Please, after visiting Marsa-Matrouh and El-Alamin, do not try to cross the border to Libya. It is worse than Egypt 10 times as far as I know 😆 Keep up the good work.

Uh, going to Libya is not that easy, the visa is very hard to get. My final destination is Siwa, which I already mentioned at the beginning of the road trip in Cairo. So you don't gotta worry about me trying to go to Libya. Border crossings with a motorcycle aren't just as easy as crossing. You need permits and permissions. And like I said, the visa is hard to get anyways

@Gventures by the way, the policeman in Alexandria stopped you from entering the Meena because it is like a port... Meena in Arabic means port. They have high security to prevent people from smuggling stuff. Ships come from all over the world to this port. They were even mirroring down vehicles. They may even have battleships there, too 😆

@MoonKnight_Jake thanks, yeah a few people have mentioned that now. I only knew the name Mina before today. Now I know it also means port 😅 This is how I've learned so many new words, real life situations where I didn't know it but should have. Live and learn 😁

My goodness, Gisselle, this was such a tiring day for you. I'm guessing that after your night's stay at the hotel, you didn't/won't remember much about the drive!! 😂 Anyway at least the hotel looked nice, and very reasonably priced even though it's not really your cup of tea!! I loved the doggie(s) who welcomed you there at 44:44 - so sweet!! Back along the way, I liked the older man and his pal who did their best to help you. At least they tried more than the younger guy at 25:56 who just kept walking!! I laughed when you pulled away as these guys were still watching out for you from the side of the road at 28:33 !! I was trying to follow you on my FlightRadar24 app (yes, I'm a bit of a plane geek!), and I even saw Marina 2 where you were staying. This whole area has built up so much since I was there around 30 years ago. Much luck on the next part of your trip through El Alamein and on to Marsa Matruh. Another great video, Gisselle, made in the face of adversity!! 😆 😊
@Gventures3 күн бұрын
So, so tiring! I think I was a little cocky the night before and thought "Ah, it's just a two hour drive, I'll be fine!" Guess again! 🤦♀️ Never will I underestimate a short drive again (nor will I drive with no sleep 😅). Thanks to my channel and constantly recording, whether my memory is hazy or not, it's now saved forever (maybe that's a good thing, maybe that's a bad thing, but whatever the case, it's here forever now 🤣). It was very good to arrive to the hotel, I was so dead. I even laid down on the floor while the guy checked me in (he got flustered when I did that and said "no no the manager is right there!" 😆 I said "So what? I'm the guest!" But I dragged myself to my feet again until I got shown to my "room." 😅 The little pup was a good welcome though, and he seems to be having a good life out there. The gentleman who pointed me in the right direction was very sweet, and patient. Despite the language barrier and me blabbering nonsense, he did his best to understand what the hell I was saying (I barely knew what I was saying myself) and sent me in the right direction. It was cute they were watching to make sure I went the right way too. I'm lucky to meet people who are willing to help me and put up with my bs 😅 Oh FlightRadar24! By boyfriend uses that to check the flights or any delays of incoming tourists that are arriving so he can know when to go to the airport to pick them up (he occasionally does pick-ups). This leg of the journey wasn't so easy, but Marsa Matruh will be great. I've been most excited to get far away from Cairo and into unknown regions, to places I haven't been where the vibes are different. Have you ever been to Marsa Matruh before?

Wtf is Disneyland Arabic. Google Maps gets me where I need to be, it just gives me shitty routes many times. I am not using a paper map (like that even exists for Alexandria anyway, lol. Plus it's not the 90's), so I follow what I have available to me. Obviously it's not the best (one time in Aswan it told me to drive off a cliff 🤣) but it gets me somewhere better than I could do on my own, and I'm not a local so obviously I don't know where I'm going. I actually thought 2 hours would be easy, which is why I f-ed up and stayed up all night hanging out and not sleeping like I should have, which really screwed with my head, my patience and my energy levels. Getting to Siwa should be real fun 🤣 For my future rides I plan to sleep

I am wondering what you wrote to GPS 😂 because from minute one I said noooooooooooooooo where are you going that is not the right road ........ Egypt now is all about bridges 🌉 you go through city instead of go from out side . You need some one know the road and bridges. Mena is a governmental port for big ships of goods and products exchange so you can't go there without approvment. North cost is soooooo long consist of many resorts and villages one of them marina which you went. New allamin still far from marina , that is not new allamin. Sea in north cost most beautiful water ever but you need know where you go . I wished you had better experience may be next time.
@Gventures2 күн бұрын
I wrote North Coast into GPS. GPS just sucks. I don't need someone to show me, that's just a part of traveling somewhere you are unfamiliar with, you don't always take the best route. Which is fine. I was trying to DRIVE through the North Coast, not stay there. I booked a place that SAID it was in Alamein. It's clearly on the outskirts, so you can blame booking for that. Anyways, it's all fine, I didn't even want to come to Alamein, I am just passing through. Travel is not always perfect and that is totally okay
@marwamagdy40432 күн бұрын
@Gventures I really wish you do it again . North cost is a magical place and ideal for summer vacation( I live only for that week 😀). Go there for relaxing and having fun. But first you have to make a good research about what you need, a quite place just sea and white sands and nice price( good sahal 👌) or place full of parties and activities and highly expensive prices ( evil sahal👿 ). I hope you tried again before good sahal disappeared

@Gventures2 күн бұрын
@@zizoesy89 Oh that's definitely not a new idea for me, I've been looking at possible road trips I can go anywhere from Egypt ever since I first crossed the country almost 2 years ago. I also like to read books about people cycling across the world, and also watch other KZbinrs traveling on various bicycles and motorcycles around the world. Before first coming to Egypt in 2021 I actually almost bought a bicycle in Turkey and biked from Turkey to Egypt. The problem was passing through Syria for me at that time, so I scratched that plan, but who knows, maybe in the future I will do it with motorcycle. There's actually a problem with going to South Africa right now, which is passing through the country right below Egypt, Sudan. They are in a midst of a war. I hear things are improving, ever so slowly, but it's still a war zone, and I'm not trying to drive through a war zone. But I have been looking at driving my motorcycle to India from Cairo. Whichever direction I decide to go, the other issue with big, long road trips is money. I ain't rich yet, and I don't want to set out on a trip I can't sustain. I need to be able to afford months and months of travel, with money going out but little coming in 😅 But trust me, I've been planning smaller trips and working on planning bigger trips for the future, when I am able to.
