I tried to do something similar to this, where I tried to really draw out the experience. I did that by making full builds for all my npc’s and arenas and my house. I focused mostly on building, (as that’s my strong suite) and just over prepped for bosses so I didn’t have to stress about them. It was really fun and I like going back to the world to look at the builds and experiences that I had. I got every achievement that I hadn’t gotten previously on the world, got all armor sets, zenith etc. I hope you have a similar experience that I had.

Yeah, it's been great so far! Some of the most fun I've ever had in the game. I actually went into it not wanting to rely on building too much because building is the sort of thing you either love or hate so I wanted to see if there were other ways to keep myself occupied. Though I have found myself loving building more and more as the run has continued.

For coral stuff you need shells, stone and coral and then you need to be in water to make coralstone. You can then use coralstone to make coral furniture! I just did it for the first time the other day lol. IMPORTANT though--you can't use reefstone to many furniture. It has a similar recipe to coralstone. While I like the furniture, the lamps/candles are really dim. My favorite beach pylon housing is to make a pirate ship. I make it smaller at first when I just have the angler and the golfer/stylist (I didn't know this but the golfer likes the angler. I did know that the stylist likes the beach, but the pirate, who also likes the beach, hates the stylist) and add a second story once I get the pirate because he sells ship sail walls. I usually use beams to make the mast and put sails around it :)

i had my first pc world for 3+ years, it was amazing, i learnt how to play the game, i defeated all the bosses, the world was 100% pure, the bestiary was very almost full and i had nearly researched all the items, my biggest build on it was a giant palace i made which was only half done, i also had many towns, more as i progressed and learnt how the game worked recently though, i had to factory reset my pc and lost all my terraria saves exept for my first character, the one i had on that world as i thought it had cloud saved (steam said it did but it hadnt), so seeing this series has definitly made me feel better about losing it all, i think its great seeing someone else do the same as i had done before, even though on a much smaller timespan, its great stuff! thank you for helping resinise the progress i thought had forgotten of my first world, its really been a journey :D

IIRC the thing with the Venus Magnum being better than megashark was because the old version was single-action, i.e. 1 click = 1 bullet. it wasn't automatic until autoswing/fire was added to literally everything as just a toggleable setting. it got to keep its great single action stats and it already had good fire rate, it was just a pain to take advantage of previously.

The next stage I find the old one's army melee set (Valhalla knight armor) to perform better than beetle armor. Because you can spawn 4 ballistas and the armor also increases summoning damage it helps a lot with soloing events. I also find the sword that betsy drops to be much much better than the terra blade in general. If you can find a way get ichor flasks as they are pretty good with melee builds in general.

@@Throarbin correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you only have to defeat golem to unlock the armor set and the final ballista. So I think you'll have to suffer a little but you technically don't have to beat it. As for the sword, you do have to beat betsy.

3:45 as a ranger main I also don't care for the shroomite set, mostly because the bonus. I orefer to use a combination of shroomite with the tier 3 ranger summoner armor from the tavern keep. i forget which piece but one of them beats out the raw stats of pure shroomite excluding the set bonus.

The paladin’s hammer is actually really good against Golem. It has piercing, so it can hit both hands and the head in phase one. Combine that with its decent damage and high speed, and it tears through the solar sentry.

The only thing that changed for the Venus Magnum was the ability to enable auto-fire for all weapons that didn't already have it. That was literally the only thing holding the weapon back, was that it was a post-plantera weapon without auto-fire.

Well, it is the 13th best selling game of all time. It just seems like an oddly difficult to make content on it succeed which contributes to there being less "conversation"

Quick tips that I think might help: 1st: Underground mob farm. To do this, you have to create a huge underground space 84 block of width in both directions and 47 to the top and bottom of the cave. After that, build a large platform that goes from one side of the space to the other from the center of the space. To finish things off, create an artificial biome that you can easily change with the clentaminator, for example, the crimson (you can see how to do this in the wiki). By using the clentaminator, you will be able to cycle much faster the biomes to get the different types of enemies. Conveyor belts that you can get from the Steampunker are kinda nice for those types of farms so that the items go automatically to one location. 2nd: The Grand Design. Craft it and you will understand why I recommended it to you. It will make things much easier whenever you are building circuits or mechanisms. 3rd: Teleportation network. As you know, there is a limited amount of pylons so you usually have to make do with whatever you have when traveling, however there's a way to fix this "problem" and it is by making a teleportation network. This network basically consists on using Teleporters from the Mechanic and a switch. The Grand Design will help you a lot since it has a lot of range and as long as you have enough cables, you will be able to connect two places that are farm apart quite fast. I built this in my first Terraria world and it was really helpful when traveling since I could simply go to the "Teleporter room", press a switch when standing under a certain teleporter and at the next moment I'm where I wanted to go. The advantage that these have is that they are infinite and can even go to the underworld. (Talking about teleportation, get a rod of discord since even if you don't want to use it against bosses, it will help when moving around through different caves. If you have shimmer then throw it in it to get the rod of harmony which is much better) 4th: Money farm. I liked farming money by doing pirate invasions. They are quite easy and when you get your hands on a Lucky Coin, your efficiency will be much higher. You can then fuse the lucky coin with the gold ring to make the coin ring which is quite convenient when farming money. Also, a tip for farming pirate invasions is doing so in the beach biome so that the enemies from the event are the ones supplying you with the necessary pirate maps. Nice series btw, I've been enjoying them lately after discovering this channel :)

@@Throarbin Try scraping the illuminant coat off the crystal blocks as it prevents all lighting effects. Gemspark walls added for lighting looks better scattered than concentrated IMO. Now that you have access to echo coating, you can hide any light source and just get the glow. Some blocks and walls emit particles that are fun to incorporate (Demonite, Crimtane, Meteorite, Shroomite) Also I subbed because of this series. Love the concept and execution!

Did you try that other OTC medication for skill issue called Doritos? They've got multiple variations of it, they say that the "Nacho Cheese" variant is the most effective but all the cool kids opt for "Cool Ranch" and say they don't need the strong stuff. Edit: I've had worse than that "arena", it basically looked like that room but the left side didn't slightly open upwards and it was mirrored. Awful stuff. I seem to get those uncharacteristically often cause I have only ever generated Large worlds when possible unless it was pre-1.4 and playing on the 3rd party 64-bit version of the game (it was 32-bit until then) which had the option of EXTRA LARGE which was like double the size or something.

the reason the venus magnum is so good now isn't because of a buff they gave to it (although they did in fact buff it a little), the reason it's so good now is simply because they made it autofire. no more getting carpal tunnel by trying to use the weapon!

A way to stick with the challenge todo with the Marsion madness even is to just trash all the item drops or this second way isn't the best time efficient but you could log out of the world when you see a mansion saucer

Logging out BEFORE martians spawn could work. Though throwing the stuff away wouldn't really work. Mostly it's the spirit of the challenge as opposed to where we actually are in progression. It's not a real big deal but hopefully we can avoid it.

Strangely... I think the yellow-glowing green looked MORE radioactive than just the green one. But that seems like a fun enough project to work on. Might do it on one or more of my worlds, now that the next update is likely delayed til '24. (source: "State of the Game") PS: I heard there's an old-school remedy for that "Skill Issue" you suffer from. I think it was something called a "git-gud scrub!" or something? I never was good with the spelling of special-treatment names. ;) ALSO PS: Yeah, I KNOW that it wasn't a scrub that was made with a product called git-gud, but it fit his joke of it being an illness; and that's part of the joke. So deal with it. ;P NOTE: Make sure you are using the GG wiki. Not only is the Fandom one outdated, out-modded, and outright awful to the websites it buys up... But Some people in the Terraria wiki, actually put erroneous information on the Fandom site, in hopes that they will eventually give up, and the let the real (as of an announcement from Red) official GG wiki take over.
