I just had my yearly doctor appointment on Thursday and she said that walking and lifting weights was fine but she actually said for me to garden just a bit more than I did last year. She said studies show that gardening uses all your muscles but more importantly that you use your brain more than anything. I'll be turning 67 years old on April 3rd and was so happy to hear my doctor say this concerning gardening.

They are likely paying this guy to “give up”. And you will see many “examples” They want us to follow & “GIVE UP & give in or get that mentality if it’s too hard just quit”. We must never give in and realize they want us to be made READY to give up and OBEY the FALSE MESSIAH and the one world gov He will use force people to worship him to have a job and buy or sell ANYTHING. God said in that time he will provide for us as he did the Israelites/Hebrews he took out of Egypt. It will only be 5 months. A good step would be to purchase some media literacy books, like the media and me; a guide to media literacy for young people, & perhaps whatever else anybody can find, & making sure other people are encouraged to develop their media literacy skills. I live in an old apartment building. There is a raised bed for gardening made of brick that has probably been there 50 years. I call that sustainable. Now, if only the people (actually one person) who think they are "in charge" of this community garden would learn to compost, or at least turn dead plants under instead of throwing them away, get the free organic "Dillo Dirt" made from wastewater, and not tear up other people's plants, we'd probably be a little better off. I could rant some more about this, but you get the idea.

Hi Brian. Hope you are doing well. I believe the reason for the "scare" regarding how dangerous it is to home garden is we home gardeners are taking revenue away from the commercial growers and they have to find a way to create a negative narrative. I love your channel and love gardening as well. You have given me a plethora of gardening tips and I can't thank you enough. Also go buy pallets for a dollar...some are slightly broken but u still have to tear them apart to make your raised bed plus you are saving them from the land fill. Also flowers save our bees and butterflies etc. I also feed the birds etc. They government is just trying to make the idiots who believe everything (cuz the can't use their brains to research or think for themselves) so more and more people have to depend on the governments telling them what to do how to act etc. DONT SWEAT IT and HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!

Brian these sort of articles and headlines frustrate me too. I will be honest that when 2020 hit I started properly gardening not as an escape, but as a means to help feed my family. I hated the feeling of going to the store with a list of 20 food items and only being able to buy maybe 4 or 5 items. I'm a mom of five kids and I started to really worry about what the future held for my kids (food wise) and I turned to gardening. I had tried 2 or 3 times before and thought I had a black thumb. A few KZbin videos later I realized what I was doing wrong and how to actually garden and in the process found I love doing it. It was content creators including you who helped guide me and encourage me to try more and to not worry too much about my failures, but rather learn from them. For that I am truly grateful. I also feel like there are those who truly don't want people to be self sufficient and try to use articles to make some people afraid or not want to try, which I think is very sad. I did know you were using click bait (you give up gardening... never) and knew it must be for a reason.

I don't mono-crop my cilantro but every two weeks or so scatter a small number of seeds in a single location somewhere in my beds wherever there's space at that time. Each patch of cilantro grows and is harvested in turn so I have a continuous crop all summer. Any that does bolt is allowed to form seeds. Many folks will harvest the golden brown coriander seeds for kitchen use or for next year's seeds but I like to harvest them green. Simply wash then in a sieve and allow to air dry then freeze them in a jar. The green seeds taste exactly like cilantro and can be used whole or crushed or ground for flavouring or garnish all winter long. Thanks for this video.

The whole idea of growing your own veges etc is to get rid of the amount of chemicals in our food. We give some of our excess eggs to friends and they say they are so delicious compared to store brought. A friend used to work at the egg grading/sorting production line, from them I found out that the eggs in store are at least 3 weeks old before we buy them. Back in the 70's, when I was a kid, our state decided pine trees were bad so they went around killing off pine forests. We had a Huge one on the mountain opposite from where we lived and they flew right over that mountain and sprayed the entire forest with a crop duster plane. Everything on that mountain died. If 'they' gain enough control and WE are not watchful of what's going on at our state and Federal government levels, that is most likely how they will ensure that we are not gardening.

Thank you for being so open about every. Looking forward to the warm gardening season. For me, cilantro, taste like soap, for my husband he loves it. Blessings❤️🌺

Brian, I've probably been a subscriber of this channel for more than a year or so. I don't ever remember you posting a rant video. Daisy gave you quite the workout there! Fellow gardeners, garden on -bigger and better!!

I love your rant, especially when you read the parts of article that tries to say that using chemicals and depleting the soil is a good thing 😂! I gave up buying romaine lettuce because every couple of months there was a recall because it was tainted! I think it is really scary about our food supply. My husband showed me an article where now house plants are bad! Geez when will it stop! Thanks for your common sense. ❤😊

Hey there my friend. This is my second video of you I have seen. I read the comment of someone calling you a hypocrite for venting your frustration and making this video. Their comment was not necessary. You have every right to take a moment to share something that has upset you. The times we are living in are upsetting period. Frankly you did a much better job than most people would have done in expressing a tough moment including and including Mr. Or Mrs. Comment section. Continue on brother. We are standing with you in this. Great video by the way and thank you for sharing your life, thoughts and expertise with us🤗😁🙏

Hi Brian, saw the title and thought, "oh oh, what's happened now?" 😄 knew right away it was your humour. I think you did a good thing to raise awareness to this kind of bs. There's always a(not so hidden) agenda with these kind of 'studies'. Here in England I think they'd have revolution on their hands if they tried to stop us gardening😅. Keep up the good work❤

i couldn't agree more. I would like to add you also don't need the gas powered tractor to harvest your produce. The answer is less large commercial farms and more small, organic farms. As far as the food factories they want, you know what solar energy is real good for, growing food!

No matter what, no one can take away the psychological benefit gardening gives us. No one can tell me how it makes me feel, feeding my animals or harvesting my tomatoes. Thx for your take.

Brian I am on the same thinking. I don't know what happened that we can't do or think what we want to do without judging. If you vote different, you may lose friends. My grandmother and dad taught me gardening, and as long as I am able, I will continue to do it. My canning room is always full of tomatoes, beans, sauces and so much more. I love growing my own vegetables and fruit. It's worthwhile.

Hay there. I actually agree with you here. I read that study and it doesn't consider so many variables. For example, all my raised beds are made from reused materials in my garden. Literally, ALL reused, right down to the fasteners and the compost.

Same here. So many businesses toss away pallets and scrap wood drive by new construction and they usually have a box with scraps

It's not "gardening", it's feeding your family, it's living. So, if they are telling us that we need to stop living then they are going to have a very big problem. I don't make raised beds . I raise my food the way my parents and grandparents did in the 1930's and 1960's, in the soil. Subscribed.

Thanks, Brian. I’m not stopping gardening and I’m glad you are not , as well. Fades come & go, just craziness. Gardening has been around for thousands of years, why should we stop now? I have learned so much watching your channels that has helped me garden easier. For instance, the seed sowing video. Covering tiny seeds with vermiculite instead of possibly burying them too deep; never thought of doing that. Thanks Brian, Emillie, and Noah. You’re the greatest. Many blessings.

I'm one of the many that cilantro tastes like soap lol I am an animal lover of all kind (except snakes ..... shiver) but I appreciate you showing the good, the bad, the ugly and the sad of homesteading/gardening. Any type of pest that destroys your hard work and steals food from your table is a nuisance that you have to "take care of". Thank you for all that you do to teach us or help us learn from your mistakes/experience

OK, I admit I have not even looked at the data but regardless of where you are on climate change does this claim seem reasonable? Does the idea that growing your own vegies is going to create more CO2 than giant corporate farms that are centered around huge diesel powered machines and oil based fertilizer seem probable? This sounds right up there with the "secure" border and the "greatest economy" ever. This is really the age of gaslighting.

Cilantro is fan-friggin-tastic! I love cooking with it, the taste and aroma are wonderful. Usually use it for pinto beans and salsa, but looking to branch out a little with it. I'm kinda jealous, you have a nice little setup there. I live in an alley apartment, and there's essentially zero space to grow anything, plus it's all clay. In fact, the previous owner wouldn't even let me try to grow anything. But the new one is a pretty chill guy, so I might try to grow some potatoes, onions and a few other things in a kiddy pool. So long as I can keep the neighbors from stealing it.

I’ve heard a tip that will get gofers to leave. People hair, maybe get some at the nearest hair cutting shop. They just throw it away. Just get a bag of hair & put it in the gofer hole. Worth a try. Kind of makes sense. Totally loving your gardening, especially the weed eater. ❤

It gets to a time when you got to use ur own intelligence and knowledge and reserch and go your own way and do what you think is right for you! I rent a one bedroom apt and after covid I stayed home and started watching Utube and Pinterest and found lots of accounts teaching all kind of things from gardening, jewelry making, sewing, emergency aid, putting a pantry together and so on, I read everything, watched everything and learned everything! I picked my favorites and those that were interesting to me and useful! I started agarden in pots, my very first all new and in pots! My best garden ever! That was 2021, I'm on my fourth garden and I'm in love! I have learned to make my own jewelry, practice sewing, cross stitching, crafts, recycling, first aid, survival in the woods, new recipes and prepping for the future along with my gardening! I'm having so much fun with everything I have learned! So u can't listen to everybody, believe everything you read, see or hear, you educate yourself so you can make wise decisions and be diserning, I'm almost there! I won't stop because what I'm doing brings me joy, keeps me and my mind and body busy and exercised and happy! So good luck and when things go sideways then relax, deep breath and put it in God's hands, it surely works! ❤🙏

Thank you for talking about government/industry/gardening it is an important subject and needs to be talked about. I have no intention of leaving this channel for any reason or conversation. We don't like cilantro, and I am allergic to lavender. We both were raised on farms in Canada, and now live in the US. The US has a much nicer climate where we live in Utah. This year has changed everything for us with my surgery coming up, and it makes it hard to see all the work I have done to build my garden here and not be able to use it. The choice is surgery, or I die. I am not going to die, so it means that my gardening will have to wait to garden. I believe gardening is an essential part of life in the past and in our future. I don't really trust what we get from the stores because they look unhealthy and go bad quickly. I am waiting for that garden. I will eventually grow, mine while I am watching you along with all the others that have made you a part of our routine in our week 😊❤

I'm glad you covered this. I saw those "news" articles pop up, too, and they reeked of propaganda. With an open mind, I looked at my garden practices - like collecting rainwater, and making compost, and won't lose any sleep over continuing to grow food.

What a sweet fur baby. My grandfather had an amazing fruit and vegetable garden. I remember he had a salt shaker in his front pocket and sampled from his amazing garden labors. There is nothing like fresh fruit and vegetables! Keep gardening!

Yes sir, you can freeze dry cilantro reall well. I have a 2 qt jar sealed in my pantry. I love it, Hubs thinks it tastes like soap. The first time I made salsa with it I said I thought it made the salsa taste so "fresh". He said "yup, fresh like soap ." I burst out laughing. I love his sense of humor, even after almost 40 yeas.

I'm actually cheered by such headlines. It shows that more and more people are growing their own food, and the big agricultural corporations are feeling the pinch and panicking. Smile Brian, we gardeners are healthier, and we are hitting them where it hurts most...their bank accounts.
