“My daughter is quite naive” I wonder why? Maybe it has to do with the fact that you never let her do anything.

It's because daughter is liberated that's why she's strict
@livent75145 жыл бұрын
As parents, people tend to let their children do things their parents never let them do and restrict things that they thought ruined hen as children. Parents often apply either more lax or more strict versions of their parent’s parenting. My grandma overfed my mom and she became obese. So in turn, my mom is trying her hardest to keep me healthy. Maybe she thinks her child is naive because she can see herself in her child. Maybe she has had bad experiences or had made mistakes that she doesn’t want her child to have/make. Children are a reflection of their parents. It’s only fair that she sees herself in her child and is worried.

@@livent7514 this is what people should know. when you have a problem, solve it. don't procrastinate. the problem is her mom and her mom should go to a psychologist and ask regarding her crazy anxiety. if she keeps living like this, she's going to suffer from mental disorders in the future. yes, keep this up and your whole freaking family will have a mental problem. stop with the stupid worrying excuse, worrying is normal, but people should know to what extent they should worry. i bet this girl will be so problematic in the future, and it's not even her fault in the first place, poor girl.

I never felt like i was truly free, i grew up hating any kind of authority, my trust in mankind was obliterated, i couldn't form any normal relationships, started smoking weed and skipping school.. i mean, what's the point of living a life if all you do is listen to what people tell you what to do? Even now, people try to force me into work while they know i only got the chance to do really shitty jobs, surrounded by people with half my IQ.. Fuck that. I'm growing weed now, if i get caught i get caught but at least i'm doing something that i like and i am not hurting anyone with it, people telling me that's wrong are hypocrite.

j t well for some concerns, yes, your friends may feel better just because they're more comfortable. But a lot of these concerns are actual disorders or problems that only a professional can, and should, properly diagnose and develop a way to treat. If you have something like severe depression, JUST having your friends there may not be the best case. You wouldn't go to your friends if you had an injury or something right? Psychological problems are just as important, sometimes if not more. And the mom in this case may never understand, but professional advice may still be needed just to give her a different perspective.

I think this is a concern what I'm seeing the comments that people are forgetting is that at her age and a bit younger being able to move around town on your own with your friends is normal. Having a restriction that she basically goes to school, then private lessons on weekdays and on her weekends she has to be home by 4-5pm even then she can't really do anything without her mom being in her busy and following her around. She has no freedom to explore and have fun, she does study during the week but I think she should be able to have the weekends to have fun. The privacy thing is just weird though being protective is one thing but this mom is kinda odd going through her daughters phone. And parents shouldn't curse at there children it's not healthy for their mental state and how they view their parents. If the mom keeps this up their relationship when she finally becomes independent will be almost non existent.

Megh Desh cultural differences. I've learned that in most of asia (from what I've seen in korea, japan, china, thailand, and cambodia) parents allow their teens to go out until 8 or so. When I was in those countries I saw a bunch of kids everywhere just freely walking along the streets. I think it's a maturity/trust kind of thing. It may not be the same for you but based on practically everyone's pov aside from the mother, it seems like they're all shocked that the mother only lets her daughter out until 5.

that's exactly right. when I was in middle school, my parents were so strict about me going out. I was not even allowed to sleep in my friend's house eventhough it was a girl. it's very hard for me to hang out with my friends if there are boys too. since they restricted me too much, I became much more interested in those kind of things and I dated a lot, I even got acquaintance with older boys that I got to know from internet etc

Now all of us are shutins aside from one of us. She stays out late every night and returns at 1-2am. That's basically what restricting your children gets you. She's fifteen years old. She is most definitely old enough to go out to the theatre to watch movies with her friends. She is old enough to have a boyfriend, because these things are called living; she needs to learn and experience heartbreak and such while she's young. Privacy MUST be respected, and her mother going through her phone and reading all her text messages and stuff? That's awful. She can't crack dirty jokes and talk about personal things with her friends, because her mother is gong to read them, and get mad. The girl is hardly living. She's pretty much trapped. It's horrible. She needs freedom. She needs privacy. Her mother is building walls between her daughter and society. She's not going to be as close with her friends, as they're scared of her mother, and she can't even hang out with them. The boys will think she's a freak. And most importantly, the girl is UNHAPPY.

my parents were never THIS bad when I was growing up, but they were controlling as hell. no internet after 10pm till I was 14, no t.v. on weekends, be home by 9, etc. So the minute I left home (I study medicine abroad) I was drinking, smoking, going out around three times every week etc. I'm not as bad now, but I still do smoke, and drink, and have a bad time maintaining relationships with guys. they're much less controlling now, but I still find it hard to fully trust them, and if I have issues I go to my friends or try to solve it myself. I know this is long, but it's unhealthy to treat your kids this way, it's borderline abusive.

Was it hot ? eehh.... tbh, my parents were pretty much what you just described and even if i was so mad at them, because i wasn't allowed to have internet in the evening, but to be honest, at that age it's also kind of understandable now that i'm 19... i was never drinking, smoking, never dated, never went to the disco or did anything like that.. i mean, i really don't judge anybody, my point is more like: strict parents aren't the reason for all of the things you do :) (once again, i REALLY don't judge you! like, for real, i do NOT think you are bad or anything like that. besides, you already mentioned, that you got better! :3 so that's cool and i seriously cheer for you and hope that you can be truly happy~)

Well, it's actually not that good to be so strict with your daughter because sometimes they might turn rebellious just like my friend. But the fact that the girl is 15 and already dated 10 boys must be a worry, because you never know what can happen. So i think it's ok that her mom is strict about it. But seriously locking your child in your house and not letting her go out in any place is a bad parenting

@shawolinspiritFTW7 жыл бұрын
I think her mother is worried cos she knows her daughter is very pretty 😂 But I can understand her mom tho. My mom was worse than her, i could only have my own phone when i entered the university and it was sooo hard for me to be allowed to go out with my friends (i only have that freedom in my last year of degree). And when i think about it now, it was kinda wise to control me like that cos now that i reflect back on my life, there were many bad choices that i could make if my mom wasn't there to stop me. But yes controlling excessively like that could make kids to be rebellious too.I think the difference here is that instead of the mom making the daughter be afraid of her by scolding her and such, she should make her daughter obey her out of love and respect, and not fear? Idk but for me, the only reason i didn't go long with my rebellious phase was cos i love and respect my mom too much to trouble her and make her upset, not that i'm saying the daughter doesn't love her mom. Ugh idk how to explain 🤷♀️

The sad thing is that my friends parents are exactly like this also. They take away her phone at night and dont let her have it until noon, they don't let her have her phone alone in her room, they look through her social media, pictures, notes, etc. They take away her school chromebook, they make her take down blm and lgbtq things she posts, *she doesn't even have a door to her room.* And in 3 days, (when school starts again) she's only allowed to have her phone for an hour a day. She was recently diagnosed with depression but her parents don't help her at all and just keep restricting things. No matter how many reasons we come up with of why should should have more privacy, they don't listen because to them, we're still just dumb kids who don't know any better. Please, if any of you are pregnant or planning to have kids, don't do this to them. She cuts daily and I can't be there to stop her because her family doesn't trust us together. Please let your child have freedom. Just because you created them doesn't give you the right to control everything they do.
