Smaller scale stories are honestly nice to see in Star Wars, it does remind me of a Bantam Era Novel. I thought it was pretty good so far.

As a Dutch person I think the absence of bikelanes is unsettling

I’m living in the Netherlands, the tram lanes were cool but I’m like why weren’t there multiple trams a day? And no bike lanes, I agree unsettling lol. Didn’t like the uran design at all lol

Skeleton Crew is really fucking good. The show clearly delivers on the bored suburban kids 80s adventure film premise.

I think it being a 'smaller story' is particularly good for kids. Thinking back to my time as a child, it's a lot easier to think of and pretend to be a pirate or adventurer on the playground with your friends then it is to try and pretend to be the early Rebels making tough political decisions (though both are completely valid as shows)

I've really enjoyed it so far, it's really managed to strike that balance of fun and drama

Today I learned Corey is an intergalactic urbanist. I also noticed the "speeder-centric" suburban development.

I LOVE the practical effects, and the Volume (assuming it's what they used to film) is finally being used to full effect. The Borgo sequences were downright gorgeous. I love all the attention to detail, honestly everything about this show blows me away so far.

This show is in my opinion a perfect combination of Star Wars, stranger things, the goonies and even pirates of the Caribbean with port borgo being a space version of tortuga

What if this hidden world is really a part of the start of the first order? Having kids learning that kind of stuff in pre-assigning them rules sure feels like some offspring of the start up for the first order. Timeline wise, it works.

Why would The First Order use credits from the Old Republic, while telling everyone there they work for the Republic.
@dylankroll2 ай бұрын
@@Hartzilla2007I’m just trying to think how Disney will continue to make everything a basic retcon for their shit 3 movies. And why not? Even more of a smokescreen for them to hide behind. I mean they didn’t even use the galactic credit on Byss. Again just a theory from a disgruntled fan.

@@dylankroll Never assume Disney plans to pander to disgruntled fans who've pledged not to spend money on them again.

@@MicaiahBaron you really think that I think Disney cares about me? And FYI, clearly they are getting some of my money or else. How would I have watched this show?

A planet being isolated from the rest of the galaxy is freaky!

the new star wars shows are usually good whenever they try to fill in unexplored territory, like everyday life of people who are not somehow related to a skywalker, i really enjoyed skeleton crew even tho the target audience obviously is a younger one, it was really fun and i loved jude law. same reason i actually liked acolyte and even andor, even tho they all have some plot holes and sadly are canon and not legends (will never get over this tbh). cant wait for disney to ruin season 2 by adding connections to clone wars or the sequels.

Having the suburbs lends to the world building. Suburbqn areas are not really seen in star wars and the planet is a unique place in the story which lends itself to the unique setting

Doesn't really matter but just letting you know you spelled "impressed" wrong in the title.

i liked it well enough, abit of an issue with pirates interacting with the kids at the end, and Fern is annoying.. but if her annoying behavior is used to teach a moral lesson.. all the better. and the character does have an overbearing mother so you can expect a rougher edge.. but like Sokka.. awful characters can teach great lessons, Sokka taught a lot of young boys not to look down on girls. Of course the live action version is too scared to offend girls in the short term to teach anything. If they manage to tell a half way decent story with these characters i'll be happy, They/them bullshit could be included if it isn't shoved in your face "do pushups if you mislabel somebody" - level of the new dragon age is overkill.

I enjoyed the first two episodes. I'm excited to see where the story goes. I loved the costuming. The pirates were great. I guess the series description about the kids getting "lost in a strange new galaxy" was not about being in a different galaxy, but rather the kids having never been off planet.
