NB: The cars come as is and are repossessed cars by banks. Also note the car price (hammer price) are excluding VAT (15%) and also admission costs(R2 500). 1st thing to know before going to this auction, you need to register on their website and have a R5 000 deposit (Refundable), for every 1 car you want to buy (Not bid), on your account. Example if you want to buy 2 cars, you'll deposit R10 000. You'll have access to the cars that will be up for the auction, the day before to inspect them for tomorrow's auction. When buying, for an example a R100 000 car, you'll add R2 500 + 15%. R100000 + R2500 + 15% Total cost = R117,875

Don't think it's easy to pitch up & buy a car, you will lose money on that "bargain". You need to go to multiple auctions, from start to finish, & learn the process. E.g. A) the auctioneer wants to 1) make as much money for themselves & 2) make as much money for their customer (the bank). They don't care about you, the bank is their customer. B) a 2 year old vehicle with 150 000km on the clock has more than likely had the k@k driven out of it by some employee. C) a vehicle that has been repaired but did not have the airbags replaced (R 20 000 - R50 000 per airbag). And D) the vehicle's odometer could be run back (100 000 - 200 000 km). Also, the bank can pull a sale if they are not happy with the selling price (usually vehicles with minor damage, lesser known (Chinese) makes or very expensive makes.

These cars are not a bargain, especially the German Machines. And hey, basic mathematics shows that the Ranger had clocked 114000 KM in a period of 2 years or less... That's too much travel covered in a short space of time. Probably with a lot of hidden problems.

It's not absurd. 57K kms is around 220 km a day, five days a week for one year. I have colleagues that work in mines that do over 250 km daily round trip to work. Those are mostly motorway miles at steady speeds and their cars tend to get to 300k without many issues. Granted they normally buy Toyotas or German cars for reliability

Make sure you don't buy a lemon
