My brother was working at a pizza restaurant and a kid asked how old he was. "29" my brother said. Kid: "dang you're like half way to being 60". My brother is still upset about this.😂

I think the harshest thing is how he didn’t even let you respond. He just said “I’m sorry for your misfortune” and immediately left. What do you say to that? It doesn’t matter. They came in, inflicted the damage, and didn’t even care enough to listen to what you had to say… I’m sorry bro 😢

Don't feel bad, man. I'm gonna be 42 in a couple of weeks, and after getting hit by a car while walking across the street and having 39 pieces of surgical grade titanium holding my lower spine, left hip (point of impact), and both of my legs together, I assure you that things could be a Hell of a lot worse. I can still walk but I need a cane most of the time, I can stand up and get around though when I've got to. The arthritis from my thoracic spine straight to my toes is actually the worst bit, but I just use quite a bit of cannabis because it's not an opioid painkiller, and I've put too many friends and family members in the ground because of those things.

Mine was a neighbor kid running up to me because "you're an adult" after her grandmother fell down the stairs and got knocked out (both are fine now, 4 years later) It felt weird explaining to the police why a child I have no relation to was hugging me

This one time I was hanging out with my friend and his little brother's friends and we were talking about Dragon Ball Z. I mentioned how when I was a kid, I used to save up my lunch money and spend it on VHS tapes to collect all the episodes. They all began murmuring, one of the kids was like "What's a VHS?", another said "Why didn't you just use Crunchyroll?" and this other kid said "Y'know TVs have color now, grandpa?". It's been like 5 years since that convo and it still sticks with me lmfao

I am still "just" 23, but oh my god this comment is so nostalgic. I remember that I always used to record the episodes that aired on TV on VHS Tapes. but damn that last kid's sentence must've hurt lol.

I was in the gym once, when I was approached by this kid who’d seen me lift a few times and he asked why do I never go heavier than him, given the fact I looked “built”. I told him I had prior injuries and could only go as heavy on some lifts as my body allowed me to. He then stated, “Oh yeah, age does that to you. You should definitely not exert yourself too much.” I was 25yo at that time and kid was 20yo… Some people just don’t know how age works.
@blasphimus9 ай бұрын
Yeah, and when you get an injury you really don't want it to get worse. Same kid would be 25, injure himself and then wake up at 30 worrying about if he's got another 40-50 years of worsening pain. Your twenties is 10 years of your life and you're middle aged until 50 then you don't really get old until some time in your 70's. Most people just look like shit in their 30's because they don't stay fit and at that point 30 can look 50 at times.

The fact that he said "I'm sorry" says a lot. He has good social awareness but it's not good for him. He knows that age gap won't do well for much socializing, it's just going to be awkward. But this way, he won't have a chance to socialize. At least he didn't scream at you like a toddler.
