I'm 42 and can't even have one or two hours to brush my teeth and head to sleep with the light off without my mom come charging home quick as to say, "Don't have to run downstairs to open the door, I wish you would leave everything how I had it." In our house, my mom likes to run lights on, even when no one is in the room and even for our cat at 4am in the morning, you can't go to sleep early I'm the house, nor wake up early because it is too "suspicious" to her and all your money goes towards feeding outside feral cats which is ridiculous.

My crazy rule is that I have to turn in my phone at 10:00 PM even when i don’t have school because my mom says that i spend too much time on my phone and that i always stay up at 2:00 AM on my phone so I have to turn in my phone at 10:00 PM. I guess the whistling is what triggers her. Make a notebook of everything that your mom put you through and keep track of which rule you followed and break them by accident. It can make it to more then one, but you can also try to convince her that some of these rules can harm others, like the beverage thing while eating for example. Also, whatever dream you have for the future, peruse it, even if you had to work late on some job or schoolwork, especially if it’s technically against your mom’s rules. If it all goes well, do share with us and tell us how you got through this pain from her unfair house rules.
