I worked in industry all of my life and we spent millions of dollars and a great portion of my life making sure we did the best we could do for our environment. It's not about politics. We aren't supposed to agree about every issue, but respecting someone elses viewpoint is an American virtue. That's why we are such a great country. Ignorance and bias are why we are so divided politically. We dont have to agree, but being hateful and disrespectful will solve absolutely nothing.
@redfishandout4 күн бұрын
Politicians have created this divide among people. The progressive democrats push the narrative that if you don’t agree with every environmental initiative they want to enforce, then you hate the environment. Republicans react by distancing themselves from most any talks about the environment, therefore Democrats push harder for more extreme radical changes. I think the majority of people are not aware of certain environmental issues and focus too much on issues that are the lowest impact. But I think we all can admit that we care about the environment, and it will take leaders from our future Republican run government to install common sense environmental policies.

The death of expertise, which was dramatically fueled decades ago by talk radio hosts who appealed to listeners by proposing that all of their perspectives held as much merit as experts in a given field, "felt" good, and the mindset has proliferated massively over time - to our detriment as a nation. The refusal of massi everything never ceases to amaze me. Intelligent and humble people acknowledge that, while they may be an expert in a particular area, they know far less about other topics. Randy, I appreciate your concern about over development of lands near reservoirs and lakes in our country. But what you need to realize is, when the government passes environmental regulations, it very often negates practices of those of us trying to make a living off the land. I've been involved in production agriculture for 55 years, and in the last couple of decades, the government has sought to regulate areas where they have absolutely no expertise. The Obama administration passed regulations which changed how the feds regulated what they determined to be "navigable waters." Sounds harmless enough, right? The problem was the administration dictated that USDA was legally entitled to regulate agricultural water down to the size of a mud puddle, and that is not an exaggeration! These decisions were immediately tied up in court battles for years, until the Biden adminstration sought to reinstate them a couple of years ago, and the battle was once again joined. Often times these rules are dreamed up by some career bureaucrat seeking to make a name for him or herself, regardless of the outcome. There has also been an environmental push to establish organic farming, and while that is a noble goal, and we should continue to pursue it, people need to understand that if you mandate organic farming in the near term, you first need to determine which 25% of the world's population that you intend to starve, because that is essentially what would happen. Regulations are fine, and often necessary, but over regulation kills incentive and wise practices.....

Then, when the owner started lobbying for year round "catch and keep" regulations to be adopted in Michigan, a huge debate on the forum erupted. Many bass fishermen did not not want year round "catch and keep". They wanted year round "catch and release" and keep the "catch and keep" to be limited to certain times of the year as it always had been. As fishermen, I can assure you that most, if not all, of us care about the sustainability of our lakes and outdoor resources. I have watched both of your videos and you haven't been specific on what you are comcerned about. If you want to have a conversation I suggest you tell us which legislations are going to be "relaxed" and who is behind those actions. You clearly know more than the rest of us, so please stop talking in generalities and let us know what the specific issues are.

Environment is not political. Climate deniers try to make it political. Truth. Big business can make more money with less regulations. So if you love income disparity then you should hate environmental regulations. They pollute and poison us so they can make more money. It seems that same group also thinks they don’t need to pay taxes too. Schools need to teach critical thinking not religion.

I’m old enough to remember what it was like before the clean air and water legislation. I lived in Cleveland in the 60’s, google what happened 6/22/1969 on the Cuyahoga River! We moved to the Hudson River Valley after that and the smog was so bad some days you couldn’t see the NY skylines from the Palisades. I fished all over the North East and saw 3 Bald Eagle by time I was 30! I live in PA know near a lake that had one of the 2 Eagle Nests in 1972 and where they reintroduced them in the early 80’s. We’ve made so much progress since then, we can’t go back! Keep up the good fight Randy, a lot of us are with you!

Drill baby drill.... Do you think he won't keep regulations where they should be.... He already knows he has a lot of people watching him So why would he goof up.... It sounds like your lady doesn't really care about the United States Randy... I let's talk about all the people she has flown over And let walk through the Rio... Those people don't care about us citizens n our children. And your lady did nothing about it... So if she isn't gonna care about her own people.. I'm not talking about Jamaicans .... Pause with the people that pay our taxes and work hard every day to fish and on a boat and be proud.... I don't think she cares too much about the environment that she doesn't care about the people who pay her bill.... So let's stop talking about this... The way you spoke in the past I really thought you were on the right side... Hence the right side.. Sometimes it's disappointing to find out these Views from people we look up 2 from knowledge We don't have... Let's get back to fall Jig fishing and pre jerk baiting...

If you want to have an honest discussion we must agree that when it comes to environmental science,there credible scientists who disagree with the causes of climate change so which one should we believe? And it’s the same with politicians. I believe that our climate changes, but I don’t believe it’s man made and even if it is,the countries who create the bulk of the world’s pollution will not stop. The worst tornado in us history was in 1925 the worst hurricane in us history was in 1900 and the worst wildfire in us history was in 1871 and while this doesn’t prove anything there were scientists and politicians claiming 10 years ago that the rising ocean would be out of control by now. It’s not about climate it’s about money. So if you want to have an honest discussion don’t state your opinion and follow up why people are wrong and be so condescending. People are tired of being told what to think.

Why the reaction/overreaction? OVERREACH by the government! I truly believe almost all anglers believe in leaving the water better than when they come/go to the water. Anglers have always support conservation by using 'the power of the purse'. Along with continuing Ray Scott's vision of growing the sport by continuing catch and release, protecting the water (4 stroke motors), clip-on culling tags, etc. By the way have great success with TTC.

Loyal daily viewer. I’ve asked literally 100’s of times for a piece on toxic Lead use in fishing tackle. It seems you’ll talk about fishing on Mars with Elon Musk before you’ll touch the topic. You owe us all an explanation for your behavior. You dig up toxic lead from our earth, a material so toxic that there is no safe level established in our drinking water, and you make & sell disposable Lead objects from it for profit. The process pollutes our air (dust) and water (leaching, solid lead ingested by wildlife). You claim to be against heavy metals like Mercury, but in your own backyard of Missouri and nearby your beloved Grand Lake lie toxic Lead mining superfund sites. Safer alternatives exist today, and having a discussion about them (both good & bad) would be a great topic for those interested in an environmental issue that impacts all REAL fishermen on a daily basis. Thanks, Randy.

Randy keep up the fight. I dont understand how people as fishermen cannot care about the environment. Obviously climate change is happening. Al Gore warned us. As a country we have always disagreed on how the country should be ran but this current political environment started about 15 years ago with the tea party movement and continued with one person. Debate is healthy, hate isnt. Im always open to other view points if they have bases in reality
@smelltheglove20384 күн бұрын
Al Gore? Nothing he said was gonna happen happened. The biggest issue I see while fishing is "newcomers" poaching fish, leaving massive amounts of trash behind, and being generally disrespectful to our resources. As for climate change, well, we can't really look at 150 years of data and come to any real conclusions. When you zoom out of that 150 years you'll see we are actually still in an ice age. Even if the climate is warming, explain to me how that's a bad thing. Cold is far more deadly to humanity.
@keithmaupin32474 күн бұрын
Al Gore told us that as he drives around in his hummer. We can’t fix the problem when China puts out more toxin in the air than we can remove.

@@kenlay6004 when I was kid it was the ice age we were warned about. My son was warned about global warming, now it's cl8mate change. One thing remained the same. None of their doomsday predictions ever materialize. The planet is greener today than it was 100 years ago. Carbon dioxide is plant fertilizer, naturally occurring, and NOT THE PROBLEM. While the climate has been changing from the beginning, man made change is a lie. Its the absolute height of human hubris. The idea that man can effect cosmic forces is hilarious. The earth's axis shifting over time and sun cycles have far more to do with our climate than anything we have control over.

RANDY PLEASE READ MY COMMENT I CAN 100% ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ❓ The reason you got so much vitriol and hate is because #1 the timing of the video... #2 because of the timing of the video.. it's obvious your political affiliation, and in todays BIG divide in the 'OVERALL' differences in the ideologies of the parties individuals on both sides just see RED when they think the divided are wrong for their thoughts. EVEN if they agree with the subject being discussed is a viable discussion that should be had. If your PERCEIVED TO BE negative about one side in ANY WAY your going to catch Hell from the Hot heads waiting to pounce... We will never reach those people to calmly discuss ANYTHING !! THEY ARE LOST IN THE ANGER part of the frustration. 3. A lot of Americans on both sides NO LONGER TRUST THE GOVERNMENT OR THEIR AGENCIES PERIOD. Because of MIS INFORMATION or flat out lies told to the American public and because of all the different examples of citizens rights being trampled and stompted on by those Federal agencies. A huge amount of Americans do not want to hear ANYONE talk about them and their reach being extended on ANY ground. 4. So ANYONE who talks about these agencies need more restrictions more power more outreach is going down the wrong side of the road to a TON of people Even when it comes to Eviromental "safeguards", because these agencies are just no longer trusted. People have heard the stories of American citizens rights their liberties and their property being taken, taken by force or by new laws or by whatever means necessary and people have DIED. SO THOSE ARE JUST A FEW REASONS OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD WHY I THINK YOU CAUGHT SUCH HATRED. I AGREE RANDY IT'S SAD, IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO YOU, WITH WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO RELAY, BUT FROM THE ABOVE THAT'S MY EXPLANATION FOR SOME OF THE REASONS OUR FELLOW OUTDOORSMAN MAY HAVE BEEN QUICK TO SPEW VENOM YOUR WAY.
