I think it's the fear of embarrassing yourself. I can't talk to people either, because I get really nervous. It's especially bad when it comes to guys, I just try to avoid them at any cost. It's a type of social anxiety I think, hope he overcomes it soon.

It's an old comment and I don't know if you know now but he really have social anxiety, even this year with their "Skaydive" comeback he just appear in the MV and not promote the song to take a break and focus on a treatmet, he doesn't like have all the cameras attention and thats why you can say he's just "shy" but even since debut he was like this... If idols get nervous with their album released he get panic(?) and more bcs he participate in B.A.P's songs, he really worries about the members more that himself, during that promotions he keep talking with the others and watching their programs, it was sad but good for him don't see him. *sorry if my english is bad*

Lua there was a boy in elementary school who was a mute (At least I thought he was, he never talked. Except for that one time when we had a drill lockdown and we had to hide in the classroom with the lights off and he said he had to pee) and I'd see him everyday at recess by himself. I felt kinda bad for him bc everyone else was playing with their group of friends. I was swinging by myself one day and I saw him go up the slide and I decided to join him. We had so much fun that he started laughing but whenever he tried to say something he just mumbled it incoherently. I was shook bc I never knew he kind of person he was, but then realized he was just like any other kid. He moved schools but I still think of that time every now and then.

The hosts make these half assed jokes and embarrass the guests I don't understand the point of this show sometimes. Light concerns seemed to be resolved fine but a lot of problems that have psychological issues involved always end up looking worse at the end. It makes me frustrated.

It's reality tv, 99% of it is completely fake and 1% of it is based on truth. I understand your concern but please don't take unserious things so seriously. The shows description and aim is to "help take down communication barriers by sharing stories about life". It's not about using professionals to magically overcome and mental illness. Am I like, the only person who disliked how one of the male cast members tried to forcefully turn the Jiyong's head to look at the women in the cast? I mean, that's really offensive to me because he obviously doesn't want to do that; so why do you have to grab his head and try to force him to look when he clearly doesn't want to? That's like the most awful thing you can do to someone who possibly has an anxiety or phobia of something. It takes patience, time and small steps to be able to get comfortable, you can't force someone to immediately face their fear because that doesn't work all the time. People who do this are one of the reasons why they can't speak out or reach help.

Suiei I think because of the cultural difference. It’s (I’m assuming since I’ve only basing it off what I know) rude to not properly greet someone, especially when u’re put on the spot like that. There was a cockroach in our room and I freaked out cause it flied to me, I jump a lot an wriggle my body to take it off but the whole room started laughing and said I look like a fucking idiot (it's even in front of my crush). That's when I stop talking to people and having feelings to someone.

i kinda understand him. i mean i'm not as bad but i get really uncomfortable around guys who are in the same age range as me (18-25ish). even when i'm at a store i try to avoid the male cashiers. i mean if I have to then I will and I'm fine with it but if there's a female cashier I'll always try to go to hers. I think it's because I don't have any brothers or other relatives that are in my age range. I also don't have any close guy friends and I rarely speak to guys. It's fine speaking to them online but I'm an awkward mess in real life and it's really frustrating and I don't know how to fix it. if you watch the full video it becomes clear as to why he is like this. he suffered 2 traumas in his childhood that involved girls and caused him to lose his friends. the first, his friend had a crush on a girl but the rumour spread he liked her. he wasn't interested but the rumour got out of control and as a result it hurt his friend a lot. later on, a rumour was spread that he was trying to get with his close friends girlfriend. the close friend believed the rumours and as a result he lost a close friend. he has a negative relationship where women have been the cause of a loss in his life. he is afraid that by talking to women or interacting with them that bad things will happen, that he might lose more friends or hurt people. obviously this went on for a long time and now he is an adult it is almost instinctive for him to avoid women and not to be able to make eye contact. i really hope things work out well for him, and that he meets some women who are able to understand and to break down the wall of negativity he has built over the years.

That kind of PTSD needs a lot of long-term therapy, it's a complex problem but it can improve a lot with the appropriate type of therapy. I really encourage people with emotional/thinking disorders seek a psychologist because it can make all the difference in your life.

Everyone else been saying it’s social anxiety, but if you really understand his problem, he specifically said it’s just towards females. Since misfortunes always happened whenever there’s a girl involved, he must have had thought that it was better for him stay away and avoid them at all costs. It’s sad that he had bad experiences with females, but what I’m saying is it’s the experience that made him act the way he is towards women, not just simply ‘oh he has social anxiety.’ Lol sorry for the long comment, but I’m just glad that someone sees things the same way I do. I think he has OCD. Based on the last sentence, it seems as if he was afraid bad things would happen if he did talk with girls, which is a common trait with OCD - thinking bad things will happen if they don't do this or do that. Yeah, I've only taken psychology in HS and we were told lots of things about mental disorders, including OCD, where we also saw videos of people with OCD - and they all said the same thing, one of them said "if I don't spit while bicycling, I'm afraid I'll take in the germs and something bad will happen to me", so basically all said that if they didn't do this or that, something bad would happen, and that's what really caught my attention in this video.

Mental health should not be looked down. You cannot say "It is JUST your anxiety." or "Overcome your worries." It won't help a person. Honestly, anxiety is not something that is not serious. It is really hard to have anxiety. I've been suffering from it and I can say that the struggle is real. Although my anxiety is unlike him, the symptoms we are experiencing is really hard. People should understand that mental health is the same as physical health. We shouldn't put it aside and people should also be sensitive saying things because sometimes it will not help but could make it even worse.

i used to have the same type of social anxiety but with boys i used to avoid them at all cost and it started for the same reason than him, i just want to say that you can heal it took time but you can the solution for me was to force myself to talk to them at first it was horrible (i was blushing, sweating, ect...) of course but now i'm completly fine i can talk to boys like i talk to girls. I had this problem a long time ago (I think 3rd grade was when it started) as well but with men. It might be some type of social anxiety, but it eventually faded away completely when I got into 7th grade. I think it’s a problem with self confidence and the fact that it’s usually women who have potential interests in men are what makes that a harder challenge for him. He sees them as someone that’ll judge him. When I started middle school, I eventually saw that girls and boys would always hang out and it seemed normal. I also saw that people won’t judge you on the spot until you talk to them or get to know them a little. That’s when I saw men as just regular people that aren’t there to just judge me. Maybe he should make friends with some women that he can trust. But of course with me as a younger child it wasn’t a very serious problem, it sounds like it is for him though...

I can definitely relate! i am an 18-year-old female and I get approached/asked by guys a lot but now, i tend to isolate myself before putting myself in that situation because i feel really panicked and would rather not put myself through it. Doing this for 3 years, now that I am at uni, I even fear sitting next to them, having a small chat or having any kind of contact, without any particular reason! it is just how my body and mind reacts to it now..i start trembling and sweating as well.. my point is that, the longer you leave it, the worse it gets.. i am receiving counselling as for now but i totally understand this guy! it is not easy

Actually I used to be kind of like that too. I watched a movie once when a young girl got sexually harassed (plus the general fear of sexual predators they put into you at school) and for a while, maybe a couple years, I was scared that any guy would harass or rape me, even people I knew and trusted like my dad, although I know he would never do that. (But in reality, be careful because most harassment/rape cases actually do occur from people that you know.) Anyway I don't know how else to explain it but I just naturally got over it after a while. Sometimes it also involved conversations about times when there were misunderstandings between me and a guy that made me uncomfortable. ~:~

I feel so sorry for him because I have the same problem, but with guys. It’s just really difficult to talk to them or even look at them. I’ve been bullied all my life by some guys and this made me have so many problems in communicating with guys. I always think they’re going to make fun of me or beat me up, cause of my look, stupidity or anything like that. When I go out to eat I always check if the store/restaurant has girls working or just guys. I sometimes ended up not eating cause I would be too scared to order from a guy. The difference with him is that he lives in a place where mental health isn’t really seen as something serious. Just the fact that he went to this program means that he wants to be helped, if only they had a therapist or he would think about going to one, everything would be better for him. I don’t know what happened to him but I hope he’s feeling better and doing something for himself.

I know what he’s feeling. I have severe social anxiety and it’s terrifying to talk to people you don’t know, or people you don’t trust. It also effects how you think others perceive you. For example, I’ve had experiences where I have a conversation with someone I don’t know, and afterwards you have this constant feeling that they hate you. It’s horrible.
