I do a similar thing, much to the anger of my friends who I play with. At least one of them most;y wants to speedrun, but as I always own the world, there is not much they can do. I personally dont find it hard to get at least 100 hours on a character, usually much more. We just finished Master Mode, which yielded us the best world yet (In terms of builds an infrastructure), and next we are going onto Master Mode Calamity, which is where my slow and steady play-style can really shine. I'm usually Melee (bc as I play so much, I'm the best at dodging, and the extra aggro from melee gears helps with that a lot), but I'm going to be going ranger, so thats going to be interesting. Sorry for the rant, I just really wanted to share

FINALLY somebody apprecieate the beauty of pre-hardmode's simplicity. Hardmode is just... Noisy. As you said, hardmode is very tryhardly, the game wants to keep you busy at all the time. Of course you do enter it, it still has a lot of things worth playing, but it's like comparing village with a city. The larger city may provide more of everything, but that's the village's beauty. It's calm. It's simple. Sit down and don't worry for a moment.

This series seems perfect for a build I had in mind for quiet some time now but could never get around to making it myself. A giant building resembling a museum (always imagined it would be made of marble) where you would have every boss trophy, every enemy banner, every armour set and a whole bunch of weapons/tools hung up in frames, and all of it divided by biomes or stages of progression. Think it would fit really well into this world.

You should try using accent stone slab for your dungeon build to accentuate certain elements! It can really add a lot to a build. Also, if you want to go for an industrial like build, I suggest using iron bricks and tin/copper plating. Using gray paint in conjunction with those can really make that metallic feel very prominent!

I noticed really early on in the build for the dungeon that you had problems with the crafting system taking too long. One easy fix is going into your settings and turning off frame skip. Depending on how high your monitors refresh rate is, it can drastically increase crafting. The downside to doing this is that there's a few weird quirks that come with this. Sometimes torches turn off for a frame. While placing objects sometimes the object will flash violently while hovering it over a place able area. etc.

I don't like afking tho, i make things that make me play the game (or work in the background (like in minecraft)). Throarbin, a good way to increase crafting speed (if you have a higher refresh rate monitor) would be to turn frame skip off! It increases the tick speed of the game, which increases a few actions like crafting or buying, but it keeps the rest of the game at the same speed. keep in mind, this only works with >60 hz
@youknowwho5251 Жыл бұрын
The only issue with Terraria is that there's only so much space to work with. You can build massive and grand mansions, homes, and decorate your whole world to massive extents, but you've got a limited space, even in a big world. And it's all in a 2D space, so it's not like Minecraft where you have that 3D environment to build in, but both games have their pros, and those pros are really cool and awesome, so play both and enjoy em :)

If you get bored, why not make a Hall of Progression, where you collect armor sets, weapons, and accessories for every class through the different stages of progression, and have a massive area where you show it off. I so agree that a lot of people rush through the game's progression! I always loved playing on the same world and have been doing it since I got the game the day it released on Xbox 360. Sadly my original world i poured thousands of hours into got corrupted in the move to next generation consoles, so I had to start from scratch with only a handful of things I brought over on my one character from 360, who at that point I only brought over to keep some rare items i didn't want to grind for again before deleting him off of the new gen console lol.

Farming in terraria is my favorite part. Most farming in terraria, crops aside, is actually not worth doing because the droprates in the game are just not that bad (I mean, rod of discord is, but all the other super rare drops are usually never worth the time investment, as it could've been spent practicing bosses, making a better boss arena, progressing the game etc). It's usually more efficient to run about for 20 minutes with a blue candle and a battle potion killing white turtles for that shell, but I would opt to build a farm anyways. For fun. I Just love the rewarding feeling of doing a chore like digging out a gargantuan space in a cave, and then sitting back to reap the rewards. It's not for the efficiency aspect for me, I just personally find that part of the game fun. In fact, I tend to skip sandbox games if they have no way to abuse spawns or have some sort of mechanics systems (Minecraft is like the perfect game in that regard, though way too grindy to fully optimize). Anyways, just wanted to share my perspective on why I, and maybe a good chunk of other people, build farms.

while doing this it would be cool if you made a goal/achievement list to accomplish. would add some extra purpose and intrigue for the slower times. ex. beach houses, or extravagent homes for each villager like a pirate ship in the ocean for the pirate villager, transportation systems throughout the world, or collect all travelling merchant items, all dishes, collect all banners for a each biome mob, etc. etc.
@Throarbin Жыл бұрын
And there are plenty of people who would do that. But I guess it didn't really appeal to me. I kinda just wanted to walk around the world day by day and wonder what I should rather than having a checklist

AHA! My question from an early episode was answered right off the bat here. :) Now I know why you decided not to grab the first orb early in the game. lol I'm only 2 minutes into this episode, but I am waiting for that moment when you realize how to use a void bag, and all the perks that come with it. Been available to craft since you got into the dungeon (bones/webs/bits from the brain), and is basically an expansion to your actual inventory. If there are potions in there, you can use them with the corresponding hot keys. If you need a check for a shadow key, and it's in the void bag, that's good enough. It even auto-stacks with everything else when you use that "Stack to Nearby Chests" button. But most importantly to most people, is that if your regular inventory is full, and that bag is on you (and open || Right-Click to toggle) it'll pick up any of the extra loot you can't carry, up to your same inventory capacity over again. "Cool things you can fish up in pre-hardmode" - Once you have the angler's gear, and the shell phone there isn't a whole lot of other stuff... BUT, if you get a lava sponge, a honey sponge, and a regular sponge, you can now craft them into a single "Super Absorbent Sponge" that just sucks up ALL the liquids (yes, even shimmer), instead of one sponge for each, and none for shimmer.

to max stack items faster i believe it is right click and hold. additionally, if you turn frameskip off, assuming your computer can run the game faster than 60 fps/monitor has high refresh rate, it will also go insanely fast

This challenge is one of the best ones ever in terraria contents (for me). I'm sure I will do that one day but next bosses will be unlocked with one week.

that sounds awesome!

I saw the May stream but I didn’t watch it… :( I will watch the stream for June though! The work you do deserves more relevance.

Well this video is doing pretty well, maybe we'll get that more relevance soon

for fishing, you should get an enchanted sundial, and an enchanted moondial. then get yourself some amphibian boots. they're very good for wings, they give you a lot more height and ascent speed. but they're not the same experience as terraspark boots. and there are a few 'collectors' things which I noticed you don't have (though I'm only halfway through the video). the super sponge, it's the lava absorbent sponge, super absorbant sponge, and honey absorbant sponge, and has the bonus of working on shimmer. the honey one is really annoying to get, as not only do you have to rely on the angler giving it to you, but you have to get the honeyfin tuna quest specifically. then there's the hand of creation. it'll be good if you're planning more large scale builds. it's the architect gizmo pack (I see you already have the extendo grip and brick layer, that's good), the step stool (you can buy wooden chest loot from the skeleton merchant now, item depending on the phase of the moon), and a few other things I think.

After watching this series I realized how long I stay on world's for. I thought separating evil biomes and purifying the world were normal

In regards to the issue you’re experiencing with the long time it takes to make a full stack of stone slab, the process goes significantly faster if you turn frame skip off. Provided that you have a decent pc
@Throarbin Жыл бұрын
Yeah, one other person mentioned that, I may need to try it
