aware of yourself and what you want to improve on is an indicator that you won't stand in your own way. Knowing is half the battle, so they say.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! Girl, my brother and I were both not breast fed and we are happy and healthy adults. Don't worry about the past when you have such a bright future ahead raising your beautiful wonderful child ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Please share just a couple of pics when your baby arrives. They don't need to be on social media growing up but it would be so lovely to see your little miracle!

Daisy, so many lovely things happening in your life! Something that helps me is that I don’t have to take on any giant swaths of my life all at once. We just have to take them hour by hour. You are tough and smart and have a great relationship with your groom. You, Jason, and your son will grow together. You have a lot of folks praying for y’all and wishing you good things. Take care! ❤️

Congratulations!!!! You actually sound very self aware, knowing you tend to be selfish is a huge thing. Most people get defensive and deny it. So, that's awesome! Also, I think a lot of women struggle with breastfeeding wether they still have breast tissue or for some reason they don't. I did with my first daughter and felt so much guilt and anger at myself for not being better. I was kind of heartbroken about it. I eventually came to believe the "fed is best" slogan because that's all I could do. She's 14 now and thriving, so it all worked out.

Tons of women can't breastfeed for many reasons, and generations were raised on formula when it was thought to be better, don't stress about it!

Wow congratulations 😍😍 All first time mums are scared when they find out they are expecting to start with. You will be fine and a great mum, just relax and don't try to be strict with yourself as both you and your son will need to find a routine that works for you both. The housework etc will wait. My mother wasn't able to breastfeed any of us kids as her body didn't produce milk so it can happen naturally too hun

Hi Daisy! I've been watching your videos ever since you made that one about Jordan Peterson & just wanted to say congratulations on your marriage & pregnancy! While I am not personally detrans, like you I am a female who has struggled with gender identity (and still do.) Pregnancy & becoming a mom for me was strange, difficult & beautiful but I wouldn't change it for the world. I know you're nervous but you're going to be fine! Taking care of a newborn is surpisingly easy and intuitive plus you're an intelligent & compassionate person! I wish you & your family all the best! :)

On top of what was said in another comment about getting donor milk, regarding the baby trying to latch onto your breast for milk: you can get little feeding tubes that go from a bottle onto the area around your nipple, you kinda tape them on so they stay put in that area (or can just hold them there, or wear the bottle like a necklace, there are different designs). Babies are too dumb to notice the difference so don't worry about it. It's just good to have skin-to-skin contact and be holding the baby, it replicates the experience and is a perfectly good way to do "breastfeeding" :)

Hi Daisy, Haven't looked at your channel for a while. Congrats on your marriage and your pregnancy. IMO you're not self obsessed, you''re just self aware. Despite your past missteps, I think you'll be a good mom. As for your past videos: of course your choice about taking them down. But they are part of your journey & I'm glad I saw them. Best wishes. Love and Peace, Myles

Hi, Daisy. I just want to add to the positive comments. Congratulations, first of all. Second, yes, it changes things, but I was pregnant when I got married 24 years ago, and we're still going strong. You and your husband are a team, that's the most important thing. And third... the nature of being young and wounded (broken, hurting.... whatever you want to call it) makes us all selfish and self involved. That doesn't mean it's who you are. Selfish is not your identity. I pray that you'll be pleasantly surprised by the woman, friend, wife, and mom that you grow into.

You are going to be a great mother. You are self aware and self centered and it is a good thing. Your son is going to be a part of your new identity. When you need rest rest. When you are sick take care of yourself. You aren't at the best for your family if you aren't well yourself.

I grew up in east Germany and my mother didn’t have enough milk. We didn’t have formula in communism, so the mothers donated milk to one another and my mother jokingly said that I’m the neighbor boy’s half sister as the neighbor shared a lot of milk with my mother for me. I’m not sure how healthy this practice is but I guess it cannot have been that bad either…. Oh and… obviously, huge congratulations to you! G-d bless you the baby and hubby.

Congratulations Daisy! 😊 I'm sure you will be a wonderful mother, purely because you're already anxious that you might not be. That wish to be a good mother to your son is gonna mean that as soon as he's born, you'll be the best parent you can be. I'm not a mum myself so I can't speak from personal experience but I've heard time and time again that everything changes as soon as you have a kid, I'm sure your impulse for self involvement will melt away as soon as you hold your son for the first time. It'll be a natural instinct to want to do everything you can for him and put him first always. It's natural to be scared now because it's a massive change in your lives but I'm sure as soon as he is here, motherhood will come naturally to you and you will do your best. Also I was formula fed from birth as my mum was too sick post partum to breastfeed and it never did me any harm at all. It's understandable to be upset that you can't provide that for your child but please don't think it makes you less of a mother because it honestly doesn't. I'm sure you'll be great! Congrats again, it's so exciting!
