I’m remaking my 24-hour horror game

Since Smokey the Bear is named after a real bear, I was thinking of naming him after a similar event that happened in the games lore "Russell the Owl" (a play on words of rustler) where a owl was being harassed by a rustler that attempted to steal him from the park, only to be saved by a park ranger who named him Russell. Ever since, he became a park mascot and the representative for the protection of Marshall's Park wildlife.

I feel like on the new wicker devil the texture is not as grody and dirty as the old one. The old devil had more matted fur that looked oily as if it had grime baked into it and the texture on the face was more uneven, and I think that's what made it so uncanny, like a deformed corpse. I really can't wait to see the revamped game, keep up the good work!

you could find animal carcasses scattered around, and add binoculars so while exploring the woods you could see the Wicker devil hunt and kill prey, and sometimes he could spot you and look at you, also weapons wise i think you should also add a pistol something like a standard issue glock or revolver based on the time this story takes place

Something that may make it better is if you add the darkness of the old game back. I mean if you make the wicker devils features include less color in the light so when he eats you, you are just staring into the abyss and not a probably weird looking mouth if your house is lighted. Also you could add a toung to the wicker devil that he darts out like a lizard and licks his lips when he gets close to you. I dunno I think it would be pretty cool.

This is very cool! Inspiring to see how such small idea grows into something nice! Though personally i'd recommend to make deer guy more "spooky", like more dim and discolored, almost grey fur like it's winter creature, and maybe "bigger" fur at the torso/neck area? If animating wasn't that hard i'd also recommend to make more twitchy movement (not generic twitching allthough, more like think of a stressful sleepy person with parkinsson)

Suggestion: The Wicker Devil needs more sound depth. When he comes inside the cabin, the floor should do quiet, but noticeable creaks, as well as maybe some breathing or gargling noises from The Wicker Devil that hint to the player he is in the cabin. This suggestion might sound weird, but when the player is outside the cabin and roaming around in the forest, The Wicker Devil should have some dash or scary speed increase. To add to the horror aspect of this game, maybe make him crawl on all for legs to make him even more threatening and terrifying. These are just some minor suggestions, but I think they would certainly go a long way in the game and improve the scary aspect we all want in the Wicker Devil. Keep up the great work and we can’t wait to see the revamp!❤

These are ideas i have that you could maybe, hopefully use in your game: 1.personally i feel like The Wicker Devil is a cool concept but in the future try expanding it into multiple stories with multiple creatures, not now ofcourse but in the far future. 2.make the jumpscares random and multiple to make the classic "in your face" jumpscare better. 3.try including the least amount of humans possible so that you feel more alone and isolated from possible outside help. 4.try making more wildlife that could be a shapeshifted Wicker Devil. 5.Also the hardest one try making a variety of tools to use or can be used against you to help or sabotage you in this game, which makes the playthrouths random completly and helps a ton with replayability, dificulty and fear factor. 6.make it so that the Wicker Devil can enter the cabin even i youre outside to search the cabin, make it random that he either goes in the cabin or stays outside. 7.make it so that the "ambiance" stays completly silent when the devil arrives. note: I know that this is prob not gonna be seen but just incase, ik im prob overestimating youre capabilities in game design and creation and finally i tried to make these ideas original from the rest of the comments but the 7th one i just think is a MUST for your game by a longshot well rest assured GL on the game.
