All of the dance moves in aI Can Do it with a Broken Heart are moves from other songs in the Eras Tour. She is basically recreating a mini Eras Tour performance in this one song. I can’t take credit for figuring that out but when you see some of the video Reels that some people have done matching them up with their corresponding movements in other songs it becomes clear and is a really cool and creative way to bring to life in a live performance what you see in the lyric music video for the song, especially when you add the costume and intro skit which makes it look like you are seeing underneath and behind the song that she is performing everything on stage during the tour as a circus performer. It is kind of like what I would imagine a filmmaker might do cutting back and forth between clips of the same performance what everyone sees from the outside in (ie the Eras Tour) overlaid and alternating with the clips doing the exact same performance in circus performer attire showing the performance from her internal POV. I honestly would not be surprised given how creative she is and how she plans things so far in advance that she might not create another music video like that and/or if this is part of even a Broadway musical or a Broadway musical “film” about this duplicitous life she lives in the public eye or focused on the Eras Tour itself or something like that. I mean there are plenty of people that have suggested someone create a musical with her as the focus, like American Idiot, We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, Bat Out of Hell, all based on certain musical artists, bands or albums they put out. It also wouldn’t surprise me that using the title Female Rage The Musical on the marquee is perhaps an Easter Egg that she is working on or has written just such a musical and this performance is a sneak peak at what that might look like. I mean even she has acknowledged since dipping her toe beyond music video into the short film genre, that she has been working on a writing a full length film that she wants to direct and produce at some point. While I haven’t heard her mention anything about a Broadway musical, that would seem to fit with her personality and talents and something I think she would be passionate about. Again just look at performances in the Eras Tour that she created that incorporates full stage performance art like Tolerate It. It feels like as time goes on she is giving everyone glimpses at pieces of what a larger Musical (stage or film) might contain and look like. And to take it a step further, doing something like this would be completely consistent with where she is at in life if she has any desire to start a family (not saying she does or doesn’t, but it would not be shocking, given her age and how much she loves kids and hints at lyrics in this new album, although many might disagree and not see what I have buried in there). If she wants that it would not surprise me to see her try to find a way to “settle” a little more for a period primarily staying in one place without all the insane travel and touring which is not hugely conducive to starting a family while still bringing her art and passion to fans and being able to entertain them. Don’t get me wrong, it is not at all impossible to start a family while traveling and on tour, see e.g. Pink and others who have done it, but many have also acknowledged it not easy and often not the ideal first choice for many artists who have instead chosen something like a Residency or similar opportunity. Anyway, these are the thoughts I keep having, the more I see including things noticed and shared by deeply devoted long term Swifties who know all the history and lore and ways she works, like little potential puzzle pieces and Easter eggs, the more even I, as a relatively new fan of TS experiencing and diving into her music and talent and artistry for the first time ever this last year. I am in my mid fifties and I have come to really love and appreciate her music and talent and commitment to her craft, along with her intelligence and business savvy. She really is one of a kind and the depth to what she does is really astounding at times. No wonder people go down rabbit holes trying to decide everything she does (sometimes to the point of unhealthy obsession). I never thought I would be someone who did that. But I am also someone who loves puzzles and mysteries and solving things. So here I am musing about what might be to come from TS based on clues in a performance like this. 😂
