The thing that attracts people to KZbin is the ability for creative people to monetize their creativity... The problem with KZbin is you start monetizing your creativity... When you start monetizing your creativity, what you create and your motivation to created is impacted too much by outside forces instead of what is inside you as an artist. That sounds like a purist statement but it’s one of the things that leads to creative burnout. Creating for a living vs living to create.
@finnillson48084 жыл бұрын
Roberto Blake you nailed it. The meaningful content is not usually viral. Isn’t filled with eye candy, wet skin, and toned bods, and requires you to invest when watching it. 80% of the content, especially around cameras space, is exactly the same! Same corporate talking points, same FOMO materialism, wrapped in flashy transitions and cool “color grades”. I’m numb to it now. There is a huge opening for meaningful content. The problem is it takes thoughtfulness and dedication and authenticity to create that content that KZbin’s punishes for not being clickbait.

Keep up the awesome work. I've just quit my full time full time career of being a Graphic Designer to do concentrate on KZbin for a whole year. When I started my Graphic Design company 25 years ago I had a fire, a passion for it. I've now got that same passion for making and uploading KZbin movies. It's like a drug. I have always made movies since I was 7 year old with my Dad's cine camera, started filming weddings at 14 year old with a huge video camera. Always wanted to go into movie making but the road took me in a different direction working for the British Press. Daily Mail Group, Mirror Group. Then I started watching Casey Neistat and then fell across your channel. Casey got me started making KZbin Videos however you have made me take the leap forward to making full time KZbin Videos. Interestingly I have been watching you use your iphone to film. I have the Lumix GH5 and The Sony A7III but find it so much easier to vlog with my iphone 11pro max or my Samsung Galaxy s10plus. I like what you say. Just be comfortable woth what you use. I'm gonna be travelling a lot and going for it this year. I've started merch and people are sending me photos of them wearing my merch. It feels good already. Thank you. Going full time is down to you. It will work. I'll make it work and I'll enjoy the journey and make that dent. Keep up the great work. You are an awesome motivator.

I am so appreciative of this video, Cody! Back in August I transitioned from being a teacher full time to running two businesses, one with KZbin and one with curriculum development. KZbin initially was far more successful for me, leaving me to assume that it would continue getting better if I could put more hours and effort in, but like you mentioned, I found it has been more stressful and less fun when you need it to pay the bills. It's also something that is more difficult to admit publicly, so I am very grateful you posted this video and it helps to know I'm not alone. I am excited for all of your future endeavors, both on and off KZbin!

I think some of your best videos were your daily vlogs in 2018 when it seemed like you were winging it - not planning it or thinking about it - just doing it because you loved doing it. Now you have one year experience in being fulltime-vtber (that was an amazingly fast year, don't you think?) - nobody can take that from your, and I'm sure it will always help you on your way.
