I would not imagine being in this same position like Sheila. I would absolutely reach a Breaking Point if I had to put up with any ridiculous rules for years and years. That would be a nightmare for me. That will affect me emotionally, mentally and personally. I am so glad that didn’t happen to me. I am so happy to be myself and be who I am and do what you love to do and do best.

I'm 42 and can't even have one or two hours to brush my teeth and head to sleep with the light off without my mom come charging home quick as to say, "Don't have to run downstairs to open the door, I wish you would leave everything how I had it." In our house, my mom likes to run lights on, even when no one is in the room and even for our cat at 4am in the morning, you can't go to sleep early I'm the house, nor wake up early because it is too "suspicious" to her and all your money goes towards feeding outside feral cats which is ridiculous.

@Aesthetic_WeebLOL Yeah, or take her to a doctor and be scolded like a child, because some of those rules are dangerous, I mean, you can drink anything during a meal, even when you can choke to death , and you can't sleep in your bed until night-time even when your sick, and the most crazy rule is that you can't watch fairytales because there's no such thing as bad mothers, does she never go outside in the real world, never watch the news or documentaries? I've lived parents who were strit, but not crazy rules like her, I know my parents and older sister loves me and wants the best for me and I can't even be ungrateful for that.

Imagine if Sheila continued to put up with her mom and especially her Ridiculous rules for years. It will get to the point where Sheila would reach a Breaking Point where she still not get over it. And that shouldn’t happen to anyone else who had to put up with any parent ridiculous rules. No children should never have to be punished for something they didn’t do. That is child abuse no doubt about it. But imagine if I was Sheila Dad and she told me about that i would be furious, livid and angry no doubt about it. I would change the rules and let Sheila be herself, be happy and I’ll let her do what she loved doing. No child should ever have to put up with anyone weird rules for that matter. That is child abuse and that is abuse of power.

Easy, leave a note that you can’t handle those rules anymore and run away, you can do it during the summer so you don’t miss school and it will be enough time for your mom to get gel from a psychologist (you should mention that she should see one in the note)
@harmonystarr15503 жыл бұрын
If you're being treated like this, you need to tell someone. Your mom has no right to treat you this way. She doesn't own you, even if she is your mom. Why should you listen to her just because she's bigger and older? You have a right to say and do something in this situation.

I think Sheila's Mum has obsessive-compulsive disorder as someone in my college told me that their Mum has severe OCD, and she said she and her siblings can't wake up until both parents have gone to work. These weird obsessions Sheila's Mum has is OCD. OCD has 3 main elements: obsessions - where an unwanted, intrusive and often distressing thought, image or urge repeatedly enters your mind emotions - the obsession causes a feeling of intense anxiety or distress compulsions - repetitive behaviours or mental acts that a person with OCD feels driven to perform as a result of the anxiety and distress caused by the obsession Some common obsessions that affect people with OCD include: fear of deliberately harming yourself or others - for example, fear you may attack someone else, such as your children fear of harming yourself or others by mistake - for example, fear you may set the house on fire by leaving the cooker on fear of contamination by disease, infection or an unpleasant substance a need for symmetry or orderliness - for example, you may feel the need to ensure all the labels on the tins in your cupboard face the same way Common types of compulsive behaviour in people with OCD include: cleaning and hand washing checking - such as checking doors are locked or that the gas is off counting ordering and arranging hoarding asking for reassurance repeating words in their head thinking "neutralising" thoughts to counter the obsessive thoughts avoiding places and situations that could trigger obsessive thoughts Not all compulsive behaviours will be obvious to other people.
