Mind-blowing performance worthy of a Broadway stage. I'm not even a big fan of JCSS, but I'd put Dan's version of Gethsemane up against Ted Neely's any day and still consider his better. Very impressive for the original style of the song. Like Ted n has some serious competition for my favorite version of this style. I saw this performed by Michael Crawford at radio city in 1992 when I was 15 (alone of course) and I said then it was like one big long chill that lasted the length of the whole song and beyond the standing ovation. I agree with your estimation of the skills and emotion that Dan put into this performance. I don't agree with the totality of the song, itself, and that's as far as I'll go with whether or not it is totally scriptural. It doesn't really matter, as far as the TOTAL EXCELLENCE of Dan's performance is concerned. He really is the BEST...hands down, completely...in my opinion. Viking Reacts is always saying that Dan doesn't just SING a song, or even just PERFORM a song. Something within Dan brings him to the point of BEING the song. I tend to agree.
