This perfectly captures the mess that is local politics, and the need for folks to get involved to make change ✊

I watched this whole video without reading the views or your sub count, and oh man you could’ve told me any number (in the MILLIONS) and I would’ve believed it, because this video was that good. Millions should be watching videos like this, it’s what going to save us and our local communities. Thank you 😊

I have no idea why this came up in my recommendations but I’m glad it did. My fiance grew up in Saginaw, and it has a small enough profile beyond the locals that I rarely see anything about it. Already love your content based on this video, so I guess I know what I’m watching today. Ty for expressing the general resentment about the state of things a lot of us feel without it turning into common pessimism.

I struggle to understand the thought process of basically gluing an outdoor monument together. It is frustrating to be consistently embarrassed by the actions and inaction of your home town.

I cannot tell you how validating it is to have a dude who knows how to put stuff together comment this. Thanks homie

A few comments here: First off, I am also from Saginaw, seen that rock, and thought it was super weird! Thank you for doing what you could about it, sorry it didn't turn out the way you hoped, and hope something better can be done in the future. Secondly, I know Dave! We went to high school together! The Griddle was his little project back then, and it's awesome it's still kicking around after more than a decade.

My family is from Saginaw. Im in and grew up in Metro Detroit tho, but I go a lot to visit. I had no idea about the rock until the discourse about it came up, but unfortunately wasnt surprising. Im a somewhat recent subscriber, so was very surprised to see a video about Saginaw lol. It's cool to see local action though!

@@NickolasNameolas all of the rural areas south of a certain point are dominated by political machines and you physically can't drive through any of these communities without a speed trap or multiple speed traps. I am also from the southeast Michigan area, so I appreciate this video especially. Commenting to boost algorithm. So that stone isn’t even dedicated to the town founder (that would make more sense) just the first white dude to show up? Edited: I finished the video, wow not even the actual first anything. wtf.

Just found this channel and fell in love with it and I could have never in a trillion years guessed you were from my city. The first thing I said when I clicked the first video I watched from you was “This look like someone I know,” And now I’m terrified out of my mind. What the fuck.

Bro, was it you or KZbin that deleted my comment regarding getting rid of the rock direct action-style? I was really interested in the topic of the video (and wanted to signal that to The Algorithm by engaging), but when I couldn't trace my way back here via my comment I thought the whole video must have been taken down.

@@NickolasNameolas Huh. I wonder what exactly I said that KZbin didn't like then. If they're going to automatically scan for naughty words or whatever, I wish they'd at least give us the list of what they are. Also my original comment was asking how risky it would be for private individual/s to deal with the rock vigilante-style, since official channels continue to fail the people of Saginaw. I've never been there, but from your video it looks as though that part of the park wouldn't be very visible at night.
